I'm just waiting for the Kirkland Signature simulator package. Lol.
Wouldn’t be surprised😂
They already have kirkland golf clubs lmao
Fantastic set up and upload Gabe.
Currently working towards an outdoor simulator, hello from the UK.
Just 8 days ago, you should know that the Garmin R10 does allow putting. Needs a little setup and a web cam but it does allow.
Great video's regarding Golf Simulation thanks!
Great Info. I always enjoy seeing some of the courses featured on these launch monitors. Different software, different companies really offer some great graphics these days.
Informative and thorough!
This is one of the best values and a great sim experience!
Thanks for the video! Nicely done, which bundle on play better do you recommend… thanks
Great video. I researched for a year before moving forward with a golf simulator for my RV garage. 10W × 8 H × 5' Carls place enclosure, Mevo +, Optimus GT 1090HDR projector, a combination of Pro turf (10x6) from Net Return and amazon, Interlocking gym mat for under the turf, GS Pro and already had a good gaming PC. Overall cost without gaming PC, was approximately $8-9k. Having a golf simulator has helped my game tremendously. My only regret is having a ground mount for the projector w 15 ft high ceilings.
That sounds like an AWESOME setup! 🙌
@@LetsPlayThru Thanks! If I can figure out a solution for the ground mount projector I will be set....hit a few ricochets off it. lol.
@@BlackjackCZlook up the bracket to hang the projector to the enclosure
I just ordered and doing projector floor mount but i have a protective cover. Is it really an issue? Im getting a little nervous @BlackjackCZ
Love this video!!!!
Great outline for what's involved in setting up a home simulator.
Thanks Paul
Gabe, your videos are so well made and you really know how to explain what you are showing. That being said and off topic for this video, have you or are you ever going to do a video to test and compare Dewiz and Hackmotion? I would trust your testing and review over anyone.
Thank you so much. That is definitely something that may be in the cards, but I’ve got a few others in the queue at the moment you really can’t go wrong with either, though to be honest.
Such a great video Gabe!
Thanks for letting me test all the tech this year, without you guys this video wouldn't be possible
Thanks!
You can do putting with the Garmin R10 using GS Pro.
I don't mind the upfront cost but this nonsense subscription based crap is disgusting. There's no excuse to have to pay $400-500 annually for a program
Exactly my same thoughts. An all ready overpriced piece of equipment that takes a dedicated room that is climate controlled that I own and they want $500 a month on top of that!
If they were actually serious about selling them, they would do a combination of lease the equipment with a monthly fee that you can put on vacation mode four or five times a year. I can get a membership at a local golf course that allows me to play a dozen our courses for half the price, and I am outside getting exercise.
If you don’t have a high ceiling garage this simply won’t fit in most people house, forget about a basement. I don’t know anyone with 10 foot basement ceilings. So if I built a dedicated shed if some kind the price goes up to $20,000 plus a subscription.
I will stick to the real thing.
I have 10 foot basement ceilings 😊 luckily I built a house not even knowing one day I would want a simulator down there
@@Fishneck10 good for you dude that is awesome
@@theworldisastage1984 are there simulators that don’t require subscription?
@@Fishneck10 i have no idea but that rental price is nonsense
I'm interested but out with the launch monitor yearly subscription fee. No thanks. I'll go to the local range.
I have Garmin and Im very impressed with it. Good for people who want to spend around 500 for launch monitor.
Is there a subscription to it
Thanks for this video. I have a local deal pending for an 8x8 carls place enclosure, should i stay away from that size? I tend to see a lot of 10x8 or 12x10. Will 8x8 be hard to project to?
Great rundown of home sim setup.
Thanks 🙏
This is a great sim! I can say that from first hand experience too!!!
Heck yeah!!
Ordered the monster mat a few days ago. Wish I saw this video first and saved $20 😢
Great video that covers all the basics for folks looking to get started. But just wanted to flag something - I’m running GS Pro on an AMD Radeon RX 6600M (2k, ultra settings) with no problems, so doesn’t need to be Nvidia.
