You have gained a subscriber. Because you saved me sending the microphone back. Only got it a few weeks ago and I was not there when it was delivered. So was setting it up late. THANKS a LOT...Thank God I found your channel...
Namaste sir , Very helpful video sir, can you guide us . What should be the settings on the mic while shooting outdoors ? .. Buzzing sound coming a lot can you guide us sir ?
I just got these and thought they sounded good but holy cats, the room noise. I haven't played with effects yet (and I mostly live stream) but what do you suggest? Thanks.
Hi Chris! Thanks for video. What Gain Settings should we use in the range from 0 to -30dB? What does different dB mean for us? How Rode Gain settings correlates with in camera Rec.Level settings (Canon)? What is the perfect combination? Thanks!
There is not one perfect combination, it all depends on how your environment is and what you are planning to record. Generally speaking, I tend to use the Wireless Go on the loudest setting and try to set the camera (also use Canon) as low as possible.
@@ChrisSpiegl I've done some more tests today, and I found that then you are doing back up recording on TX, the sound is different (in a good way) because it's not affected by Camera amp or by RX amp. Interesting..
When only using one, I’d either use merge or the safety track mode (in the latter you get one louder and one quieter side on the camera so you can switch in case the loud signal gets distorted).
Is there a way to change the recording length? For example, we had two separate recordings today where each speaker spoke for approximately 45 minutes. When I connected the transmitter to the computer, Each speaker's recording was split between a 31 minute recording and then a 15 minute recording. Is there a way to set it to record longer than 31 minutes in a session? If you covered that in the video I missed it, I apologize
As far as I know, there is no setting to change this. However, you can just put the files right after and they should work perfectly. Alternatively you can use a tool like this to join the files: audio-joiner.com
Hi Christ, I tried to do exactly whatever you do but my recorded came out with no sound. I just got my Rode go 2 about ten days. Please help. Thank you.
Hi, thanks for the video! I am having a tech issue hopefully you can help me, I am trying to connect my rode wireless go ii to my fx3 sound bar (just got this camera). I can’t seem to hear anything out of the headphone’s when trying to monitor the sound. I have it connected to input 1 via the sound bar and the headphone into the 3.5 Jack, but no sound is coming out of the headphones. It shows that it is picking up sounds, but i can’t hear anything. I tried it on my a7siii and it works fine, so I don’t think it’s the rode, can you tell me what I am missing? Thanks!
With the app you can delete them and I think also format the whole recorder. However, in a way, you don't really have to do that since it automatically deletes the oldest clips when the storage is full.
When you use two TX units and the Safety Channel feature, then you will end up with both the TX signals mixed together into a mono track and that is recorded normal+lower volume. But you still have the option to get the 24bit wav files from the TX units after you are finished recording. Which is actually worth it because the quality is indeed significantly better than the one that got transmitted wirelessly.
Hello Chris, good video. I have wireless go 2 but I find the safety channel kind of useless. If the main channel clip, the safety channel would just be a low DB clipping. Almost like low the volume of a blow out sound in post.
Hello, the issue you are describing is a special case of clipping which the safety track can not fix: it's when the mic capsule itself is clipping. In that case the only thing you may be able to test to is to use the -20db Pad on the respective Transmitter/Microphone. The safety track is more for those circumstances that the mic cain on your camera for example was set optimally but the signal got a bit more loud to clip that so you have the safety track.
I connected Rode mics for podcast. With Mevo cameras I am not able to bring the audio senitivity. I want to keep the audio to 1-2 feet only from mic. But it is picking 5 metre away audio. What am i supposed to fix here?
Please help me. When I update my Wireless Go 2 using Rode Central, all of my internal recorded files are erased. How can I download the files without Rode Central? Just doesn't work without update, and If I update it will delete my files. Thanks!
excellent videos, congratulations. I would like to ask if you know of any recent incompatibilities between Rode 2 and the new MacBook Pro v.12.0.1 update. When I now try to view the files in Rode Central, the message THERE WAS AN ERROR MOUNTING MASS STORAGE appears. If you can help, I appreciate it. Thank you very much
I have not seen this error. I will check it out and see what happens when I use it next time. Have you tried updating everything (Røde Central, the Røde Wireless Go II, and MacOS)?
cool vid! I use my rode wGo2 to record external audio. I typically shoot 24fps films, but recently I shot a 30fps event and every 2min-ish I now experience audio drift. in the future how can i sync my wGo2 to my desired fps?
Hi all, I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong but I have one transmitter than seems way more sensitive than the other. Like holding them side by side, the levels look very different. And when I've recorded with others, sometimes, it sounds like one person is just short of a yell while the other person is nearly inaudible. Here's a picture of what I'm seeing. I installed it no pad, no merge, no safety
Hi, I'd try to reset the devices and then see if that changes anything. As far as I am aware, you cannot change the Gain on the transmitters individually (only as one gain setting on the receiver going to your camera). If that does not work, please reach out to Røde support.
I am using Rode Go 2 with Sony a6500. I am facing a problem, when I start recording the audio goes very high for 5 to 10 seconds, then it comes to normal... any idea what's wrong ?

so the gain setting is just the level send to your camera? What do you do if the input from the mics is to loud on the receiver?
You can activate the pad on the transmitter - I think. That should be possible with the app on a mac or windows machine.
