Glad to see you back again 😊 You all might already do this, but I turn on ceiling fans to medium speed to help dry the floor faster. Between that and an excellent spin mop system, it makes floor cleaning quick and easy, which is a huge deal in this house with 9 indoor dogs...36 feet trotting around...floor care is nonstop!
Thank you for this video. We ditched our typical routine and went with the Ecolab cleaner over the weekend. Our floors look great and we cut out some of our unnecessary steps.
Our wood floor has been good for about 4 years( since we moved in)... Due to my heavy cooking (lol)+ dog+lots of aphid sap outdoors in my garden this year, I've noticed, that it's much harder to achieve same shine on my hard wood floors. The kitchen has a tile on the floor, but it leads to the open space of the living room where we have hard wood. The wood looks much more dull this summer. I use the same Bona spray mop, sweep before mopping...etc. The age of the floor is about 19 y.o. How can I restore the same shine? Thanks
1. Bona was available at Costco for 1/2 retail, but it’s like 1 or 1.5 gallons. 2. Costco had the Swiffer PowerMop (or Target). The battery powered spray will save time and not bending over. You can buy China made disposable pads for $1 each and not have to clean pads. Pads will last 5,000-10,000 sf if the floors are not caked with dirt. 3. Video says to dry or vacuum clean first, especially particles and lint (like pet fur). Otherwise, mopping will drag debris around and scratch the floor, or the mop pads gets dirty faster with an unvacuumed floor.
Whoo! From Insta to YT, it's always great to learn from you! Our old floors have been somewhat neglected bc I just never really knew how to clean them properly (lots of those 'shine' products and probably too much saturated mops...oops) -- glad you're here to teach folks like me. All good stuff, sir. THANK YOU!
Thank you so much for all the video and the knowledge that you share with us, GOD BLESS YOU! I have being learning a lot with your videos. What do you recommend to clean an engineered wood floor? How can I clean these floor and what can I use it ? Thank you!
So this cleaner you recommended also disinfects the floor? Cause I’m trying rid the floor of the possible germs and bacteria as well Is Lysol safe for this?
How about using Murphy Wood Cleaner? I started using it and getting the best results along with a nice shine. But can it damage the floor in the long run?
One main tip for floors is to remove shoes at the door. Also, I would ditch the chemical disinfectants and cleaners and simply use HOCL to kill germs naturally and use Method ++ cleaners.
Curious if he’ll get a chance to answer - good Q. I’ve got one of those wide damp mops - I got one with a duster chenille side AND the flat micro fiber side. After sweeping, I make one pass with the chenille duster and then flip it to the flat cleaner side. I use a DRY mop, but I spray a few squirts onto the mop head as I begin. That, along with the light spraying onto the floor, works beautifully. Quick and easy! 👍🏻
OK, so we’ve already done what you asked us not to which is use outshine it came recommended by the contractor who installed the wood but it’s too late. Can you please help me figure how to fix my floors cause just like you said there seems to be wax residue, and it breaks my heart to see, my beautiful Wood looking so bad 😢
Hello. I have tried Bona cleaner and a few other recommended products for my beautiful wood floor. Each time it looks so good for a day then it becomes easy to see that we have walked on it. Our floors are walnut colour and have a high gloss finish. They should be absolutely beautiful! It is only my husband and I living here and we do have occasional visitors. We are careful to remove outdoor shoes and wear slippers in the house. Do you have any idea why my wood floors just do not look good even though I have tried over and over to find the right product. We have recently used Murphys Soap, and Bona cleaner. Both show sticky tracks after 1 day and it is so discouraging. Thank you
Have you tried quick shine for hardwood? Use it after cleaning. Im not a big Bona fan per se due to its price and lack of luster however it may be a good cleaner. I suppose it depends on the finish you have and your desired look. You said high gloss so I would from time to time use the quick shine. I used a floor cleaner which puts down water and cleaner then brushes the wood and quickly sucks it up which my buddy didn't recommend but it worked great for me for 10 years.
Hi I have a wood floor and there is a sticky area and I’ve washed it with just water and when I swiffer my floor with a dry pad it’s still sticky in that area. Do you have any tips to lift up that sticky area?
Cleanly there’s a substance on it. Start with the least powerful liquid cleaner like Bona, to avoid stripping the finish. Dry pads only pick up loose dry debris, lint, hair, fur etc. Dry will not get rid of any deposits that were wet, like adhesive, sugar water, etc.
Was just looking back at some of your IG posts for this - before starting the video: would this also apply to Parquet Flooring as well? I found your video on planks and it made sense afterwards re: Neutral Floor Cleaner - when I used just regular Mr. Clean on the floor, it was incredibly slippery with socks on afterwards.
Look at the mop head and see if it’s getting too dirty, like black. It means the head is saturated with dirt and itself requires laundering. If you have only, you will have to hand squeeze out enough dirt to continue using it. Getting fast it gets dirty depending on if you vacuumed the floor, or starting dirt condition, not the area.
After cleaning with bona. Take a white mcirofibre and wipe your floor. You will see lots of dirt the microfiber will be blacm. I find it doesn't do shit.
Good question! Yes but bamboo flooring does not like moisture so I’m usually a bit more careful and will come through with a dry microfiber flat mop to finish.
My tip is buy cheap socks then walk around dragging your feet and your floors shine and look great all the time. Shoes off socks on then go! Dust free and shiny! Make it a game with your husband. Half the time best results! Only under beds need a damp mop!
@@brittanycox5614 Just remind him how dirty some places he walks are (I.e. sidewalks, streets, etc) and if he would wipe his shirts and pants on such surfaces and then climb onto the sofa or bed in them. It’s the same level of filth as wearing your shoes indoors.
I had a friend come in and install a chandelier in my living room and he scratched the shit out of my floor. Ugh 😑 one thick long scratch of like 20 inches 🤬
Most of the dirt doesn't come off unless you actually wipe it afterward. The mop itself barely picks up 20% of the dirt. Whoever invents a mop that actually does its job of removing dirt instead of just wetting the surface will be a millionaire
Microfiber is one of the best fibers for picking up dirt. If you keep the mop head clean and rinsed it will pick up all most all of the dirt on the floor. To be sure the floor is clean I do a what towel test after. Example here - instagram.com/reel/Cx6anm-OLpn/?igsh=MTl0dmtoaXFuaGF2MQ==
I’ve never had an issue with it. I will say they have a kinda confusing amount of products on the market. Some do in fact have wax or finishes in them that I definitely don’t suggest. The only one I like is the cleaner.
Glad to see you back again 😊

