I've made soooo many mistakes in shoe choice throughout the years and once I learned how to choose the proper shoes for my outfits, my personal style improved SIGNIFICANTLY. I have short legs and hate all my midi skirts, unless I'm wearing a heeled ankle boot for a bit more length. Trying to pair shoes with skirts is my biggest struggle. Thanks for this video! Maybe I should just stick to mini skirts lol.

I do love how you make it all make sense. And how you have style them unintentionally “ wrong” in the past to how you have elevated the outfits to suit your body. I’ve just worked out I have a shorted body to my leg length and it’s changed how I wear my clothes drastically!

Huge tip for girls with hard to please feet, see what clothes you have and pair shoe silhouettes with them. Browse the stores and try them on! As a girl with two completely different sized feet and bought shoes to not wear them after I found they hurt my feet, think of the outfit as a whole instead of the shoe itself.

I generally stick to what works for me, but it's hard when fighting the tides of fashion and trends. They determine what is available in stores and no matter how mature and confident one is in their own style, it still bites a little to hear that one's staple pair of pumps or superbly fitting and flattering blazer is "outdated". I have always gravitated toward slimmer shoes as a matter of taste, but I am realizing watching this video that how shoes look on my body might have been playing a role. I never could pull off anything chunky, and yet the majority of the shoe market in the US is chunky.
Love your vids! Would love to see a vid where exceptions to these rules work really well… for example I LOVE sneakers with a maxi dress. I imagine this is also where personal style starts to shine when you start bending the rules to fit your aesthetic taste.
