    I would love it if pressing the Marker button on the receiver, the transmitter's internal recording will create a new track. This is useful for separating tracks with each recorded take. It would also be useful to set the filename of the internally recorded files.

    I would love to be able to adjust the level of the safety track to more like -10db (or perhaps programmable to any value?) than the current -20. While I understand the value of the current setting, in my workflow, mostly studio face to camera, the safety track would be more beneficial just a bit under the main track. Cheers for the video - this is a great product.

    I use this product specifically for live-streaming, and normally connect the audio from USB-C to USB. It would be nice if the gain adjustment affected the output via USB-C as well as the 3.5mm. Currently, the gain adjustment only affects using 3.5 mm output.
    Personally, I have found it to be very useful to use USB-C output on the transmitter versus the 3.5 mm output.

    We still need to access the recording files from the ios app, either ipad or iphone, most of use use these on the go. Another suggestion is to have a setting where the receiver is registering input from the camera and when a video recording happens to trigger a new sound recording on the transmitter . I know we have markers, but this would make managing files much easier and would be a gamechanger feature.

    SUGGESTION: "Standby mode" with ultra low battery usage (that can be configured in an app or program after what time receiver and transmitters to go standby - SEPARATELY CONFIGURABLE! ). In addition to that, via 3,5mm jack, receiver should be able to receive a signal from camera when it start recording and to wake the receiver and transmitters from standby and start recording immediately.
    IT WOULD BE SO BENEFICIAL.

    I have just discovered after great frustration that you cannot mute individual transmitters in merged mode while they are set to always record.
    You need to set them to backup or off.
    Works fine in split but then you only have left and right channels which is useless for streaming.
    Selected recording delete would be good too.

    • @Giorginho
      @Giorginho 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      what happens if you mute ?

    • @dugsbugs1
      @dugsbugs1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Giorginho If you have the transmitters set to "Always Record" you can't mute individual transmitters.
      It will show that they are muted but audio will still come through.
      You need to set them to either Backup or off.
      When you need to use them as stand alone recorders, you can set them back to "always record"
      This is only when in merged mode.
      I have told Rode about this but I don't think they know what I'm talking about.

  • @GerbendeJong
    @GerbendeJong 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It would be great if the transmitter/microphone has a small speaker that will give a small chirp or beep when you turn it on and sounds again before powering off. I use these microphones as standalones only and I've had it happen many times that the microphone I'm wearing has powered off somewhere in the middle of my recording. If I hear the beep instead of having to look if the light is still on would be a huge plus!
    Also it would be great to have gain control on the transmitter itself with two dedicated buttons (+ and -) with a small LCD that shows the value for 3 seconds when pressing the + or - button.
    These would be for a newer model obviously since firmware updates cannot help the device grow new buttons.

  • @KaiTiura
    @KaiTiura 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Unless I'm wrong, or late to the table, you need a Rode USB-Lightning cable to connect the Rode Mobile app to the receiver. This, in my humble opinion, is a travesty. Don't be like DJI, GoPro and others in requiring your faithful customers to buy proprietary hardware from you to make your products work as they should!
    My second point would have to be, if there are two versions of audio quality available; "Broadcast" and "Compressed", why then would the compressed mode be, as you say, able to deliver a "broadcast quality in this mode"? Hmmm?
    I'm not trying to nitpik here, but these are issues that bother me. I love my Wireless Go ll mics, and I SO appreciate Rode's rocking updates on this extremely good hardware, but seriously, these issues need to be addressed. I spent good money on a great data USB-Lightning cable that I won't get back because there was no mention anywhere about needing a proprietary cable to use the app. Otherwise, I'm super happy with these mics!

    Any chance of a firmware update to control the recording on the TX's? A lot of wasted recordings to go through to find the actual pieces required. Only option is either always on or Backup which starts recording when the RX is turned on yet we may not start recording immediately... Should be an option to press the power button twice to start recording and press twice again to turn off?

    I still miss a battery indicator on the wireless go 2. De transmitter has 2 blinking blue light when turned on. It would be nice to see that one of the led change color when the battery level change. Something like: blue fully charged. Orange 50% en red 10%. That's nice because when you just use the transmitter for example recording a voice over, you don't have to connect it first to see the battery level.

    She said it was difficult to overload the input. Anyone using this for drama with actors who know how to project their voices knows it is remarkably easy to overload the input... The pad option is not enough, it needs a proper input gain stage with a way to set the levels from the receiver. Also, the software audio waveform display is useless for finding audio sections for selective output. I just give up every time and download the whole lot and fix it in Logic, meaning my hard drive is filling up with hours of silence or people waiting to start talking...

      A good question! The Wireless GO II and original Wireless GO share the same compact form factor, unique cold shoe clip, in-built microphone, and easy-to-use design. However, the Wireless GO II is a dual channel wireless microphone system, which consists of two transmitters and a single receiver. It also offers an extensive feature set that makes it extremely versatile, including both an analog 3.5mm TRS output for plugging into cameras and a digital audio output via USB for plugging into smartphones, tablets and computers, on-board recording, 200m range with improved transmission stability, flexible gain controls, safety channel, complete control over all features and functions via RØDE Central, and much more.

