To be honest, I have not seen a more detailed video showing how to build a PC including all the links in the description of the video. This video is flawless and perfect. Thank you very much for your effort. I really admire how detailed you show the process and giving a short introduction of the parts that you have used. Superb video!

EASILY the best step by step build tutorial on TH-cam. Most channels will say that you put this here and do this, but they don’t show where to insert/plug the component(s) on the motherboard and such. Most people clicking on these videos are doing their 1st PC build and needs the detailed steps. Now I gotta order me a dope screen for my PC 😎

Mate, I had not build a system for a few years and wanted to get a refresher before I start building. Your video was immensely educational. Very thorough and by far the best one on TH-cam that I have come across. All the big channels seem to be interested only in advertising and talking up products so that they can get more things for free. None of them have a proper video of how to build a system that is detailed enough. The small things that they skip are teh biggest impediments and points of frustration for infrequent or new builders. Thank you for covering those points and being so helpful.

Also this is very eco friendly as it allows for the exchange of individual parts instead of perpetually replacing the whole CPU! Hats off to Chris for sharing his knowledge and skill! Just completed my first ‘solo’ build. Last build was 90% my friend’s doing some 15 yrs ago and we had all kinds of issues... hardware, software... you name it... just left a bad taste in my mouth for doing it again and thus I’ve went prebuilt until today. Why? YOUR VIDEO’s! You truly take your time and make it sound doable breaking down every facet of a build. THANK YOU!
I found your video after I had bought the x570 Tomahawk and 500dx and decided to look at TH-cam to get some ideas for my build. The rest was history; Ryzen 5800x, X570 Tomahawk, 64GB 3200mhz Ballistix CL 16 RAM, Be Quiet 500dx (removed pure wings and replaced w 5 x Silent Wings to your recs), Sabrent Rocket 4.0 1TB NVME, Dark Pro 4 Air Cooler. For now still rolling w my 2060 as it meets my needs gaming wise but will likely add a 6800xt vs GTX 3800 soon if they ever become available lol. And some SSD drives once I can catch a good sale - those Blk/Wht Kingston’s are superb aesthetically but can’t seem to find here in the US. My son and I put it all together in a day w all software installed following along to your video... no major hiccups... runs cool, performs beyond expectations, and I actually like the subtle RGB (never thought I’d be saying it!) - THANK YOU CHRISTOPHER - KEEP UP THE STELLAR & THOROUGH WORK! I wanna build more now!

    Cheers, Christopher!
Exactly what I needed. My last PC built was in 1995 and I remember that in spite of a very tight budget, going for the 'big one' - a quite expensive HDD with a whopping 340MB !!!😳
    And I think I also went for a full 8MB of RAM.😂
I also recall that overclocking was something one spoke of very quietly in an underground garage in the suburbs at 1am. It had something to do with reading out the BIOS-code and making changes to it just to find out that you made a tiny mistake and blew your CPU and Mainboard.
Things have changed a bit, so I really appreciate all the effort you put into this guide. I think it really is perfect for old dummies like me. Parts will be arriving from tomorrow.😊

Just wanted to thank you for destigmatizing building a DYI pc.
I turned mine on today and of course it didn't post. Turns out the $$$ graphics card Geforce 1650 didn't work. (The one in your build was too expensive now.) The cheap one, $$, from the dead unit worked just fine and after seeing the monitor light up, I was very thrilled.

I would love to do a similar Be Quiet build but unfortunately Be Quiet parts are not sold in my country and it is too expensive to import. Can you please do an install and setup guide for an Intel system, say Z490, as I find the installation process associated with the Intel Chipset driver, the Intel Management Engine, the Intel Rapid Storage driver, etc. to be more cumbersome and confusing than AMD.

Half the time it is very hard to understand certain words he says.
His talking volume has been edited too low. I have the vol on max on my macbook in a very quiet room and I can just about hear him when he speaks quieter (he changes the volume at which he speaks too much as well; and I mean the biologically controlled volume). There is no music at all in the video. So this made for a scare when there was really loud music all of a sudden as I had it set to max to be able to hear him.

Similar spec to what I’ve been eyeballing down to the case! Planning my first build and this is the most useful yet. I’ll need that calming voice and accent as I stress my way through it. You’ve got me thinking I can do it! Subscribed and look forward to new and your old content as I just found the channel - cheers!

I have a question, I have the same case, as you know by now I think. Did you install the Noctua cooler in your other video before installing mobo into the case, or did you install it with the mobo inside the case? Is it easy to install inside the case? I'm thinking to just put the AM4 mounting system on the mobo, get the motherboard in, wire everything up and THEN install the heatsink and cooler fans, as getting to the CPU power connector is gonna be a pain, or the standoffs for that matter. Or is it? Can you enlighten me on which is the best way to go about this? Thanks again.

Thanks, Chris. Exactly what I needed to see. Excellent job on the details. Easy for pros but for beginners it's nice to know for sure how all the case wires work etc, regardless of a manual. Especially ARGB and RGB details. Keep it up. Dunno why anyone would give this a thumbs down but alas, they exist. Take care.

@@ChristopherFlannigan I have only one question. I bought a i5 10400 and "discover" that the max Ram that you can associate with this CPU is 2666mh while i bought corsair 3200. I guess that there are no way to overcome this with overclocking right? My question is more an advice from you. It has integrated graphics for now because the GPU market nowadays is just complete nonsense. When everything is back to normal price wise, what would be your recommendation from GPU standpoint to get the maximum of the PC with a reasonable price (lets take 350e as a symbolic max)?
Thanks a lot for your wisdom. Especially the last part of how to "activate" the HDD was useful. I powered everything and was concerned like "where are my 2 TB?!?!?!!?" and i went back to your video and of course you explained that. Thanks so much to make our life easier.

I just finished building my first PC in over 10 years. Fortunately, I had your outstanding video to guide me through each step. When I finished building it, and it was time to turn it on, everything just worked! Hooray! I decided to build a PC to improve the video processing power to work with creating music videos. Since I am studying with the Online Academy of Irish Music, every couple of weeks we make and submit a video of ourselves playing a designated Irish tune. Until now, it took 15-20 minutes to render each 1-2 minute video using my Surface Pro. Now with this new build, the video renders in around 40 seconds. Thank you so much for your extremely helpful guide to building this PC, and now I can really focus on playing the Irish whistle and flute, and make creative versions of this music that I really love to play.

@@ChristopherFlannigan There were really many tips in your video that made the difference for me as I was going along with the build. My new PC is running very well. Instead of using the Wraith cooler that came with the Ryzen 3800, I used a Cooler Master instead. I appreciated how your video included both scenarios for installing the coolers, Right now, it says it is at 31C, and the highest temperature so far has been 50C. Not only have I seen the big difference in video editing, but even with less demanding applications too. Everything runs smoother and faster. Thank you so much!
