Chris I find your videos fascinating. I appreciate you taking the time to film these and edit etc. Must add a bit of rime on to set up camera. Many thanks. 👍👍👍
@Chris Longhurst cheers Chris. Was it coincidence that it lined up? Ie would you have to have added something extra to receive the ridge if the rafter was off to the left or right? Thanks again.
2 reasons! 1. The Marley Major were on the spec (same as all the next doors and neighbouring extensions. 2. Marley Majors are faster to lay and work out much, much cheaper both in materials and labour whilst still looking good!!
Hey, I’m sure the ethnic and the blind groups group’s won’t be happy with your use of their id for jokes mate, and be kind to the apprentice gone are those dark days if hitting and telling them iff with “you’ll be sent up the road@ for the slightest mistake! come on mate be a good tradesman and guide them not knock them down and make them a but of a joke🙄
I didn't see him do an awful lot wrong to be honest. Just a bit inexperienced but hey wouldn't the world be a wonderfull place if nobody needed to learn anything. Keep up the good work young lads willing to learn are few and far between these days
Shit comment, very poor form. He did absolutely nothing wrong. You try being a fresh apprentice with grown men looking at you as well as a camera. Keep goin boy!

Thanks Alan, yes it can but I pick the times when it's more easy going👍
Great video. I was wondering Chris. Where the ridge enters the existing roof, did that meet up directly with an existing rafter?
Hi mate, yes it did and was cut at the rafters angle (of the existing roof and screwed to it

@@wayneleone the answer to both questions is yes!
Whats the reason why you didn't use matching roof tiles?
2 reasons! 1. The Marley Major were on the spec (same as all the next doors and neighbouring extensions. 2. Marley Majors are faster to lay and work out much, much cheaper both in materials and labour whilst still looking good!!
How do you stop the walls spreading apart with no ties in the roof?
Hi, the ridge beam is introduced to stop the downward pressure as there are no joists due to it being a bespoke roof! Hope this helps.
Shame you couldn't match the rosemary tiles, not many people pay for em these days
Yes that’s true, the rest of the extension on the estate had the marly majors so it worked in with them😜
gosh I don't look good on camera
That apprentice....must be blind bless him....Stick to the piano Stevie Wonder
