It was so crazy seeing how much you swept that floor and more dust would just fly up, it seemed never ending. The before and after look really amazing it's impressive how much you could do to restore the place. Amazing job as always!
Remarkable transformation. A lot of work and time involved. At some point in the future, the hardwood floors will need to be refinished. The wood needs to be sanded, sealed, and varnished.
This is extremely satisfying, watching you work. For anyone who may watch this and need to clean exceedingly gunned up wood floors, I just happened to see a video where a refinisher used oven cleaner to remove shellac hand gunk from a piece of furniture. It works. Would certainly be useful in situations like this. Using the carpet shampooer is an excellent idea for rinsing.
I cleaned an apartment with nicotine stained walls. Someone told me to spray with bathroom scrubbing bubbles foam, let it set, then use sponge mop or squeegee to remove ( staring at ceiling and dragging to floor). That process was quick and took much of the nastiness off. Of course, needed to be wiped down a couple more times but made it much easier.
also did cleaning for a living, while I have a master degree, my parents didn't understand that, they see that as a shamefull job, not for some high IQ autistic person, but I loved it, it calms me down... A lot of people as they remodel an old home are stunned to find fine hardwood flooring under linoleum. OR, A finely crafted fireplace mantle boxed over with plywood & painted. Or a false wall covering a door to a stairway leading to a 3rd floor with some nice unused bedrooms up there. !
You did a great job here. You're viewership is more than the 12K you mentioned, btw. I would love to see those floors completely stripped down, sanded and refinished. I'm a sucker for hardwood floors.
Not being critical but,, those black patches in the floor are most likely to deep to be sanded out. It's like he said about the wood being dry so those dark spots are where the wood was taking all the moister it could. Shame those old oak floors are beautiful!! I personally would sand them and find out for myself , but I can do it myself and it would only cost me my time. You can only sand down as far as the tongue and groove. Good day!
My grandson is 3 years old and autistic. He is high functioning but was non verbal. He is in a new specialized preschool taught by speech therapist and it is amazing after just 5 weeks and so much he can say now!
Really cool that you went the extra mile and gave the windows and so on a once-over. Yeah, it makes sense to get any loose dirt off because it'll fall to the floor, but you definitely went beyond just that. I hope the new owners got some proper treatment for that floor and varnished it so your work didn't go to waste!

I thought the whole time you were going to sand and refinish that floor and kept wondering how you could put down oils and still get a finish to stick. Now I see what you’re doing, what a transformation!!!
This has got to be one of my favourite videos of yours you worked nothing short of a miracle on that room the floors looked so much better I hope someone was able to come in and do the next step of sanding them down and restaining them a darker colour to further remove the evidence of damage
It’s similar to painting restoration. You have to get the grime off before you repair damage and refinish. If someone tried to sand those floors down before, all the grime would just gunk up the sand paper.
Your hard work is showing that this darling little home can be salvaged. After your cleaning you can absolutely see the potential in this home. Beautiful job
Awesome transformation on that floor, I am always amazed at just how resilient hardwood flooring can be. I bet with a good sanding and refinishing they would look even better.
I really enjoy your videos - very satisfying to watch the transformation. It took me several minutes to realize this was the same house as the kitchen I saw you clean up in another video.
Smart use of the carpet cleaner. I do the same on my kitchen and mud room floors. They’re both textured so I use a scrubber/buffer machine to saturate the floors with cleaner and scrub at the same time. Once that’s done, I go back over everything with the carpet cleaner to suck up all the liquid. Works great.
I'm learning so many ways to tackle the worse kind of grime watching you. Ty for sharing! Wonder if the homeowner would let us see the completed "after"? We're kind of invested in seeing it through.
I didn't know that to clean a difficult house could have crossover techniques to detailing normal or trashed cars. Thank you for doing the work so that paint will be able to stick to walls, the floors are renewed, etc. Good eye for catching details, a lot of persistence and good thought in your work.
So glad I stumbled upon this video! We sadly have floors similar to this. Part was ripped up with carpet and badly stained. The other part used to be good but we had a litter of pups in early winter so we had to do what we could inside. Needless to say, after the pups left we cleaned as best as we could but obviously the stains remain. Additionally being a multi dog household, we recently experienced very wet/muddy weather that you could barely keep up with mopping. There’s a lot of debris on the floor that I have been struggling to clean up with traditional mopping. I have the exact same carpet cleaner and a bio enzyme floor cleaner that works wonders. I will have to try this cleaning/rinsing method on occasion until we have funds saved up to lay vinyl laminate over the floors.