Nice, glad to hear it
Love this video Weezy! I have a ton of square footage but no 10 foot ceilings 😢
Thanks my friend 🙏
Who wants one of these for xmas
Me
If I had room in my house I would
It’s been top of my Xmas list for years but it’s not in the budget with 4 kids at home. If you have an in with Santa, put in a good word for me!😊
Me
FoC (Free of Charge)?😅
Great breakdown of what’s needed (I do so want one). 2 questions: Do those mats accept standard tees (it didn’t look like deep enough ‘grass’) And, gaming computer? Wouldn’t a decent MacBook Pro work just as well? I mean, it’s not like we’re talking about intense graphics needs or frame rates like many games have today. Oh, one more thing…a good TV/Monitor for viewing your stats is needed.
It has a slot to tee into, but you don’t tee directly in. Macs unfortunately don’t work with the software. Everything is PC only.
@@LetsPlayThru I just looked at the site and it appears the simulator software w/15 (E6 and WGT) is available for iOS iPhone or iPad (Doesn’t mention Mac’s) but, only the 15 E6 for PC. Just FYI.
What about using a short throw projector ?
Gabe,
Where did you snag the green carpeting from between your monster mat and screen?
What software do you spend most of your sim sessions in these days? I've noticed GSPro has lost a number of the top courses.
Love your videos. I have a BLP setup in my house specifically because your video (nearly 2 years ago!) inspired me to go in that direction.
Keep up the good work!
I ordered that from a company called Syn Lawn. It’s nice because they could cut that to size. GSPRO is definitely my go to software wise.
Menards has cheap astroturf rolls you could use instead of buying expensive stuff for the non hitting areas.
Gabe, great video. Quick question. What benq projector are you using?
Thanks. It’s the BenQ MW632ST Short-Throw
I bought entire set up off Amazon on Black Friday . Paid $5k for sky track and complete set up. Everything provided by Amazon start to finish
What did you get?
Hi Gabe. I'm designing a higher end simulator for a dedicated room, 23.5' deep, 14.5' wide, 10' high. I'm curious what you think about installing pads and carpet on the walls and ceiling in the at-risk areas in a dedicated setup. It seems to me that this would be cost effective and highly functional for protecting the walls and ceiling from dings, absorbing ball energy, and sound absorption/echoes. What do you think?
I have seen some simulators like it. As long as the padding is nice and thick enough to stop the ball from bouncing, that’s the key, it would probably be worth testing out a small strip on a piece of plywood or something before installing the whole project, but it could work well.
What launch monitor would you recommend,I am left handed and family and friends are right handed,
Checked out play better... couldn't get just an enclosure or impact screen.. they seem to only sell the whole packages.
Could you give us the dimension of the enclosure again?
Just buy a used skytrack first generation. Works fine.
Can u get SkyTrak delivered to New Zealand? Will use your code. Cheers!
Have you had a chance to try the Full Swing Launch Kit Suite simulator? Thoughts on it?
I have, I’m not a big fan of it.
The enclosures arent offered unless you buy projector with them
A lot of these enclosures look like they use a kind of "tarp". Where does one find something like that online?
Should of went with a Carls Place enclosure
Hi Gabe,
Where do I get one of those hats you always wear with the umbrella??
Bay Hill
Just a heads up, when you fill out the form to learn which option you should buy, all it does it subscribe you to receive emails and the link to the 'results' in the email just takes you to the website. No bueno.
That shouldn't be the case, it should give you three options right on screen.
I wish I had the room to dedicate a space to this at my house. We live in a Townhouse and there is just no room. :(
What about software.. Who has the best graphics..
cheaper than you think then shows a $14k Foresight :( I'm out
What do you call the black material that you hang amongst the frame? It’s not a net… what else do you call it? I’m trying to buy one of those.