YES, the fan tip is great! That is a lot of feet, I can barely keep up with our two pups 😅
I started using the Bona spray with a swiffer mop a while ago. Glad to hear I've been doing it the right way!

When telling us the secret, Brandon says "It's finally time to come clean." I would have expected no other phrase! 🤣
I had to! 🙂
Excellet information! I am new to cleaning and will surly be buying one of these and I have hardwood floor through out my house.
Bona is my go to! Love it 🙌🏼

I’ve used Bona for years, keeps the floors nice. Once in awhile I use Murphy’s Oil Soap with the Bona microfiber pad and dry it with a dry pad.
Love to hear it!

You are clearly a smart cleaner. Thank you for all these helpful advice. I am struggle to clean for the first time in my new house.
As an upgrade there are microfiber flat mops that are spray mops and will spray the surface with a trigger on the handle
Like the Swiffer PowerMop. But have to spend $ for consumables.
I started using the Bona cleaner a couple months ago and love it!!
I heard the Bona cleaner changed the formula and many people are complaining about it. Any thoughts?

does the mop head on your bona spray mop pop off all the time? trying to figure if its a common issue. my brand new one is doing that.
You make cleaning look fun!
what about wood floors that haven’t been varnished/finished?
What do you recommend to use for cleaning wood dining room table/chairs?
I'm just an amateur cleaner,,,☺️😁I prefer "'olde English wood cleaners"".. 🎉❤
Thank you for all your wonderful tips and techniques. Would you recommend the same products and procedures for us with laminate wood flooring?
Could Bona be used on wood cabinets for cleaning?
That’s an interesting question… 🤔 I need to give this a try and look into it.
You talked about ZEP floor cleaner in one of your previous videos .
Is that not in your cleaning favorites no more. If not what changed your mind.

great information and thank you for also sharing your two favourite products.
So what is in the spray bottle? Water and Ecolab? Straight Bona?
Im going to keep using Rejuvenate works great
I agree

Just water and microfiber finish with the dry micro fiber
What if you get a house that had an owner with a cat and it peed on the hardwood floors, is vinegar still not a good option to clean with?
Would you recommend a wet dry vacuum like a tineco s5 for real wood floors? Thank you in advance!

@@CleanThatUp Thanks for the reply! Keep up the great content.
Love your videos!! What’s your go to product for cleaning linoleum floors?
Excellent videos. How do we clean and shine stone/ceramic floors? Thank you
I have glass French door that lets the sun in and it damaged the wood with the sunlight. Is there a way to fix the wood ?
You might have to stain it and seal it with a polyurethane sealer, but you probably should contact a professional floor refinishing company.
Do you have any solutions on how to repair scratches on wood floors?
Sand it down with sandpaper and rub a clear coat over it
Nice video. Exactly what I've learned. I'll watch more.
How do I join the clean community chat group?
Murphy is good?
Is mopping a floor bad for the floor?
If I use that microfiber mop over 1500 Sq ft do I ever replace the mop during that one job? Or is one mop head good enough for job? Thanks.

How do you disinfect hard wood floors?
What if you have old paint on hardwood floors i just brought a house and I tried everything
that is not a wooden floor ... that is a gift from God. 😢 Looking at mine and crying ... wo much negligence from the previous owner ...
Ordered my bona 2 weeks ago wish I had it sooner!
I’ve been getting it at Costco. Gallon, for about 1/2 of other stores on per oz comparison.
How do I clean carpet and thin carpeting throughout an old house ???

Is the eco lab cleaner safe for knotty pine wood ?

Bona lol..........had to be done!
Good nice tips ,,
Your awesome 💥💥
So no Murphys Oil Soap??
Even Bons leaves s residue. Just use a cool water (preferably deionized water) damp microfiber mop or pad. Always vacuum first or sweep.
So cool
New sub 🎉
Ok, you earned a sub - I just spotted your 🧀 head so I’m in…
Tip never wear shoes in your house.
That definitely helps keep them clean! I always have a pair of indoor only shoes in my cleaning kit. Helps my back and keeps my socks dry 😅
