I would say there is no option to use your phone as a browser since most phones don't have a "view in vr mode". Unless of course you decide to find a third party option. And wvwn if there was am option the controller is more of like a TV remote than a mouse.

I rarely use the remote since not to many games are compatible with the remote. So you would be fine even without the remote since you also have a button on the top of the headset to select things.
U would just hold the power button for a couple of seconds and then it would be in paring mode which then will show up in ur bluetooth list. But if it says to get an app, make sure it's a destek vr headset remote.
Definitely youtube because if you explores the option when you watch a youtube video, there is an option to watch in VR. I am not really sure about Netflix tho.
If your watching TH-cam in vr don't forget to toggle the HD button so you can get the most pixels out of your phone. But seeing the pixels has been very hard unless the game is low quality but it also really depends on your phone too.
The vr sadly doesn't take up all your vision. So you can still see some black space at the corners of ur view or window view. But you will soon get used to it and it will feel more real.
After playing for some time all the weight is put onto your nose which gets annoying. Also I only held it for games, not when watching videos because games require a lot more head movement.
I think, it's awful vr. Not worth it. very blurry mostly, and easily get dirts, the strap is not comfortable. I don't have experience of oculus, but as this Vr was my first one, I don't like it.

I don't recommend it, not worth it
its stupid that it has no head phones for it that would bother me i bought one with head phones on it.