😊
I’m going to buy the frame pieces from Home Depot. I can buy some metal pipes and put together a 10x10x10 together
Enclosure
Surprised TrackMan wasn’t mentioned once.
Gabe, i’m not looking for a sim but a launch monitor for the range. What would you recommend?
Mevo+ if you have the budget or R10
@@LetsPlayThru although i am looking at the Mevo+, would you recommend any LM with the metrics displayed on the device itself? I appreciate the feedback.
So gs pro or e6 can’t run off an iPad or tablet? That’s my biggest hang up is having to spend an additional $1,000 on a gaming computer
E6 can but GSPro cannot.
Agreed. Sad the better sims run on window / PC when ALL my devices are Apple 🍎
Wish they would port like video game companies do.
@Gabe Which model projector do you have?
BenQ MW632ST Short-Throw
What software do you use for your simulator? Building a similator is on my list of things to do in 2024.
GS pro and FSX play mostly
I would need a separate out building like a shed of some sort. I have no room for this in the house!😒
Guilty 😂
I am hearing these are no good to use in Canada is this an accurate thing or what?
If we get the play better package do we still need to purchase a gaming computer?
Yes that would be separate
Is there a way to do this without having to pay a subscription fee on top of everything else? I don’t need to play “real courses”. I know it is fun, but not worth the expense of the subscription…
Mevo+ and Garmin both don’t require a subscription.
Stupid question, but if I built a man shed to house a simulator I assume you need internet access?
Yes
I'm afraid this is going to be an extremely hard sell when it comes to the Wife, Gabe 😉. I think l already know the answer. Another top video 👍.
I have faith you’ll wear her down 🤣
Gotta sell it as a Theater Room that also is a Simulator....🤔😮😊
OK, let us FILM an Install
My Garage has very tall ceilings and 20+ feet
I want it to be on a system that I can crank it up out of the way when not in use
but, the frame will make that easy
So, contact me about doing a video of this being installed
James
10'Wx8.5'Hx5.3'D might fit in my finished attic man cave....
I think the 8.5 height and will be too low unfortunately 🥲
I don’t see any %5 code for monster mat? 😃
LPT5OFF - I’ll get it added, thank you
what size is your enclosure ?
Approx 8x13
How does a cheaper mat cause injury?
The shock from impact can do damage to joints.
When did you get the quad. You had the bushnell and raved about it?
Yes I still have the BLP. The GC4 is on an extended loan.
its not the build of it that's the issue; its the location suitable for one without getting kicked out of my house that's my big problem ...
🤣🤣🤣
microcenter if you can instead.
I will check them out
How tall and wide is your screen
13.5x8
I don't see the monster mat link.

Home simulator is the dream….. one day
Would definitely increase the nightly rate at your Airbnb 🙌
It is unfortunately not a particularly cheap time to build a 2 car garage with the headroom for a golf sim. Or any year... sigh. one day.
Living rooms are overrated 🤣
@@LetsPlayThru who uses formal dinning rooms there days😁
Absolutely not cheaper than I thought.
This😢
The enclosures are just out of my range...
I need this in my apartment living room.
I have seen a couple of apartment builds, and the main thing you’ve got to consider is soundproofing. It’s possible though.
Oh God, now I gotta build one of these?? I'm not sure I'll be able to survive without one.... That's it! I'll tell the wife that this is an existential investment...She'll understand.
Good Luck, it's always been easier to ask for Forgiveness than for Permission! This may be a little difficult to pull off unless she goes outta town for an extended period....😮😊
A nice toy to have but you need space and money. Out of price range for lots of us.
Why in the hell would it require a subscription? Money grubbers. I wouldn't buy from them specifically because of that.
Cheap in title and recommends $7k setup. Sorry, $6k on sale.
Any product that costs that much and requires a yearly subscription to use is garbage. If you are charging a yearly subscription to your product it should be free
