É muito perceptivel que em 2004 ele tava no seu auge como instrumentista, tecnica e melodicamente. Eu nem consigo imaginar como ele estaria expressando sua voz na guitarra hoje em dia. I saw Damageplan Nov. 2, 2004 in Houston at a little club called Numbers. Got to chat with the brothers a little bit. Always down to Earth with their fans. It was extremely hard to come to grips with his passing a month later. I don't know if it was because I had just seen them a month before or because I had seen them over a dozen times from 1991 thru 2001 as Pantera. Or maybe it was because Darrell was such a great human being and didn't deserve what happened to him in the slightest. I just know that the people from my generation, and I was 26 at the time, and older were gut punched by his senseless killing. I was lucky to have met him and Vince several times being from Texas and all, but even the people that never had the pleasure still felt like they knew him. That's the impact this Kat had on people. He truly is one man that will never be forgotten.

His guitar was always so mystical it always has that dime aspect to it like I needed him to be able to sound like what it does. A guitar God and brother taken to soon...

No one knew what would happen a short time after this, still devestating after 18 years. Your still missed Dime, and so is Vince and mayhem and to all the other people that passed on that fateful night. I think we all take some comfort in knowing that you and Vince are together again and you're with the others in the Rock heaven upstairs making music that we won't hear until we come to join you guys much love and respect

Seen all kinds of comments about dimes playing. I can’t say much anyone else hasn’t about it. But, what I think separates dime from the rest of the field in metal is very simple but yet superbly complex. He played metal with swing. That my friends is a straight up testament to how much he loved Eddie. The king, influencing the king, with swing.

Arguably one of the greatest guitarists to ever walk this earth. I know people who can absolutely shred and not one of them can reciprocate what dimebag did

6 days before his death. It's so sad some asshole took away Dimebag Darrell from us metalheads. If Dimebag was alive Pantera most likely have been reunited and had at least 3-4 new albums by now.

Happy birthday to my favorite guitarist in the world. You made the world a better place when you was here. But you will live on in your music and the hearts of fans that got to experience you with the power of Pantera and Damageplan and know you and Vinnie paul will never be forgotten. Happy birthday to my guitar hero. The king of groove metal guitar and all that goes with it. The one and only Dimebag Darrell Abbott ❤

It's eerie seeing this and knowing that six days later he'd be murdered doing what he's doing in this video. What he loved. What he excelled at. And it's the biggest tragedy in fucking music history that we'll never hear anything new from him ever again. Can you imagine all the Dimebag material we've been robbed of? God damn, man. Makes me literally ill to think about.
