    Reading a manual is one thing, but it's so nice having a calm, simple explanation of what all the plugs are and what they might look like. I was following along with my new board, and this removed a lot of anxiety. Thank you so much!

    This video maybe 2 years old, but this helped me a lot. I've been contemplating updating my power supply (so that it can support a better graphics card in future) and my cpu cooler, but I was intimidated as hell when I opened my case to give everything a thorough cleaning the other day with all the cables I saw. I'd have no idea what to disconnect to do the replacements. But this makes it much less stressful. Seems like I'd only have a few things to disconnect to do those upgrades.

      Indeed. I have a dumb question though: the fan HUB in my DarkBase 900 (version 2) has a PWM connector to the mobo. As I understand it, PWM will regulate the speed of the included PWM fans (according to temperature) - SO which motherboard fan header do I use?

    • @Velumbra
      @Velumbra 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm a complete dipshit when it comes to these things but I sorta understand.
      My understanding is that motherboards have a bunch of fan plug-in-spots but one is special as it comes with more abilities/settings than the rest and it's ment for water-cooling, I believe.
      Can plug whatever random fan in there that ya want since the plug thingy is universal.
      Mine largly looks the same as the rest just with the unique trait being text written on the motherboard identifying it as "special" for lack of better word.
      Don't take my word for hard fact since I totally 100% bullshit and lucked my way through the entire process of building my first PC.
      Still got plenty to learn so I may be of little to no use in the way of helping.

    Thanks for creating the video, it was a great tutorial! Just in case it will benefit anyone else, Im going to mention a couple of personal issues that brought me here in the first place.
    I have the Asus Z590-E motherboard. this video is using the Z390-E and its similar. I am using the Seasonic TX 1000W 80 Titanium PSU with my motherboard. For CPU and mobo power, the 24 Pin thick braided cable obviously only plugs in the power supply and mobo in 1 place only. Cant mess that up!
    But for the top left CPU power plugs, the Asus manual sucks as usual. There is a 4 pin receptacle next to an 8 pin receptacle. The Seasonic psu includes two cables, but labeled PSU for the PSU plug, but then each cable has (2) 4 Pin plugs. So, my logical assumption and 5 fingered hand math, tells me to use 1 cable (2 - 4 Pin plugs) for the mobo 8 pin receptacle.
    Then I assume, playing guessing games with $600 worth of equipment, is to use 1 of the 4 pin connectors on the 2nd PSU/CPU power cables to plug into the 4 pin receptacle on the mobo and leave 1 (hanging).
    But im here doing research before gambling and I do something wrong.
    This is just 1 of my issues connecting my mobo cables. There are a few others! Im so miserably happy to report!!!!

    Very informative! Going with a Z790 - 13700k - 32gb DDR5 6800 - 4080 for my first time building a PC 🤣 I’ve used a laptop for a couple years and decided I wanted to build something nice that’ll last

    • @ultimatebreak827
      @ultimatebreak827 ปีที่แล้ว

      thatll last for sure. How'd it go?

    • @logand2431
      @logand2431 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pretty well, took me around 6 hours to build it but I took my time with the cable management. Looks nice and runs even better!

      I actually went with the 4070 just re-read my comment. Performs great I think the 4080 is overkill, 4070 outperforms 3090 ti in 1440 most cases. Recommend it!

      @@logand2431 nice! I’m going with the Ryzen 75800x3d and 4070ti
