    Btw to get the injectors out you don’t need to take the rocker cover off, you just need to remove the plugs and the t30 bolts (I think) that hold the injectors down, might take little persuasion to get it out but eventually all 3 should come out with the rail you’ll need new seals too

    I’ve sold my mk6 to a Guy in Barrow in Furness (I’m in Essex!) being collected on 27th, but will still watch your vidz mate, I like the “oh well, I’ll have a go” attitude 👍keep up the good work bud

    I've just replaced the Flexy on the cat on my 1l 2014 fiesta and the bolts holding the cat to the turbo I had one stud and three bolts, I've had the car from New so know no one else has been fiddling, must be just ford using whatever is laying around on the floor at the time.

    Hi ! What was the mileage of this engine before starting the rebuild ?
    Thank you :)

    Use a hose clamp. Wrap it around your lambda (02) sensor tool and tighten it. The tool cannot warp with the hose clamp around it, so you can crack the nut with full torque.

    Sorry if this has already been asked, what year is this engine? I have a 2015 Ford fiesta SE manual transmission. Think the timing belt broke and/or oil sump clogged, will be looking into it further here in the next few weeks. Hoping this video will come in handy if i decide to rebuild. Thanks

    loved this video is that engine the 140 bhp lump its the first time my self that i have seen one striped down ✨

    • @MendItModIt
      @MendItModIt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you 🙏🏻 yeah it’s the 140, only difference from the 125bhp is the map and gearbox ratios I believe 🤔 not many people attempt it and I’m starting to see why 😂 but I’ve got this 🤞🏻

    I'm working on a 2012 Focus at the mo. (same engine) Aiming to remove the engine straight up per other TH-cam videos. Had to take a stress break as not yet been able to remove the bottom 3 inlet manifold bolts (can't seem to reach them from the top, sides or bottom) and couldn't get to the starter motor top bolt from underneath the car (need it off to fit the clamping tool). Maybe I'm just not up to this now I'm old and wrinkly :/

    • @raycrook4525
      @raycrook4525 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just noticed from your video that the lower 3 bolts don't have a plain hex. head. Either studs or thread extensions? Maybe I was looking for the wrong thing.

    My Fiesta Ecoboost is experiencing oil and water mixing in the engine, even though I have replaced the cylinder head gasket and also the cylinder, does anyone have any suggestions to help me?

  • @brianiswrong

    Looking forward to this.
    We have a 13 plate ecoboost 125bhp fiesta with 108'500 miles on her.
    The overheating was a plastic pipe junction wasn't it?
    We are getting to the mileage/ age for a timing belt change,which is a big job and hot me a quote of £700 😲
    Which is a chunk of change on a car worth £3k.

    • @MendItModIt
      @MendItModIt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe so, this one I think overheated as a result of the accident it was in. There’s a pump that supplies the turbo with coolant which was broken when I got the car and water leaked straight out when I tried to top it up. My guess is young driver, bumped it, didn’t want insurance to find out, drove it away from the scene, didn’t realise it emptied its coolant, overheated and they go rid. Can see why the belt costs so much to have done. Its an odd design, be interesting to find out why they went with it

    • @EssexStoner
      @EssexStoner 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd sell her while you can, I had a 2013 fiesta ecoboost titanium and she lasted till 90 odd thousand miles till the engine went. Mine was a coolant pipe bursting from the coolant tank due to ford's stupid design, basically a coolant pipe is kept in place in the coolant tank by a plastic clip it sits in the pipe the hot boiling water makes the plastic brittle so it blew randomly. I sent it to ford they stripped the engine to diagnose what happened and it flooded the engine, sent bits of plastic through the turbo and into the engine. Had a reconditioned engine and new turbo put in then ford's broke the o2 sensor putting the engine back in and told me I had to buy a new one

    Which Haynes manual are you using? I have an Ecosport with the same engine and they don't seem to have one specifically for the mk7 and they definitely don't have one for the Ecosport.

    so many people shit over these engines, they're not even that bad, can tell who doesn't look after there cars 😂 my 2012 is still going strong with almost 80k, stage 1 map and gets driven hard.

      @MendItModIt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That’s great to hear mate 👍🏻 love the positivity! Far to many people are quick to put stuff down because they don’t like it. It’s an awkward design and I’d like to know why Ford decided on this engine but like anything, if you look after it and maintain it as intended then it should work and work well 👌🏻

      @@MendItModIt yeah man 100%, think the main issue lies with the fact so many little boys financed them when they first came out, ragged the life out of them then flogged them on with low miles, don't help when people use the wrong oil 😂 aslong as it's looked after they're brilliant. 150bhp from a 1 litre is more than enough to have fun in on the twisty b roads too! all the best with the rebuild, heard they can be a bit of a pain, mine's due a cambelt witch i'm dreading 😂

    These look like "throw away" engines. Oil based belt bathed in oil (will soften the teeth). Ford tried too many new techniques in this beta design engine. Later engine with chains will be better maybe? 😕
