      It's really weird to hate your natural appearance. Some guy would like it if you didn't hide who you were. All that does is make it so the guys who would like you can't find you.

    these are some of the best fashion videos on youtube. the side to side comparison, the styling of "unflattering" pieces to make them work for you, the fact that you showed all black outfits for a more fair/more true comparison of the outfits... I don't even have narrow hips and I found this so helpful, thank you!

    Asia you are the best! I love that you said “I don’t hate any part of my body, my body just is what it is” THAT PART! Our bodies do what they’re going to do and it’s just a fact. And that’s fine!
    But being a narrow hip girly myself, you’ve been great because I’m on a personal style journey and all I see is “you want to emphasize narrow hips” but WHY? That’s what I have and I don’t see the problem - in face, love it solely because it’s mine.
    So all the most useful info I’ve learned - and all the best reassurance - has been from you, so thanks 🫶🏽

    one thing that I think it's worth to mention as well: is that you can create balance with a heavy piece on top + on the bottom or wearing top pieces that "fall" loosely on the hips, really helps me ❤

      @asdfgasdfg91 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I've been trying to find clothes for my gf. Have you found anything specific about the tops that fall over the hips? I imagine something like an oversized sweater but I'm not sure what measurements are important for that effect.

    • @LaDouce98
      @LaDouce98 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I can agree. Plus I was surprised that she did not mention going sleeveless (because she was literally practicing it at 3:17 and in the thumbnail), especially with colors that are contrasting to the skin. That way her black outfit had a silhouette of a straight line rather than a „T“. The shown effect is not only because of the wider bottom, but also because of the visually more „narrow“ top.

    • @lettie.garcia
      @lettie.garcia 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@asdfgasdfg91 I think that would vary or her style and her height. I really like shirts, so in general I try to tuck it in at the front and let it fall by the sides and back. A looser shirt helps with that effect... but a shirt might be too stiff for her style... then I would go for the sweater/cardigan as you said, or longer blouses.

    I love these tips! It's really about creating visual balance as you described. I used to resist anything called "boy cut" when I was younger because of the implication, but I find that a lot of "boy cut" clothes look super flattering on me. The right clothes accentuate the lady curves, not "make you look like a boy.".
    It's totally a case for shopping for your body shapes, not what a brand says "women should wear."

    This video was so validating for me! My hips are only 5 inches wider than my waist, plus I’m short-waisted. I’ve already been following most of these tips, often unconsciously.
    For the past few years now, all the pants in the stores have been high-rise, and either skinny or tapered. There’s nothing out there for me, so I’m still wearing my ancient low-rise boot cuts. Back when that was in style, my long- waisted curvy friends couldn’t buy anything.. Why can’t they have more than one style available at any given time? (Thank goodness for thrift stores and Poshmark!)

    Great video, thank you for posting! I appreciate how you addressed at the end that hourglass ⏳ shape is not the only desired/beautiful shape. I believe ALL body types are beautiful; otherwise they wouldn’t exist because they wouldn’t have been designed by our Creator.
    Showing how to dress in a way that helps one feel more balanced and confident is a treasure as well. I too am an “Inverted Triangle” and didn’t like how it sounds and perhaps that’s why in my younger yrs I was not thrilled to have my body type. Kibbe however, would call us Flamboyant Naturals (FN) which sounds pretty cool right?! All the types from Kibbe just sounds much more dignified and appealing than to be referred to as a letter of the alphabet, a geometric shape, or …..the dreaded fruit typing 🤦🏽‍♀️
    PS most content on what small hip ladies should avoid usually includes the pencil skirt or skirt suit all together. I have to strongly disagree here. There are ways to make it work and quite well. 1st is to not have a tailored-to-the tee suit jacket, a little loose for some airy flow is perfect. 2nd, the pencil skirt should hit just below the knee or even almost mid calf. The skirt should also not be that bodycon material, some looseness, a nice hang without restricting movement will look great. However ☝🏽, if one DOES prefer the tight/ fitted/ bodycon pencil skirt you can totally make this work by adding a top that’s peplum 💁🏽‍♀️ this will create the balance / illusion of hips. Trust me on this one 👌🏽 you’ll love the look

    I really loved this video because my body has been changing. I usually have a small waist and some shape going out around my hips but as I've been putting on weight my waist has been disappearing and I've been narrower. I found that I've been struggling to dress myself and feel happy with how I look and confident without being the same shape and size that I was once before because my clothes no longer fit the same. Even though ideally I like to be smaller, leaner with a small waist I think videos like this make it easy to love myself through the process of getting back to what I feel is my best body. Just a note. That leather skirt is cute. I sometimes wear such skirts but I wear a non-tight t shirt and tuck in which is a "hot look" on me. Just have to make sure there are visual details around the hips on the skit and preferably pockets as they add a little more shape - horisontally striped skirts also work. Certain tops make tighter skirts work (such as trapeze shaped, peplum or high low tops). I think tucking shirts/tshirts or a flare in the top around the hip area tends to break things up a bit. Lean legs and hips look great like this.

    You don't have "narrow hips" ... Your top and bottom look the same. What you do have is a thicker waist which leads to less definition between the waist and hips. The reason the clothes are working is that it gives bulk at the hips and creates a waist. So yes, that is a great look.

      You would need to measure your bust. If you are 33" there, then you have a balanced physique. If you are 35" or above on the bust, then you are narrow hipped. It isn't the measurement but the ratio. I really wouldn't worry either way, you are a pretty young lady with a toned slim body!

    Love this video. I tend to joke that i have the stereotypical "ideal" early 2000s body - super skinny, small butt and big boobs. With my narrower hips i can look unbalanced, but early 2000s styles work really well for me. I find that if you do wanna wear something skinny, try it low waisted. I love my skinny-flare low waisted jeans for example, because they dont cover my even thinner waist, and the lowrise of the pants sits at the widest point of my hips, visually widening them.

      This is exactly me lol I used to say 90s because I have big boobs, and extremely long legs but small butt and short torso! I’m so glad flare 00s jeans are back

    Thank you so so much. I never knew this about myself. It makes so much sense and aligns with what clothes have and haven’t worked with my figure. Really good advice. I never thought to try more flared pants but seeing how effective it is, I think I’ll have to give it a try.

    So helpful and you make me laugh! I know how long these take to make, you did SUCH a good job!! Thank you. I’m working on my style lately and these TH-cam videos are all I watch. I’m 40 years old and I have broad shoulders, 5’10” and have been wearing the wrong clothes my whole life lol. Skinny jeans eek!! I’m so excited to be elevating my look, it’s never too late!

    So for me, i find have narrow hips, or atleast straight hips but my shoulders do not pass my hips, they're on the same plane. But these tips i find still apply to me, so thank you so much 😭🙏🏿💖

    Even though I am taller and at a higher weight we have very similar proportions, and it's really nice to be able to actually SEE what works and what doesn't on someone with my proportions.

    You look like me trying on outfit ideas in my socks 😂 Still this video is helpful, as I can totally see the differences. I guess it would add a layer of complexity to explain the correct shoes with each outfit (and the correct shoes for the different silhouettes are probably different).

    Highest quality video that gives us very precise definitions. A1! BUT while you create volume on your hips, you also follow the basic line of your body and you even overemphasize that line, hence the shoulder pads, which is where you optimize your look imo. A little like the Kibbe system where you might be a flamboyant natural. So you slightly balance things out, but you mainly follow your lines. Agree?
