Great set up Micah. The only thing I think you need is a pad under your front turf. I added half inch floor pad and with the turf you have it would be perfect.
I have half inch foam pad under mine as well, definitely help dampen the golf ball when it comes off the screen.
You also should have put some kind of rubber pad or thick blanket behind the screen to soften the shot so the screen takes less wear and tear on it.
Highly recommend you get GSPro for the quad as your software. More courses than you’ll ever play and better ball physics. You can also sign up for the SGT and play against hundreds of people on various types of tours.
lol like you think he doesn't know, or have access to, the most precise golf equipment out there.....
@@sfodge7GSPro is simulation software. Not swing analysis. It’s significantly better than FSX sim software that foresight sells. It’s pretty much the number 1 sim out there now and works natively with foresight, Uneekor, flightscope, and others. So your comment is a bit off the mark here.
I tried GS Pro for the first time this winter and it was a big improvement compared to the Foresight software. It's definitely worth looking at.
Couldn’t agree more
@@sfodge7why do people like you exist
It's cool as hell that you do all this yourself. Plenty of people in your position would hire somebody to assemble everything, but you did it on camera and got some cool content out of it. Well done
We agree! Super rewarding process being able to set something like this up by yourself!
Great video, Tig. I love these “non-golf” behind the life moments. Cheers
Also, yes pump out videos from this I’ll definitely watch every one of them. Great to see it is rather it over a longer golf match sometimes
Wow! Looks great Micah. Who would not want a simulator like yours. 😊
Great setup Tig. Having a simulator in my garage has been the biggest reason why i have been able to get to a low hcp over the last couple of years. I did a bunch of DIY for mine and got it done for about $4,500. It's worth every penny and more. I highly suggest that if you are serious about getting better at golf you at least explore the idea of setting up a simulator at you house.
Nice Micah! You'll enjoy the quad, we love ours! Good choice.
“Just to get a reference, I’m 4’11”…. Annnnnddddd, SUBSCRIBED 😂
Go buy a carpet underlayment for you thin carpet so it doesn't bounce.
Sweet setup! Shoutout to whoever did the seamless transition with your driver swing! That was 🔥
4'11", you trying to squeeze an extra inch in I see! Congrats man it looks awesome, can't wait for the game to all come together.
Damn man I am so happy for you dude. I love it hopefully one day I can build my own
The ultimate “Man Cave”. All you need now is a putting green. Congrats Tig!
I remember when I got my garage sim together. It’s not as nice as this from a setup perspective as its needs to be portable in case I need to park in there but it’s just as accurate and fun as what he built. It’s a game changer for those of us in winter climates.
Yess! Way to go Micah! I really look up to you knowing that even though I am a kid TH-cam golfer, I still have a name for myself in the community.
I'm jealous of the building! He should keep where the ball is hit away from the wall!! I don't have his speed ( 2/3) and I was denting my drywall!!
For sure! That's why we suggest at least a foot of space between the impact screen and anything behind it!
Just need to add GsPro now
Awesome stuff man. Would love to see a speed session. Keep going brother. Don’t worry about the haters.
Now that there is a great setup!! I’m sure you will be getting quite a bit of use out of the simulator. Thanks for sharing ! Brandon
Love the video, but the audio at 3:50 was brutal!
lol for real i think i woke up the neighbors at that part
thought my headphones were breaking. lmfao
I turned my garage into a simulator 2 years ago. I have a carls place enclosure as well. It’s been the single best purchase I have made in my entire life. 2 years later and i still play almost daily on it. Have to park the cars outside but it was worth it!!
Rock on! 🤘
Looks awesome! Definitely looking forward to watching you hit balls doing various challenges.
I do the same thing with my mower, and it works fine
That spray foam looks pretty good. At least it will be more comfortable in your shed.
Nice video Micah. I love the setup. Could you do a swing video highlighting the backswing at your new simulator?
Great Job! As a building guy I'm glad to see that you spent the money on sprayfoam. Spray foam will so a much better job on killing the concussion of the ball strike than metal linning. the only issue i see is that you spent the money on insulating the building but did not get insulated doors.
I just completed mine. Lmk if you need any advice or tips. For sure need to get GSPro!! Also got to Lowe’s/home depot get some foam insulation it’s way cheaper put it under your turn. About 1 inch be perfect. ALWAYS clean your clubs and only use new balls it ruins the screen fast.
Lmao “I’m 4’11” 😂😂 tig got some jokes.
Also you should put those foam garage mats under the astroturf to keep the ball from bouncing on the way back
Carpet underlayment would be a cheaper alternative!
@@drewclendenen1848 the mat is what I used but I use it for a putting green as well. The underlament was too soft for putting
Well done Micah it's good to see you doing things like this with just you and a friend, I wonder how many others have done the same or have they had someone do it for them, anyway mate well done and see you next time cheers.
Happy for you, Tig. Couldn’t help laughing at the idea of doing a simulator in beautiful Florida where you can play outside nearly everyday of the year 😂 that’s just a man jealous of your indoor AND outdoor set up!
Tig throwing the lawn mower is the most Florida man thing ever!
Pulled it though. 12-degree path out-to-in. He'll iron that out now that he has a simulator.
@@BotJohnsonu have too much time on ur hands 💀
@@Cheesecakeboi5You wouldn’t happen to be responding to people’s TH-cam responses, would you?
@@BotJohnson yea I am
@@Cheesecakeboi5So it’s just the irony you’re missing. Got it.
Deserved! A good spot to get better every day
Awesome setup, trying to get space for a basic setup in my garage. Just have a net in the yard right now.