      Hey there DShack, that's a great question as the technology in a 2.4GHz WiFi device and the Wireless GO II are similar in some ways. However, the only way to use RØDE Series IV transmitters is with RØDE Series IV recievers, which can be found in the Wireless GO II, the Wireless ME, the Wireless PRO, the Streamer X, the RØDECaster Pro II, and the RØDECaster Duo. Note that these devices can use two transmitters at one time, except the Streamer X, which can only use one.

    I just learned the output is microphone level, even at 0 dB setting. So it attenuates the DAC output, then you need a mic preamp to get good level in a field recorder. I don't get the reason they did this. At least there should be an option for line level output on the receiver.

    I own the same RODE Wireless mic GO 2. The thing is the audio is working only on the left side, even in merge mode. Hope you can assist me in this

      This is a good suggestion! We do currently have RØDE Connect available for free for computers, but not yet iOS or Android.

    when using the Go II with the Rode Videomic NTG what should the gain be set on?

    • @rodemic
      @rodemic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This depends on proximity to the subject you're recording, so we'd suggest setting the gain dial somewhere around 10 and checking your levels on the Wireless GO II receiver unit, then adjusting your gain to ensure you've got sufficient gain without hitting the red on the levels indicator.

    I love it 💚
    The 32 bit float has already saved my audio on a project. It really works as such a cute field tiny recorder. I'm excited to try it with an ntg mic as a wireless boom. And can't wait for Colors 2

    I purchased the wireless go ii but I only got 1 receiver and 1 mic because that’s all I need right now. Is there a way to purchase just a mic from rode? I can’t find them so singularly anywhere.

      Hey there, if you're after the dual set and purchased a single transmitter set, we'd suggest returning it (if able) and buying the dual transmitter set instead, as we don't sell the transmitter units separately.

    I am confused as I am not seeing any recordings on my phone that are supposed to be saved and I notice it records into my camera but cant get it off as its own recording even if the camera is off. My rode app isn't showing remote access form the phone. How can I connect with someone to talk about this? I would love to use this to its full capcatiy.

    If one of the transmitters breaks, can you purchase a single transmitter to replace it?

    • @rodemic

      Unfortunately we don't sell them separately, sorry Michael. You could opt for the single set and keep the additional receiver as a backup.

    Hello! Can you say, how can i chande a level of internal recording? Or it have same level as external recording?

    • @rodemic
      @rodemic  ปีที่แล้ว

      There’s no way to have two separate sets of levels for onboard and in-camera, however you can activate the safety channel to ensure you don’t run into any clipping, check out how it works here: rode.com/en/user-guides/wireless-go-ii/using-rode-central#:~:text=Always%27%20recording%20mode.-,Safety%20Channel,-R%C3%98DE%20Central%20allows

    Is it possible to use more than tweo Rode wireless go mics parallel? Like 2 tranmitters with two mics connected to each one, to record three or for people at the same time? Or will there be complications with pairing/channels?

    • @rodemic
      @rodemic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Gerrit, unfortunately with only two Wireless GO II TX units, you will only be able to run two mics total. We'd suggest perhaps picking up a second set if you're planning on recording more than 2 people at once.

    RODE W2 don't transmit L and R by computer for danvici record. because of it combine together with virtual output, no option for transmit both by 2 virtual channel

    hi i wonder, for feature no 1, do you mean that i can record without connecting the receiver mic to my phone / camera? i can just turn on both the transmitter and receiver and the audio will be recorded right away?

    • @rodemic
      @rodemic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that's right. You will just need to adjust your button settings in RØDE Central 😊

  • @orelbitan

    Thank you! I was wondering if there's a way to connect the transmitter to XLR, meaning to record live show through the sound guy mixer. Usually people do that using a Zoom device...

    • @rodemic
      @rodemic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, we'd recommend the VXLR Pro for this 😊 rode.com/en/accessories/adaptors-cables/vxlr-pro

    • @orelbitan
      @orelbitan 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rodemic Thank you!
      The thing is... I want to connect only the Rode transmitter to an adapter, and than the adapter to the sound men's mixer, so the Rode transmitter can record a live concert from the sound men's mixer regardless to the Rode receiver.
      Like you can do with a Zoom device.
      Rode adapter is a male adapter, and I think that's mean it can only let out information, and NOT get information from a mixer device. So I'm not sure the adapter will work because it is built to let out info, and not let in info.
      What do you guys think and suggest?

    It would be great if you did a plastic stick on cold shoe (camera style) mount so Motorcyclists could stick the TX onto their helmets right now the dodgy clip is all we get not good for motorbike riders. I would also like to see a small hole drilled in the clip so you could place a safety line through it. Right mow if it drops off my helmet its gone! Maybe a short lead Lavalier mic too as if we try them the cable is always hard to hide in a helmet. There you go you did ask LOL

    • @rodemic
      @rodemic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the suggestion, we can look at this for future iterations! It does sound like a lavalier mic option would be better suited to your setup without the risk of popping off mid-ride (with any sort of mounting system). Of course if you're finding the cable a bit too long you can loop the cord and tuck it away, but we will pass on the idea of a shorter cable onto the product team 😊

    Hi, are you guys planning on selling just the transmitter for those who bought the 'Rodes Go ii Single version'? I'm sure a lot of people would love to add a second mic to make it a dual set up. I've seen a lot of people asking and your replies seem to make me think it's on the cards? Cheers
