The ultimate edition just looks so accurate with the different rear wheels and everything while the black version looks like the car that was used to promoted the 2nd movie.

I personally really like how they did the dirty version.

These are amazing! I have the Greenlight version 24/1 and it's poor compared to these... But at least I have a version of the car. Road Warrior is a rare example of the sequel being better than the original (in my opinion). Great review!

Thank you and the Greenlight is great because it now gives people a chance to get one for a more affordable price but you are very correct in the Autoart versions being of higher quality and detail.

At the start of Mad Max 2 the car smashes into another car and loses the remainder of the front of the grill and light assembly unit, the ultimate edition is why it comes with it off.

Makes sense, and you jogged my memory since it's been quite a few years since I watched the movie.

Theres even 2 more rare versions, 1 of 1000 with a black box and silver text, those 2 are the 1/2000 versions

I did not know that until yourself and others told me, those others must cost a small fortune.

There’s a guy who customizes the Greenlight model and sells them on eBay. I’ve bought the Interceptor from Mad Max one and this one from Mad Max 2 from him along with an awesome Ecto 1 with working lights and siren :) The big difference obviously is he adds working lights. Here’s one of his Mad Max Interceptors he muddied up if you’re curious. th-cam.com/video/AS5IzkU20bo/w-d-xo.html

It is not removable as far as I can tell on the clean version, and I don't really want to try and find out.

@@PitstainHobbies I have the weathered 1/43 enemy car and interceptor set Autoarts made so that’s good 👍

Im sorry but that Ultimate Edition looks like crap. The weathering is super lazy and a bad color. "Lets just Air brush some rust colored paint on the bottom half and splatter some here and their and call it a day. The only part that looks decent is the front windshield

    • @PitstainHobbies
      @PitstainHobbies  หลายเดือนก่อน

the weathered versions that come out are certainly not for everyone, I think they did a really decent job, maybe something is not translating as well on camera.

    • @rastanz

I agree, that weathering does look like crap!
There's a model channel that I follow "TrekWorks", he weathered his normal edition of the Interceptor and did an amazing job making his look more naturally weathered as in the movie.
I sold my ultimate edition and used the money to purchase a normal edition, I now have both the normal and the tuned editions, the tuned edition is the version where we first see the interceptor before the modifications.
I followed the weathering techniques used in "TrekWorks" video and applied it to my normal edition interceptor and I'm way more satisfied with how it turned out over the shitty looking splatter you get with the ultimate edition, and honestly, it's the only reason I sold my ultimate edition because of the hideous weathering.
The weathering we see on the box art is way more subtle than what you actually get.