Very interesting way to take care of the grimy floor. Looks worlds different now! I know it had to take you a long time to get it to that point, floor scrubbing done right takes time. Amazing job! I just purchased a home that was smoked in for 50 years. I paid below-market value because of a few things, however it was still in great condition. It smelled terribly of smoke and everything you touched was covered with sticky nicotine and tar buildup. We started with the paneling, pulled it all down and burned it. We scrubbed the floor, no where near as bad as what you had to clean. Funny, we did it almost the way you had done, using Murphy's Oil Soap and the same red handle brush from Walmart. We slop mopped it, then scrubbed, then came back over it again with fresh Murphy's, and it looked amazing. We used an entire bottle on all the floors. Since we pulled the paneling down, the baseboards had to be removed. Some of the boards broke upon removal and had to replace them with a new style. Luckily I was able to salvage 75% of the old stuff. I made a bunch of repairs in the closets and the dining room. Since these were off-the-walls, I scrubbed them at the sink with Murphy's. Lots of spares to repair to use for repair in the bedrooms. I scrubbed down all the walls using Pin-Sole, and that was the absolute most discussing thing ever. I had my buddy's brother professionally paint every room, using high quality primer and paint from Sherwin Williams. Sunday, I scrubbed down the yellow window frames, now they look gleaming white! I still have to clean the glass because I ran out of time. Today, the hard wood floors have been sanded down and will be finished with new stain! I still need to remove and replace all the light fixtures, wall receptacles, and light switches (yellow and sticky from 50 years of smoke damage). It's a lot of work, but I'm almost to the point where I can begin packing and moving in. Thanks for sharing this progress, it's been motivating!
Wow! My garage floor is cleaner than those floors 😮. In fact I think my chicken coop floors are cleaner! It’s heartbreaking to think how bad it must have been to live in that! I used to work for cleaning company mainly doing windows, gutters power washing, wall washing, floors. On wall washing jobs we would use our window mops which are sleeves on t handles. For light cleanings we would use TSP and hot water and cold straight water for rinsing. On heavier cleanings we would use TSP and borax in hot water.
carpet cleaners on hardwood floors are amazing for getting the fine particulates from between the boards, I found a hardwood attachment for my Bissel I forgot it came with before I moved recently and the even though I had swiffered and used the murphy's hardwood floor soap it still changed the colour of the floor boards, was amazed with it. So what was the ultimate goal with this, since those floors clearly need to be sanded and refinished and in theory all your hard work will be wiped out by that.
If i bought this home post cleanup/refurbishment/flip, whaichever, i would never want to see the before. Id never lose it from my minds eye. Wonderful job.
I was very confused when I first came across your title thinking to myself, 'how on earth can cleaning ruin these floors any more than what the hoarder stuff did?' Then I realized the title meant you were cleaning those ruined floors. 😅 Anyway, really enjoyed this video and your step by step thoughts on the cleaning process and helping out people.
As a lover of hardwood floors and having restored a couple of floors in my time, this is a crying shame to me. There are glimpses of what this floor once looked like and it was beautiful. I am not sure if a good sand and refinish would help with some of those stains. Unfortunately Hoarders have a mental health issues which keeps them from seeing the damage they doing to their home, as well as to themselves and their health. Its sad that people feel they need to attach to things they way they do. But we all have our emotional issues and trauma in our lives and if it isn't hoarding, its alcohol or drugs, or food or gambling, etc,.

I cannot even imagine the amount of patience it took to do this!!
I just stumbled upon one of your videos for the kitchen area. And I just got hooked. The work you do is outstanding and you have a great heart helping folks out. You just gained a new subscriber here!
People use the phrase, "A labor of love." That does not even begin to describe what you do. May God bless you abundantly!
The bullet hole through the inside door and out through the screen door looks to be about a .45 caliber, a nice homey decor touch.
What a lovely old home. Hope it gets loved in the future. Thanks for helping it.
As an autistic (neurodiverse) person, this is the perfect job for some of us. I clean part time also, thanks for sharing tips and tricks!
also did cleaning for a living, while I have a master degree, my parents didn't understand that, they see that as a shamefull job, not for some high IQ autistic person, but I loved it, it calms me down... I always want to do it at friends and family places (if they are ok with it, else I need to restrain myself)

A lot of people as they remodel an old home are stunned to find fine hardwood flooring under linoleum. OR, A finely crafted fireplace mantle boxed over with plywood & painted.
Or a false wall covering a door to a stairway leading to a 3rd floor with some nice
unused bedrooms up there.
!
Well done sir! I have to admit, I was hoping to see the floors refinished. Thank you again for saving this home.
He was there to clean not refinish.
That poor house. Really nice and the front door almost glows now. Thank you for the voiceover explanations!
I can just "smell" the improvement from these floors being scrubbed! You did an amazing job!
I have found that on floors as dirty as this using dawn on them for the first nasty sticky and grimy layers does a wonderful job at breaking down the yuck.
You do a wonderful job at explaining all your steps and reasons. It is a great platform for people that are new to trying their hand at DIY projects.
Big respect, I would not have been able to stand in that dust for more than 5 minutes.
I've seen those videos where a team of four or five goes in to do the work this man is doing by himself. The time it would take me would stop me before I started. A daunting task.
Wow that was a lot of work, but what an amazing transformation! Well done Adam, and congrats on your growing sub count!😊👏👏👏
There is a reason I over clean my home. Thank you for helping those who need help.
It's insane how deligent and organized you are at taking care of your customers! Job well done - very impressive!
Excellent. Never seen this type of work before. For older homes… if you’re going to do it- do it right like this gentleman! Thank You!
