    Dude, well done! I just added this set up to my 2 car garage earlier this week, and I'm loving it. I didn't opt for the black backdrop, but instead an impact screen for projection when the mood strikes me. (I Already owned a short throw projector) For those that are curious, the net that Alex recommended is quite substantial. I have average swing speed, and have no concerns about this net holding up for quite a while. Newly subscribed, so keep those DIY ideas coming!

      Thats awesome!! Thrilled to hear that man and thanks for the validation on the net. I've had it for almost two years and it feels solid as day one.

      @@JamonLomax how did you set your impact screen with this combo? Would like to possibly add that feature to this curtain type setup in the future.

      @@AndrewLovell-z8i I'll start by saying that this won't please everyone. This is "good enough" to get it done. I hang the impact screen from the same hooks that hold the net. What I do is I add a couple of bungees to each top corner which is anchored to small hooks in the ceiling in order to keep the screen stretched at the top, while allowing the bottom to float. I have 2 very short bungees that are about 4 inches long attaching the screen to the net on each side for maximum width. Note: I have the 10 x 10 net which allows about a foot of excess netting on the floor. The impact screen is 10 x 8. I weigh the net down on the floor in each corner as well. This gives me a nice image to work with, and I can put it up in 5min when I feel like playing a simulated course. Hope that makes sense.

      @@JamonLomaxThis what I’m currently working on in my garage as well but I got a cage net and will be attaching it to the tracks and bought a few extra clips for the sagging of net.

    Thanks for posting this video. I'm not tight on space but was having a conundrum on how to properly set up my space for optimal utilization. The curtain track idea is great and will work great for my area.
    How do you like your mat? Is it easy on the body?

      @@brocks2625 I love my mat, it’s held up perfectly and shows almost no sign of wear after a couple years of use. I spent a little extra so it’d take good care of my wrists and arms and it’s done a great job.

    nice job. I have a similar set up but I used aluminum hospital curtain rails and a 30' net. way more expensive but it worked out well. still not 100% happy with it because I want to have an impact screen to project the simulator on. if you figure out a way to integrate a screen into the design please post it.

      I think I'm going to use a 30' net as well. What did you use and where did you get the metal tracking as well?

    How did you connect the black back drop cloth to the hooks? from the Amazon link, it looks like it as a sleeve for a pole only.

    • @alexwilsongolf
      @alexwilsongolf  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I just poked holes in it over the hooks... a little tedious but I wasn't about to put on grommets. Maybe you could do safety pins but that also seemed like extra effort that wouldn't make a huge difference.

    Can you just hit into the curtain or do you need the net?

    • @alexwilsongolf
      @alexwilsongolf  19 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@johnsorensen5758 you definitely need at least the net. The curtain is just for looks, the net is what’s built to take the impact.

  • @alexdear91

    How much distance did you have between the net and the wall behind the net where it’s actually taking the impact rather than the side?

    How easy would it be to add an impact screen to this setup?

    • @alexwilsongolf
      @alexwilsongolf  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd assume not too hard. the rail is great, you'd just be squishing the screen down and it might wrinkle or something. i just use my laptop so I don't worry about the projector.
