It’s funny how Nick is more excited than Lucky to show off how strong and great the product is. Nick was like a kid in a candy store showing the rod off. I have two Ambush rods. I’m thinking I need to pick up another one !
Great job showing off the Old 18's. You know I have several Suppressors and Arius Rods. We've caught 9 plus lbs Reds on the Ultralight with great joy and amazement in this tackle. I would highly suggest to all anglers get some Old 18's in whatever rating and you will never regret it. Best Rods Ever.
Picked up a Suppressor a couple of weeks ago. Freakin LOVE it! Been putting a serious dent in the crappie population. Taking it to Texas coast in April, hopefully I'll get to hang some reds from it!
At 5lb's my heart started racing! If you use a blank only, not a finished rod, I probably won't have a heart attack next time. Thanks! Amazing test though, that was a full arc! Thanks for the information, that's a heck of a backstory! Thank them for their service from us!
Great video, Nick, and thanks to Lucky and his team at Old 18 for building such super high-quality products. Most Inshore fishermen need more information about BFS gear and it’s capabilities.
I have five Old 18’s including a Suppressor UL and L. Just curious why the UL is moderately fast action and Light is fast action. The heavier Suppressors are all moderately fast. I usually can’t tell one from the other in use unless I look at the markings.
The only issue that concerns me with using ultralight rods is unduly stressing a fish you intend to release. A big fish cannot be landed quickly with light lines and buggy whip rods and a long battle is hard on a fish. My two cents: ultralight gear is for bream and crappie fishing, not for doing battle with slot reds and 20+ trout.
I’ve been looking to get into the BFS wave that’s going on now. This Rod is just what I’ve been looking for. The fact that’s is made in the USA is what sold me. Hopefully they go back in stock soon
Awesome customer service as well. I broke 2 suppressor light rods fighting red fish. One was 25" and the other was a 29" red... needless to say they gave me my money back and I bought a laguna!!!!!!lol I have to say I've landed plenty on my suppressor ultra light and have not had an issue.... But how is the ultra light stronger than the light? I absolutely love my ultra light and Old 18 still has a customer.
Love the company, great customer service and their warranty is great as well. On all my 4 reels I have nothing but Old 18. Suppressor, Aerius Mdlr edition, and the hollow points.
Hello Rx , amazing rod company that is truly trying to do better by the customer than any other manufacturer in USA ,,, only question i have Nick is i notice the suppressor rod u use has an extremely deep bend all the way to the handle - which appears to put undue pressure on the reel & anglers hand & arm ,,,, also i notice a whippy rod makes it awkward to cast a lure for lack of leverage,,,,?,,,
@@RXAngler Thanks! Indeed. Apologies for the redundant question. I see it is 3.0 an3.1 oz. It's 'pretty light' indeed - though significantly lighter is possible so I'm looking forward to the next iteration. Do they sell blanks? Thanks again for your enthusiasm! Liked.
Just can't justify $300 for a Rod.. There's plenty of great rods out there. My All Stars are 20+ yrs old & still going strong. Just got a Falcon, thought I'd try that.
Nice fishing skills my friend! Really enjoyed watching. Can't wait for my first canoe trip this year...BTW, Welcome to my channel about bushcraft and survival in Russia! Regards, Yuriy!

I love these rods! Bought three 7’6” for cats and big baits. Hands down best I’ve used!
Have 2 suppressors and love them! And old18 customer service is next level love them
Out of stock during the holidays, darn, hope to get a suppressor eventually.

I have ul suppressor because of you rx have never looked back best rod ever 👍🏽
Awesome show Nick looking forward to visiting the show and pick up another new rod.

Light action Old 18’s are the way to go!
Great video, Nick, and thanks to Lucky and his team at Old 18 for building such super high-quality products. Most Inshore fishermen need more information about BFS gear and it’s capabilities.
Thanks for the vid. These Old18 rods looks awesome! Is the discount code still active?

Will you ever make a rod, for a swim bait heavy lure's

I use their heavy fast and have no problems with these rods. I love them. Changed all my Lews to Old 18 Rods. Best rod I ever fished with.
@@michaelfaulkner5994 Heavy is fine and not the rod action I was referring to in my post.
OUTSTANDING! And a great salute to those veterans there!!!

I would place the order and they will ship to you once available. They make them
in a timely manner.
@@RXAngler I would but at the moment they are not available for backorders.
@@RXAngler They stocked up on a few today
I ordered one and completely forgot about your coupon code.
I will definitely remember it on my next order

Amazing rod. Wish they made the suppressor in 7”6! For mini jigging and casting further
Great rods definitely gonna have to check them out

I’m getting one !!! What size Shimano should I get to pair it with? A c1000hg ?
Dude! What an awesome video. I’m about to solely use their rods 🤓

They're running a sale right now on the suppressor is 25% off BTW. I was going to wait for the fishing show but couldn't after I saw the sale.
Awesome video and made in USA finesse rod, suscribed and may actually buy Suppressor rod.
Been eyeing this one for a while... just ordered one after watching this video. It seems they have a trade show special 25% going on now. 😆😆
Can you buy just a blank so you can tie your own?
Great looking rods do you guys have any plans to make a creek rod like 5.6 or under?
Give them an email. I’m sure they can work something out for you.
Great video! Would you recommend the Suppressor 7 ft untra light mod fast paired with Shimano SLX DC 71XG (already ordered) for trout fishing? Thanks!
I would go with the light action personally. But, the ultra light will give you a very light, almost BFS set up.
@@RXAngler considering Yakrods BFS rod as well
What's the pound line On that?
Are the blanks actually manufactured in the USA? Thanks.
You need to check out Cashion rods 100% made in USA everything including the graphite is sourced here. They have a icon series bfs rod that fantastic.
Old 18 have any plans to incorporate carbon fiber handles in the future?
Where do the raw materials come from, the USA?
Just ordered one today.
Sold ordering now !!
Dang it back ordered :/
Is the Aquarius made in the usa too
Assembled in the USA
What does the 7' UL weigh? Thanks.
It’s in the video.

Super . Power rod 🎣🎣🎣👌
Great video!
Im looking at a st croix legend tournament 7'4" heavy does old and 18 make a comparable rod
They should have a 7’+ heavy rod in the Suppressor and the Hollow Point line.
That first rod is it all glass rod I know it’s not all graphite rod
The suppressor?
Is it glass yep
Gonna be a customer
Do they ship rods outside of USA?I'm interested for this BFS rod
Send them an email and ask.
Imma guess.... Solid blank?
Awesome!
No rod damage but bent the spool...lol
Your code discounted me $0.00 when I tried it just now.
RXANGLER20 can only be used on regular priced items.
i will have to get one thanks for 20 percent off
Heck yeah, navy airdale here (a long time ago). Definitely going to look into this brand.
Ohmylordnevermindsoexpensive.

I admire your jaw.

Price is high
Surprised u didn’t advertise a spinning rod.
FIRST!
Really encourage checking out Edge Rods by Gary Loomis
I bet an ugly stick would last just as long and you won’t have to help the backbone with your hand like you did with 5lbs
That would make a good video. Casting difference between an Old 18 BFS and a non BFS with the same reel.
Kuying Teton🔥🔥🔥
I hate to be that guy but, what is bfs?
Finesse baitcasters, lighter line and lures still with good casting distance
Just ordered my aerius 7ft ultra light rod....i seen mark get some big reds on it so i cant wait to get some on mine.🚣♂️🎣🎣