You are a wonderful human being and the world would be so much better if we were all like you, well done 👍
Love the music you play with your cleaning! I also think it's awesome that you help people out with cleaning these homes because you can make a TH-cam on anything, but this is your passion. 😊
From 12thousand subscribers to 16.2thousand!
To 34.6 k now. Amazing how fast it grows
You do such great work, it’s inspiring to watch. I’m really enjoying this hoarder house series 😊
I thought the whole time you were going to sand and refinish that floor and kept wondering how you could put down oils and still get a finish to stick. Now I see what you’re doing, what a transformation!!!
what a difference! I'm sure walking through there feels miles better already.
Thanks for doing this as a separate video and including all the tips!!!
Wow! What a transformaation! You are an angel for putting in so much effort into that for free! The polishing in the end really got me.
what a shame that wood floor must have been beautiful at one time. so hard to get all that dirt up. Thank you for helping there.
That was a great idea to use the carpet cleaner to rinse the floor
Actually it's not. The hard plastic and aggressive brushes will damage the floor. Though the floor is so bad nothing could make it worse
I love how you describe what your doing as you go. And the carpet cleaner for sucking up nasty water on wood floors is genius!
I'm learning so many ways to tackle the worse kind of grime watching you. Ty for sharing! Wonder if the homeowner would let us see the completed "after"? We're kind of invested in seeing it through.
The difference in the doors you cleaned showed up "holy crap" on camera, too! Amazing job!
I just found this channel last night. I love it. The music is great, his time lapse of the clean up is so relaxing. He motivates me.
They could sand the floors down and restain and seal the wood floors. You did an amazing job!
I didn't know that to clean a difficult house could have crossover techniques to detailing normal or trashed cars. Thank you for doing the work so that paint will be able to stick to walls, the floors are renewed, etc. Good eye for catching details, a lot of persistence and good thought in your work.
The bullet hole in the door was the real highlight...
Wonderful work. Looks like the floor is salvageable, unusual with hoarding. Thanks!
WOW incredible! I would have thought it NEEDED restoration! Beautiful!!
I can only imagine how unwell a person would have to be to allow their surroundings to decay to such a degree! And that bullet hole in the door 🫣 much much respect for the work that you do ❤ it’s amazing! Thank God there are still hard work selfless people out there who take on the impossible 😊
Wow! I just found your channel and love your content!
In 2017 my husband and I bought a house that had been hoarded and we had to do tons of work to it, but one thing the seller did was refinish the hardwood before listing it. After watching you do this, I am so so grateful they did. Just tearing out carpet, scrubbing, and putting kilz on the floors and walls was plenty enough.
Good job!! I’m amazed at the transformation!
After watching your video, i started to smell my stink, and paused the video, went into the shower, scrubbed myself making sure 5 layers of skin got out of the way to achieve maximum hygene, and just got back to let you know, it hurts! ❤
Dude, your patience and tenacity are admirable.
Great job! You’re one of my favorite channels to watch. Looking forward to the next one.
Thank you for a great video. My mother was a hoarder. The basement tile is nasty and there is knotty pine paneling that needs to be cleaned.
Glad to see you wearing a proper mask with that dust. Amazing work getting all of that done!
I’ve lived in a few rentals that I cleaned like this. Couldn’t afford much else. One rental, a house in small town MN, impressed the landlord so much, he sold it to us contract-for-deed. That created an awesome credit score which enabled forward investments, land purchase and business loans, etc.
grandma Rose here l love watching you as it motivates me and it isn't about the cleaning as much as the organizing my kids always teased me about putting me on the hoarder show but can't because l was a neat hoarder lol well at almost 70 yr and all my ailments which l know is me abusing my body in my youth due to washing floors on my knees and working jobs most men did as in heavy and lifting and moving etc l sometimes had 2 jobs raising my kids plus home and people would say you could eat off my floors so l always was proud of that with 5 kids and no monetary or emotional or any support of any kind l am proud of me but watching you reach those high places with ease makes me so envious lol anyways dear love your show and suck it LMAO thank you for making my days.....
Every post in the war on entropy is honorable. Great work, sir.
“You done been told son” literally died lol. Great job!!
I am inspired by you using the plastic broom thing to clean the floor as I am in a wheelchair and can’t get down on my hands and knees. So thank you for that
Glad to see you remembered gloves and a mask this time!!
You are amazing! You take some thing that seems an insurmountable problem, homes that are virtually destroyed and unliveable inside and you work miracles. Should write a book of all the places you’ve cleaned, and all the stories you’ve heard, I bet it would be very interesting reading. Thank you again for your incredibly kind and caring heart. Wish the world was full of people just like you.
What a huge transformation.
You inspired me to clean my home... You are such a hardworking person
The difference is amazing! Great job!
Anyway, really enjoyed this video and your step by step thoughts on the cleaning process and helping out people.
Lol that’s what I thought. “The cleaning messed it up? And he’s showing that?” Now I get it.
Nothing makes you clean more and faster than a hoard clean!!!!!! Great job, beautiful floor!!!!!
I've been binge watching your videos. I really enjoy them because you are kind and conscientious. I
also appreciate the upbeat yet mellow music. Some other channels use music
that can become
grating after a while. So thanks 🌹
