Also I believe it's been what 7 + years at this point since that came out without so much as a peep I think we can pretty much say any chance of a follow-up is dead at this point.
Can we agree the one thing the PPG reboot had that was good was the intro? It amazes me how much style that intro has versus the bland mess that it the actual show. It feels like it was made for a entirely different show in mind.
It has that punk rock semi-animated newspaper/pop art look doesn't it? I'd recommend the music video for "I like you so much better when you're naked" by Ida Maria if you want more of the same =]
The intro was made by a different studio. Makes you wonder if that studio made the show. The writing may be as good as the original, but at least it look visually interesting and include more action.
Sam Bradley It was a typo. I didn't include "not" in front of "as good" and didn't proof read my comment before posting. I'm still sticking with the idead of the studio that made the intro making a better show than the reboot. They portrayed the girls more like themselves from the original and not the flanderized (and somehow watered down) version of the reboot.
I still wish they'd done some more with the Dance Pantsed artsyle. It looked clean and cinematic, and different enough from the original to not feel insulting when the writing sucked. Is it just me there?
Im sorry am I meeting a human being who finds Elmur Fudd having a musical number deticated to talking to a sandwich with warmed cheese in a highly sexual tone NOT good?
Fun fact: The Boxtrolls are background/ancillary characters from a kids book called "Here Be Monsters!" I remember really enjoying the book as a kid, but when I saw the movie ads, I was confused. What sense does it make to have to make an entire film based around sidekick-style, single-gimmick characters who are meant for background gags at best, who travel in groups and are almost all physically identical save for minor clothing variations? ... ...oh wait. The Minions showing up next on the list is quite serendipitous, isn't it?
I think Avengers Earth's mightiest heroes deserves to be highlighted in best. I feel like it's become a forgotren gem of a show that really captures the spirit of the comics more so than the movies.
The worst part is that it's "supposed" to be in a shared continuity with that crappy animated Avengers reboot and the Ultimate Spiderman show, but they REALLY half-assed the continuity. Actually, I think that the Guardians of the Galaxy show was ALSO in on that, but then it wasn't? And then they kept retconning stuff so it wasn't at odds with the movies and... Whole thing was a dumpster fire.
@@GenerationWest As far as I can tell, that one isn't connected to the others, so it has that going for it at least. First season was a dumpster fire, second season has been... better? They hadn't adapted Superior Spiderman before, and that's something different at least.
I'd recommend Scooby-doo Mystery Inc. for the best list, that show was criminally underappreciated when it released and it irks me because if it was released toward the end of the decade it'd be such a huge source of memes
I saw a few episodes of it and I can actually appreciate how it deconstucted the standard formula of scooby do and even managed to be self-aware of it's tropes at times while also adding higher stakes and an ongoing plotline that gave some much needed depth to the group; sure the tone was a bit jarring at times but for a more dramatic retelling of scooby-doo, it served it's purpose well.
Honestly, considering that 2009 was the start of Obama's presidential term, you could make the argument that 2009 was the start of the new decade unstead of 2010.
We went from constantly bashing Teen Titans Go, to giving the show credit when it genuinely did something great. I'm glad this community has matured over this decade.
i live 20 minutes from the masturabter and saw the movie that month. I went farther up north though all be it it would have made my experience as a un diganosed depressed kid way more interesting
Best of the 2010s in terms of underrated shows. Motor City TRON: Uprising Wander Over Yonder All these shows have a few things in common. They were all released by Disney, and they were cancelled way too soon.
Wander Over Yonder managed to become one of my favorite cartoons ever even without the crutch of nostalgia. Definitely deserves at least more recognition if not another season
At least there is some slim hope for Tron Uprising getting a second season or continuation of some kind on D+ thanks to the studio behind it being officially finished with Star Wars: Resistance, the blandest cartoon to ever be associated with the Star Wars franchise.
@@Sleepygarr holy shit same sorta. I always thought it was an adult swim show that came on too early since it was always the two guys trying to get on a ride
For best: Over the Garden Wall Also Voltron, but like, in an alternate dimension where Voltron didn't shit the bed and end on a really crappy last two seasons because apparently season 7-8 of every show is cursed (cough GoT cough)
Back to the Marvel cartoon "Hulk: Agents of Smash" Maybe it was done that way as a stylistic choice? To me, it looks like they're sweeping through comic panels, which might be what they were going for
Making animation feel like reading a comic is a cool concept. It can turn out amazing like Spiderverse or it can turn out horribly wrong like Hulk: AoS
I mean, it DOES have (arguably) the most profoundly uncomfortable scene in a recent children's television show... also, THE HAMMER. Absolute "The Nozzle" levels of meme right there.

