However, in dGPU tasks, the GTX 1070 8 GB will outperform it because the raw power is closer to an RTX 3050 8 GB and the RX 6500 XT is closer to a GTX 1060 6 GB, but with 2 gb less vram.

All with ram and hard drive. Cost around $1500. Or around $30 per computer. Just Google college surplus auction in your state.
Honestly, living in the us has its perks in terms of ease of getting products. U can basicly get anything there for a reasonable price (other than healthcare ofcourse)

Real cheapest build: Intel 4004, 2kb ram, geforce 256, 'motherboard' for 4004, no case, no fans, 80x60p screen, 20W power supply, 64kb magnetic tape storage.
The confidence is real when you put that cpu in that motherboard without knowing the bios. I have a a520 and to use a 4500 I will need to update the bios. Well to use any 4000 series really.

I paid 2400 bucks back in the day for a custom build. 6.4G HD, 17"crt monitor, 56k modem, 300MB ram, 300Mhz buss. It was top of the line compared to Future Shop, Staples, Etc. That's all we had. Puter was obsolete the next week !! Back then every 18months or so, speed and mem was doubled !!!
I just built that PC. The man is not lying, this is a way to go cheap with new, don't sweat don't having PCIe 4.0 support on everything but the gpu you chose, that little 6500xt can't take advantage of those PCIe version speeds.
I built a 600 dollar machine for my parents that is the best bang for your buck machine I've ever built. It was for my parents, so I wasn't about to use crap parts. $100 more dollars, the difference between cheap and amazing bang for buck is pretty huge. Ofc I used Black Friday and every other discount imaginable, but the price for the exact components I got have already almost doubled the value of the list price for the exact same components, and that's DIY built prices. A comparable pre built 8s around 2K. Build it yourself, or find someone who enjoys it. It's worth it.

I suppose you could have used a Ryzen 5 4600G ($20 more expensive, but eliminates the graphics card), a single DDR4 stick ($20 for an 8GB module without XMP) and an old SATA SSD (may also require the screwdriver if you don't want it dangling around) if they were in stock and you had dared to go unbearably cheap.
as someone who uses a 6500 xt just save up the bit of extra money and get a used 6600, 6600 xt or 6700 xt. the performance of a 6500 xt is not worth it

In 2015 I built an i7-6700k and a GTX 1070 pc, I think I spent a little over $1400 building it, and it still outperforms this PC.
