Just a few tips from another pajero owner, those aftermarket CV’s wont last, they are a different cheaper design internally and are basically made of chalk. Your best off to spend up on a new OEM or get second hand, remove the boots and re grease as the factory are stronger, you will know if they are factory because the shaft has a thick section in the middle. You also should have zip tied the dust boot on the strut inside the spring. It’s good to see someone doing their own work ! You could have left the brakes on but it would have been more awkward. The CV you pulled out actually looked good, i suggest putting it back in it will be stronger than the new one
Finally, a step-by-step video on how to do a front CV on a Pajero! Great detail, clear instructions, and excellent camera work showing parts, bolts, specs and tricks. 10/10. Keep them coming! FYI for others watching: the two bolts you’ll need to help take off a stuck brake disc are M8 x 1.25.
Hey so glad that you like the video. It can be daunting posting this video as I'm definitely no where near an expert. But I'm always trying to show people they can have a crack at anything themselves! And I end up watching back half my video anyways as I always forget how I did it haha
@@bia4x4 as you say, I think it’s that little confidence boost is all that people really need for them to give it a go themselves. Great videos, keep making them!
Well done Bia brilliant seeing you get stuck in . was a bit worried you didn't drop anything onto your feet with just your flip flops on . saved yourself a lot of money there doing it yourself 👍
The strange noises are probably some of the suspension and wheel alignment bolts not being done up, tighten the lower should bolt to 100NM tightness all the other larger suspension bolts to 140NM that old CV is still good its stronger than the new one. If you get clicks and clunky noises from the drive line pull all 4 wheels off and re tighten that 36mm axle nut on every wheel EDit: Tighten those suspension bolts with the car on its wheels to avoid additional stress on the rubber bushings

Hey Bia! Please keep us informed about the clunk noise. Is getting clunky in my Pajero, also. Although I don't know if it is the same clunk you hear. I suspect, the swaybar bushings on my car, cause it only clunks when I go over bumps.
You took off way more than we usually do for the front cvs. We undid the upper ball joint and tie rod. We don't have sway bars up front. Undid the inters then tilted the spindle down and cv came out. Your gen 4 has 36mm castle nuts. The gen 3 is 32mm. I would like the bigger brakes though.
Ok thanks, if I do the cv again in the future I'll see if i can do it in less steps. But I've also heard that the front 2 cvs are different to do, I'm not sure as I haven't taken the left one off
Yes. The left is easier. It is just pushed in on a circlip and not bolted in so you just yank that sucker out. Once your originals are out I'd have them rebuilt and keep the aftermarket's for spares.
Probably not a good idea to do work like that in super booty cutter shorts. Risk of cuts and damage to legs is quite high. Unless you are going for titilation.......
Those GSP shafts are dog shit. Best off when you can find some low km replacements from ebay. I think I got both rear drievshafts delivered to my door from an NX for just over $200. Bargain for some SLIGHTLY used OEM shafts.
Hello, Bia 4x4-SYMMETRY 4WD-DIY with Brian-How are you?? Hope you are well, recently I have looked to your channel. Hahaha you know what it's probably the most commented thing over my videos is for me to wear shoes. And I nearly added in my video no one better tell me to wear shoes😅 although I do totally agree I just hate wearing shoes😂 but if u look at around the the 12:10 mark you can see I have blood on my toes as I stubbed it really hard but it wasn't while I was working on the car it was while I was walking to the kitchen for a drink😂

Awesome work, thanks for sharing. Ive done the front left but now my drivers side is due so this will help thanks.

Thanks yeah I got quoted about $800 bucks which is ridiculous and I was able to do it my self for under 200
@@bia4x4 Massive difference in price it makes doing it yourself . well done Bia 🙂
Hey Bia, check the sway bar D rubbers for the clunking. Easy enough to replace and cheap enough to be able to do front and rears.
Hey, thanks so much, will definitely check it out!

Thanks for the info!
Is it because it is raised by 3 inches, so it puts too much pressure on the CV?

Hi bia, do you know the offsets of your rims? Or does anyone know if you go with 285/70r17 what offsets you need? Tia
Most common clinking noise up front are the sway bar end links. Just remove the front sway bar. Dont need it.

Whats the impact driver and the ratchets brand?
Looks like Toolpro battery ratchet and AEG rattlegun