@@Phoenixifyable I still have trouble trying to comprehend that Adventure Time is a decade old. I dread the day that I grow old and bitter and go on about how we'll never have another?show like Adventure Time or Gravity Falls while ignoring good new shows because I'm clouded by nostalgia bias.
I wouldn't put Space Dandy on the list, mostly because this seems to be just western animation. I'm not saying that the show about a bounty hunter whose lifelong dream is to visit EVERY space-Hooters isn't a good show, just that it doesn't fit.
I was actually excited for the Powerpuff Girls reboot because I never really got into the previous series. Then I saw it, then all my excitement got thrown in the trash. You’re right, That show is the worst of the decade!
The most underrated animated film of the decade is Birdboy the Forgotten Child. Heads up, watch the original Birdboy short film before the movie itself.
i bought that on a whim because i thought it looked cool. big mistake. i couldn't even sit through the whole thing i was that put off by it. i even watched it in the original spanish dub because i wanted to experience the real deal.
Can I just say how absolutely amazing the editing and artwork is in your videos Pan? I've been watching for almost the entire decade and your videos have gotten so frikkin professional and perfectly nostalgic for the Late 90s/Early 2000s. Great work man.
Underrated 2010's cartoons best list: Trollhunters, 3 Below, Generator Rex, Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure, Big Hero 6 The Series, F is for Family, Clarence, Apple and Onion, Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated, The Looney Tunes Show, Harvey Beaks, The Casagrandes, Milo Murphy's Law, Star Wars Rebels, Wander Over Yonder
I think one of the most under appreciated cartoons ever was The Secret Saturday’s, granted it did start in like 2008, but it did end in I believe 2010 or 2011, never the less, it’s one of my favorite Cartoon Network shows of all time
Honestly, while I get why people dislike Marvel’s Spider-Man, at least Peter feels in character to who Spidey is supposed to be, especially when compared to his portrayal in Ultimate.
The odd thing about the Ultimate cartoon is that it looked like, and was initially marketed as, an action cartoon with _some_ comedic elements when it was really the other way around. The Pizza Party Podcast frequently remarked that the show would have benefited from a different, more stylized art style, instead of having bodies directly based off the molds they had made the toys out of, since that’s a common practice most action cartoons are often guilty of.
Popcultureguy3000 Honestly, my biggest problem with Ultimate is that the show kept spinning its wheels when it came to telling its story. Pro ably the best example of wasted potential came from Taskmaster. While I will agree that Marvel’s Spider-Man has its flaws, stuff at least HAPPENS in the show.
8:16-8:17 Thank you for reminding me why instead of valuing franchises and shows which give me nostalgia, I ought to value *the experience*/what caused me to become attached to animation in the first place..it's why it's important to learn to understand media.
Yeesh that Spiderman cartoon. Marvel: "Eyo, Ben 10 and Voltron. Can we borrow your character models? Promise to change them up a little. And yo, Second Life... We're just gonna straight rip the backgrounds from you."
I haven't seen a lot of it but from the stuff I have seen it does get a lot better after the first season or 2. The movie was great though, definitely check that one out. There's a few bad fart jokes which are really bad but everything else is golden.
Here's my list of the most underrated cartoons of the decade : The Looney tune show Wonder Over Yonder Dan Vs Thunder Cats (2011) Ben 10 Omniverse Generator Rex Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes Milo Murphy's Law Scooby doo :mystery incorporated Motor city Tron Uprising
That movie is so weird for me. Like, it's terrible. Offensively terrible. But at the same time, it had my friends and I laughing like idiots for a good portion of it. Yeah, most of the jokes missed, but when they hit, my god they were fucking hilarious.
@@xenocrimge6660 It was terrible in that the actual story and writing were on par with the TV show, and if there's one thing to be said about the style of the TV show, it's that most episodes can barely fit an 11 minute timeslot, so of course they weren't going to be able to write a feature length film. Now of course I didn't go in expecting much better in that area, but it was still terrible on that front regardless. The comedy was the selling point, and most of the jokes missed. When they hit, they were hilarious, but there weren't many that actually got more than a chuckle out of me. The positive is that there were _a lot_ of jokes, so they could afford to get away with a lot of them missing.
While the show often has bland and low brow humor, I have a slight, strange like for Teen Titans Go. The show is not my cup of tea but it’s not as bad as literally everyone says.
NecrosisNetwork A lot of the time it’s a really clever and creative show, but much too often it’s just satisfied in just doing obnoxious anti-humor referencing the large group of people who hate the show for its different tone from the original. That’s funny for a few episodes but before too long the irony wears off and it just becomes legitimately irritating.
From what I've seen of it, it's never been bad. People just misplaced their anger over the cancellation of the other Teen Titans series and then cranked that up when Young Justice got cancelled. Basically, the kind of people who got that angry about either of those things are the kind of people who would have never been interested in a show like Teen Titans Go regardless of the status of their preferred toons.
I agree with you as someone who does actually like the show I think the earlier episodes from 2013-2016 were really consistent in quality and full of episodes with good jokes and I liked how they kinda poked fun at themselves and some of the people who take the hate for the show too far. The more recent episodes have been mixed however some episodes are good but then others are really bad like both of the Booty Scooty episodes.
It knows its not the OG Teen Titans, and it’s the last thing it wants to be. Its childish and immature humor is there for the kids, but the way it just kind of stampedes through the DC Universe and it’s characters is genuinely pretty funny at times. Commission Gordon and Batman hanging out together and laughing at stuff still always gets a chuckle out of me. Also, the episode where Robin talks about real estate is the funniest shit to me and I have no idea why.

