2007 GSXR 600 Rectifier Replacement & Relocation Kit

- Replacing the rectifier on my 2007 GSXR 600 after it burnt out and died on me on the freeway in rush hour traffic... decided to install a relocation kit as well to help prevent it from happening again!

Suzuki did really bad job on rectifier location! There is another option you can do which wrap heat shield around it and works so great!
I love how you just go for it when taking your bike apart. I learned about rectifier on the GSX-R. Good video.
I had an 06 that I bought in 2007. I kept it until 2016 and had about 30k miles when I sold it. The only issue I ever had with the bike was the regulator/rectifier and stator. Great bike

I’ve mounted it in the same position 3 years ago and it still work perfectly.
But I drilled new holes for the bolts to adapt it better into the chassis and to be parallel instead of oblique.
I could never figure out why Suzi puts the rectifier in there. It may show after you relocate it, but it gets plenty of air and the heat sink can actually do it's job.

Quick question.... by changing the rectifiers position, did you also removed the horn since it was in the same support?
Where did you get your relocation kit from, I've been looking online and I can't find them anywhere?

eBay UK for about 25 euro.
But be careful cos the original holes are poorly placed and you will end up to use a very short bolt and the rectifier will not be parallel.
Consider to drill new holes to better placement.

There should be a metal rod under the passenger seat, that's to hold up your gas tank. I like the bungee cord idea though, bcus the rod is just right in the way.

re-locate it inside the air intake box! thats the best spot
Nice bike I have an older gsxr 750 with lots of modifications motor is bored out cams exhaust and lots of other stuff it a 1996 gsxr 750 srad I’m going to get a newer one been looking at the new gsxr 1000r

Otherwise you can do it yourself with a piece of aluminum.
There should be even a DIY video on TH-cam about it.

What about relocating it in the air box is that a good idea?
People do it but if you consider that the rectifier heat up a lot and the air of the air box that goes into the engine should be cooler, it doesn’t make much sense.
I placed it like her 3 years ago and never had any more issues.

Should of put it Inside the air box with the air filter!! Stay cooler. Look for a video on that one!!
You don’t want to do that. Guys have done that in the last and bikes have been known to catch fire. You don’t want to hide a high heat electrical components like the rectifier regulator.

How long has this second rectifier worked for? I did the same relocation on my second one and it only lasted 6 months. So I cut the wires in the middle and lengthened the harness. Was going to put in the airbox... but mounted it under steering stabilizer. So far working great! They don't like any extra heat for sure! I got stranded too many times to deal with this problem again! I'm about to sell mine! Beautiful bike but the smallest things bite you in that ass! Lol!
