If you are a regular passenger we designate it faster than you can imagine. The main reason we are making these inspections are not regular passengers(can't load information). And we catch the selectees 95% of the time. So you're just on a trip with valid documents, be simple and collected and itl take 30 seconds :))

Request you to kindly make a video specifically on J2 visa since there is hardly any trustworthy youtube video on that visa category. Hope to come back and thank you for the insights gained.

I feel US visa interview process is inconsistent and based on the mood/bias of the visa officer (they are humans after all). There are times people who should have gotten the visa never did (and vice versa). That's one of the small reasons why people from 150+ countries all over the world are willing to pay cartels who literally own the southern border to get them across. Current open border policy is much more guaranteed. Without immigration reform including the whole process of getting visas, the status quo won't change.

Ironically a lot people always say don’t give to much information at a visa interview because this will lead to the visa offer asking you more questions. But I love the fact that you as a former visa officer is saying be more active in the interview.
I guess the question I want to ask is, is there a scenario where giving to much information is detrimental to your interview?

well yea a successful person has no problem providing as much information as possible. In your scenario the person's father owns their own business and several rental properties - that's easy & confident to explain. What if your mother is the person selling eggs on the street in your other example? That will make a visa officer think very differently of you vs the other example, so people would not want to explain as much what their mother does.

Hi, I have been wanting to ask a really curious question for F1 visa interview about how to question the answer if I have visited Dubai for a work and I came back to my own country again to apply for education in US? I Hope someone helps me with this question.
