Just to help you understand about the lack of badging on the car, the Tuned Version means this car is depicted from the very first scene in the garage with the mechanic and Goose introducing Max to the car. The car was being fine tuned befor the badges were added. So the Tuned Version is not suppose to have the badging and is correct. 😉

Yeah, sure. But remember the movie was SELF made and SELF funded and they didn’t realise it was going to be popular. They weren’t even professional film makers or professional toy collection experts etc... we haven’t seen too many mad max film toys in the last 40 years. It’s clear to say they’re NOT wise.
I think you’ll find they didn’t seek permission to modify the original cars. I think you’ll find Ford IS wise and professional and they’ve named the car and they had to decide on a name which fits in with their products and doesn’t conflict with their products and future products.
You’ll find they didn’t put the badges cause of legal reason and OR future identification reason. The first production run needs to be visually identified from the other production versions. It’s perfectly acceptable to deliberately leave off features as a way of identifying the object.
Ford is allowed to release a ‘low rider’ version of it if they want to. Naming this model as a tuned version of the XB falcon is perfect naming. It’s description labels it as a streetcar.
If they want to make a newer improved version such as a 2020 model, they now can do that. It’s perfectly acceptable.
The car originally was never given a name. Now Ford themselves have named it.
It’s only got features that ford themselves could have installed, if they’d wanted too.
The film producers have shown they’re insane and don’t car about the car. It was just a way for them to make more money in life. They evolved the film series into a girl’s party in the desert of Sydney. Which has nothing to do with a Melbourne family tough police story.

I recently rewatched the film and with the darkness of the scene and Goose obstructing the view I could not make if the badge was or was not there. I'll have to give it another go and turn the brightness up. Between this and having a look to see if the original Aussie audio mix is on the blu ray, it gives me a great excuse to watch the classic again.

I bought the Greenlight version and I like it for the price

Funnily enough the greenlight version has a more aggressive stance to it than the autoart. The greenlight is lowered at the front and higher on the rear to give it a sort of drag look. The autoart sits dead level on all fours.
But the autoart is definitely more detailed and looks like its worth more money. Both great models though. You get a very decent car in the greenlight version for the money. From some angles the greenlight actually looks meaner/nicer than the autoart does. The autoart is the better car, but im not a fan of the way the car sits on its suspension.

@@Tony-1971 see, you have a lot of experience. Ford has way more experience. They make different products for different customers, and the products are not able to be dismantled and swapped /substituted for the other products.
They reserve the right to make other products from the original concept.
If they want to make a low rider version, they can. They can also paint it red and that’s okay. They can make a new batch of them, and mark them with different numbers.
None of these models compete. They’re all different. Thrifty buyers try and make things competitive cause they’re thrifty.

After 5 years, you might find you should have bought 5 more. Your original idea of being cheap enough was actually too low. You might want to make a diorama with the car. There’s lots of apples and they all taste different and look different. The price is different too.

The reason for the perceived "dull" box, which I happen to like, was that Aa didn't brand this as being a Mad Max product, because there were licensing constraints at the time. Hence it is only a tuned Ford Falcon.

New TV’s make the old DVD movie sound, POWERFUL. You might regret giving away all those old mad max DVD’s. mad max isn’t on blue ray or blue ray 4K.

    Needs badges

    • @dreyn7780
      @dreyn7780 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Wrong! Early buyers get big rewards for spending their money. Later production models may have the badges but that marks them as not being the original product. Ford rewards loyalty. I think they’re very experienced in how humans behave.
