Paj turbo failures are very rare. My 08 has almost 350k km, the turbo has had play like that since 200k km. Our gen 3 was the same, 420k km on factory turbo, small amount of play. The other gen 4 has 200k km, same thing. But upgrades are always nice. Keep up the good work 🎉
@@jeanloock4930 yes they absolutely are. I was a bit shocked to hear the turbo is on the way out. Sure it could probably have done another 50k or more. Our previous NS was tuned and close to 300k. Oh well wanted to be safe 😄 the upgrade is pretty nice
That sold it for me I'll wait to see the next few episodes to see what other upgrades I'll be doing and buy it all at once And a video on rims would be much appreciated congratulations to use both
Congratulations and happy birthday! A common misconception with journal bearing (jb) turbos is that they shouldn’t have play, but side to side play on jb turbo is normal since the bearing rides on a film of oil, back and forth play is bad Ball bearing turbos shouldn’t have any play at all
Is there any exhaust drone at any speed on the turbo back exhaust with the CAT and Resonator ? If there is I might go for the one with the full muffler ... im happy for a nice note when on the throttle but absolutely don't want a drone that makes me crazy on longer haul trips
Great vid mate. These are getting better and better! Very interested in the oil cooler replacement at some point. Can you say what cost would be to do this (parts and labour)? Even just a range eg 1-2k?
Have you checked the injectors? Had one fail at 120k. 2016 NX Pajero. Not cheap to replace. Engine sounded like it had a tin of marbles in there! Told dealer to replace all 4 as intend to do some traveling and don't want to have another fail. Including EGR & lower manifold clean - up for near on $5k - ouch!!!
@ which model is the Pajero? I got a chance to grab a pajero 2012 platinum edition now. I am just thinking whether to buy or not. I am not sure how much km the pajero engine last. Currently the odometer is 196000. Could you please suggest me should I buy that pajero or not? If I buy how much it could cost for the next major service done. Appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks mate
@ not much for the 3.2 Diesel. Make sure it has service history and it should be fine. Ask the buyer if the following has been done: Valve clearances, timing guide, tensioner, manifold clean and general services. If not then I would recommend doing those around those ks. We also have a 2012 NW Pajero. Also check if they have replaced the engine oil cooler. If not just make sure you have cash ready incase the cooler fails. There was a bad batch.
@ thanks for your reply. I would like to have a Pajero for a long time but I have a doubt how much more it is capable to run. The car is 196000 km now and will it be efficient for another 100000 to run?what do you reckon?
I wish that you drive a petrol ⛽️ pajero so I get full benefits from you 😁. But enyway I can work on my car by myself because of your videos especially inside the car so thank you 🫡

Cool upgrades. I bypassed my oil cooler somehwere around that 180km mark. Hasnt seemed to had any affect.