Nah, I doubt there's a sequel coming ever.
Even though the movie was a really good representation of the comic (minus the creepy uncanny valley faces) I don't think it did the numbers that it needed to to get a sequel or become a series. Also I believe it's been what 7 + years at this point since that came out without so much as a peep I think we can pretty much say any chance of a follow-up is dead at this point.

The only good thing about the new powerpuff girls was that intro
DOLPHIN the full intro gave me way too much hope for this show. Nothing has disappointed me this past decade more than the reboot.
it's weird isn't it, a lot of bad shows out there still have pretty good intros.
@@allendepacheco3419 I'm not sure if you did a typo there, but the writing is nowhere near as good as the old show
Sam Bradley It was a typo.

Fun fact: The Boxtrolls are background/ancillary characters from a kids book called "Here Be Monsters!" I remember really enjoying the book as a kid, but when I saw the movie ads, I was confused.
What sense does it make to have to make an entire film based around sidekick-style, single-gimmick characters who are meant for background gags at best, who travel in groups and are almost all physically identical save for minor clothing variations?

Oh god, is Hulk: Agents of SMASH supposed to be aping the style of the Ang Lee hulk movie?

I love that fucking show

Wander Over Yonder managed to become one of my favorite cartoons ever even without the crutch of nostalgia. Definitely deserves at least more recognition if not another season
At least there is some slim hope for Tron Uprising getting a second season or continuation of some kind on D+ thanks to the studio behind it being officially finished with Star Wars: Resistance, the blandest cartoon to ever be associated with the Star Wars franchise.

Honestly, while I get why people dislike Marvel’s Spider-Man, at least Peter feels in character to who Spidey is supposed to be, especially when compared to his portrayal in Ultimate.
Its just so bland.
I feel it's because he's obnoxious compared to the other versions.

That movie is so weird for me. Like, it's terrible. Offensively terrible. But at the same time, it had my friends and I laughing like idiots for a good portion of it. Yeah, most of the jokes missed, but when they hit, my god they were fucking hilarious.
@@SmugTomato It aimed to make fun of superhero movies and comics and succeeded in that front. I wouldn't call it terrible

@Al X. Andra Meh Spiderverse work better has movie then series.
The self aware humor was funny until they became self aware of that humor style.
“But it’s about the same amount of vintage as catching polio” *wrong year buddy*