The dream come true! Congrats buddy enjoy
Wow. I've always admired your swing. I told my son to study your swing. I always thought that height affected swing speeds, and I'm sure it does, but to realize that at your height, you are generating club head speeds at least in the 120's is amazing to me. I'd like to see a video with you explaining your club specs. I'm not tall, 5'8" and use standard length driver, always thought its length affects my accuracy, I can hit the 3W far better even though the club head is smaller. Do you have shorter shaft lengths?
Country builder man
That’s sick Tig. Post more, when it’s all dialed my man 🤘🏼🤘🏼
1” Gym mats from Amazon under your carpet to reduce bounce back. Then get 1” cups from birdie balls, cut holes, and you have yourself a putting green
Just him throwing the lawnmower got me to like this vid lmao
Congrats man. You've made it. lol seriously so sweet
Looked really big when you stood under it Tig. Big love mate 😂
Great set up Micha...it's a long way from a nail bag and framing gun ;)...congratulations!
great setup Micah....add foam to the front metal pipes...the golf ball impact on the pipes could damage the fabric or the impact screen
Shoutout to the editor! The driver swing transition was clean!
I can’t wait to come beat you on the simulator and that ping pong table.
I’ll welcome you with open arms
@@Micahmorrisgolf what size is that pole barn?
Definitely want videos of you hitting on the simulator
This is so 🔥 bro congrats
Heck yeah, Carl's Place. Checking y'all out!
“I wonder if the hates have this many staff bags” 😂😂😂
Probably looking at single digit handicap soon with the practice you’ll be able to do. Good job
Looks awesome! I have always wanted to do this in my pole barn. Wish it wasn't so expensive. Hit 'em straight!
Yes, the initial investment is on the higher end, but over time, you'll be saving money on range balls, greens fees, gas, etc. And we have full packages to fit many different budgets!
Maybe could be nice to have a little foam padding under the hitting mat instead of concrete? I honestly have no idea but feel that would be a little softer and easier on your wrists
Brother you should drywall the pull barn. It will look super clean
Nice setup...You need to get yourself a Mini split for that shop. Best shop investment ever!
run the projector wire and power supply on the piping on the inside of the tarp
Micah Morris, the man’s man of TH-cam golf hahah
Tig that is awesome! I wish I had a place to build one of those.
Jesus, you could hold a rock concert in that garage!!
Looks like you need some AC units. Couple mini splits would do wonders.
Love the set up Tig!
Nice simulator and relatively easy set up, nice upgrade getting a GCquad, fun times ahead
Thanks for pointing out that my garage is fine (which is very small compared with your space).
Wow that set up looks amazing!!
Congrats man! One day I’ll have my own, for now I’ll stick to VR.
The grin after the first shot - anybody who builds anything can feel that I reckon!
Such a great feeling!
Dude is living his best life. Trying not to be jealous!
Ladder safety guys are going to go off on this video
Love the build micah...not gonna lie tho, knowing your skills you should've framed this out with 2x4s and created a loft space above. Also def. should've thrown down a mat below the turf so the ball does bounce back at ya.
😮😮😮 I kid you not Tig!!! I just sold my whole custom Woodshop, Tater’s Woodshop, and I’m in the process of turning it into a simulator. I’m just trying to decide on what to buy. I’m leaning towards the new flight scope mevo plus limited edition with fusion tracking system which just came out. My goal is to start filming on the course and show “old guys” can golf just as well as the young dogs. Maybe we’ll golf together someday on the channel. I’m going to change the channel to “OMG”, “Old Man Golfing”. Still working on it though. Whatcha think? If you’re willing to talk about a system that may work for me let me know, I’d love to talk to you, of course! Have a good one and maybe we’ll see each other each other soon?! ‘Tater’
None the less, congrats Micah. Sweet setup.
Great setup, thanks for sharing!
Very nice golf barn and great golf setup. I could probably fix the lawnmower unless you just want to buy another 🤣
That edit at the end was smooth
Great setup! Carls is the best!
What a man cave , huge for the programme
The super loud bass boost randomly played was so funny lmao
such a clean set up
You could watch movies in there too 😂
Yo, the audio mix is tough man. The music in the middle almost blew out my eardrums. Around the 3:50 mark.
Looks amazing brother🙌🏻🙌🏻 so cool!!
If a coffee company doesn’t sponsor you soon they are out of their minds lol!! ☺️
Tell me you are addicted to golf without telling me you are addicted to golf..LOL...I am looking to do the same thing. I need a space to build one though..soon enough. Enjoy it man
drinking night at the sim would be cool for some of the homies to visit
That is amazing. I love it... wish I had the space and the money lol... Game Changer...
Have to admire his handy work skills, some of my friends can't even put an ikea wardrobe together.
Should have put a carpet underlay under the green carpet to stop ball from bouncing
Nice shop big fella, I want to have a nice shop like that one day
Kick ass! So freaking jealous but all the hard work pays off!
That’s sick dude, the only thing I would’ve done different (if I had the same setup and ability) is to turn the frame so that if you have your garage doors open the sun isn’t on the screen so that there’s no glare. Nonetheless happy for your success bud
Hell yeah congrats on the setup
Super stoked for you
grats, love mine, time for gspro
The skills test
Congrats! Hope you enjoy it!
That is such a sweet setup! Lucky lucky guy Micah, well earned. Show us a long drive session, hitting some bomb draws that you used to do all the time
Epic going to order 1. I want to see some endurance sessions. 100 x 7 irons and the average then get bryson to do it and see what the benchmark is and how far you are from the best in the world
Is this project a hobby or biz for you? I see you've got plenty of square footage. Do you have additional plans for the space?
I have really enjoyed my carls place set up. You definitely need some padding under the front turf.
