  • Murphy's Oil Soap Vs Bona - If it’s time to clean your hardwood floors, but you’re not entirely sure how to do it safely, you’re not alone.
Homeowners know plenty of water might damage a hardwood floor, excess oil is unsafe, and chemicals won’t help either.
And maybe you’ve heard of Murphy’s Oil Soap and Bona, but which one is better?

I do five gallons of water and a squirt of Murphy's and the results are amazing. Then I follow with a "rinse" of cold, plan water. Been doing this for 13 years on my maple floors and have had no issues. I use a microfiber mop everyday to "dust" my floors and wash them twice a month. I have maple floors in every room except the bathrooms and mudroom. The kitchen takes the biggest beating and still looks like new. Those who have had problems with Murphy's, in my opinion, are pouring way too much liquid into their buckets. A small bottle of Murphy's will last me a little over a year.

I can tell you as a hardwood company that Murphys oil is the worst possible thing you can use to clean hardwoods. It’s a contaminant and will cause major issues if your coat your floor again.

Before we knock Murphys Oil I think we need to take in consideration the measurement to water. I use 1tbs to 1 gallon, AND the water we are mixing with it. City water is terrible and leaves residues on everything. Just a thought...I love Murphy's Oil Soap...Plant based always.

As a hardwood contractor. Never use Murphy oil soap. You can never retop your floors. Has to be a resand. The best way to add protection to your floors is to add a retop coat. Maybe 3 years after a new floor or refinish. If you have dogs and kids the floors will get beat up. No matter what finish is used.

Whatever A.I. program you used to narrate this is pretty terrible. (Ie bot voice literally reads out VS instead of saying versus) I caught at least five other examples of how terrible the AI screws up the narration of this otherwise, probably interesting video. Seriously the awful AI narration just ruined this for me completely. I’m not going to lie if you’re going to use AI at least invest in AI that doesn’t sound like AI. Also equally irritating whatever AI program you used pronounces the word greasy as if it has the letter Z in it when in fact, the word greasy does not contain the letter Z and yes, I am that much of a loser that I noticed these things.

I did too….every sentence seems like it’s abruptly ended. AND I pronounce it Oy-El not ul.

Ditto. One slash four instead of 1/4. Since people can already talk and say the correct things, I would say an actual human is way better than AI. Especially when the AI is so very easy to spot. Might as well be a stilted computer voice.

The weird pronunciation of oil as “ul” was all I could focus on!@@danconia02

Also, the poor quality voiceover audio from the AI didn't help. Seriously! Wtf?
