What an unusual experience I just had. Had to write a paper I was dreading
During the lesson I went from dreading to, dislike, to okay let's get this done. Day 2 same exact experience... Day 3 I did the exercise immediately before writing the paper and just got up and enjoyed finishing the paper!!! It took all of the anxiety of experience 😄.

Z Z I needed to undo something in me too. I was worried about returning a phone call and I felt some tension/anxiety/fear had to be acknowledged and taken care of with some attention. This helped. Pretty cool.

It's September 2017 and about a week ago I discovered your videos and thus the Feldenkrais method! These you tube videos will reach far and wide and for a very long time to come! I live in Ontario Canada. What an amazing gift and contribution of knowledge you are giving! I am practicing the lessons you diligently and am experiencing states of calm and quiet that I never have before! I love the philosophy of this method, it's gentle and kind and so gloriously slow. Thank you so so much for taking the time to teach and enlighten. Wishing you continued success and expansion of your business and practice!

OMG! Yes it’s another OMG video from you. I Feel like a completely new and renewed person after just a short few minutes meditating in and through my body with you. You are right, I believe Feldenkrais is better than meditation.
Thank you so much for the gentle way you lead us through these movements, and the contemplative way you have of allowing us to touch those sensations deep within.
Now, I will roll over and do the same thing on my right side.
    Ciao and Cheers 👌

Again your adorableness and not-so-random decision to do a lesson on video happens to help thousands of people. I don't know why but this type of lying down, mindful micro-sliding helps with not only neck and shoulders but just about everything- sciatica, lower back, etc. This is Feldenkrais at its best, as it integrates and conditions your whole body movement. Plus naturally induces relaxing state before going to bed. I have shoulder and neck ache everyday, yet now my left side feels so wonderful!! I wonder why achiness comes back every day?! Another thing I love about Alfons' videos is his curiosity and stumbling on joy in body sensing. I wonder if post modern people have very much lost the sense of joy in being in a body. Other than when I was a small child, I do not remember feeling just joyful just sitting on a ledge and kicking my legs, etc. If you ever feel inspired to do an improv lesson with you just simply exploring and following that sense of curiosity and joy in your body, Alfons, that would be really fun and enlightening, I think. What if my body is not a prison, a responsibility, a disappointment? I really want to be with my body and be joy. That is healing.

What a beautiful and thoughtful writing! Thank you Kayoko-san! ❤️❤️❤️ I also wonder about this... didn't we as children enjoy ourselves so much?! Where is this wonder of experiencing time and movement gone nowadays?

Alfons, I had the most amazing experience, doing this lesson for the first time. I felt familiar with my rightt hand arm touching my left hand on my left side. (The starting position of this lesson.) When I did it on my other side, tons of tears were released. I felt like I did not know my right side that my left hand was touching. It was very, very disconcerting. I am deaf in my right ear. The strangeness of my left side discovering my right side of my body was so touching. Thank you. I will keep going back to this lesson.

Engaging and enjoyable, Thanks. The fast lesson recap at the beginning is a huge plus I've not seen before. Instead of having to watch the whole video before doing it, watching the last preview at the beginning takes only seconds, makes doing it easier, and enhances comprehension enormously.

Hello Alfons, Yes, this lesson is better than meditation because of the mindful awareness. I could feel my mind relaxing completely. And as you quoted Blade Runner, that time is the fire of time. I repeated the lesson on the right side. The lessons are a joy. While doing the rolling on the left side, I felt my right hip joint creak and release, which is rather good since it seems quite locked in with limited outward rotation. So amazing workout for the entire spine. Time flew doing both sides. Thank you for your easy listening videos.

The more I do this, the more I love it. After a busy day... I felt stiff and although I could lie down it was not what my body needed. It was late afternoon I just could not relax due to pain... but just lying down was not the answer..... I knew I needed to move, to open my joints.... in a gentle, pleasant way that would undo my twisted tight spine, neck and shoulders. Throwing a soft ball, heating pad and icepack in the middle of the floor.... I moved these items around my body... whilst my laptop played this video..... gradually I eased the ice and heat away... as I flowed in to the movements.... What a difference, I feel soft and relaxed and now I will commence with the right side..... wonderful way to wind down my day.... and know there is a pain relief and a satisfying way to keep my body healthy and moving.... ... (btw.... my neck is fused from C4-C7.... this is a wonderful way to encourage continued mobility above and below the fusion and to integrate the fused vertebrae with the movement of my entire body). Thank you. Alfons...

+Sandra McBride what a beautiful poem ! thank you for sharing :-) I too love this movement sequence. I too get down on the floor after a busy day, or before a busy day, or instead of a busy day, and do just what comes to my mind, to my body, roll a bit here, a bit there, take my time, nap a bit, half awake half asleep just roll tiny slow miniscule thoughtful immersed in a physical world and at the same time being in a dream

This such a helpful movement session. To make my hands glide easier when sliding one hand slowly over the other I put a silk scarf in between the two and they never get "stuck" and the movements become extra smooth. One can feel the effects immediately after the session. Thank you, Alfons anyone with shoulder or neck pain should try this. Tell your friends :-)!

Just an observation concerning the movement at 20:00 min: If, after I've turned my head to the right side and the right knee has lifted slightly, I then strech out the right leg at the knee joint my upper body and head return to the left like a SPRING; A REAL BURST OF ENERGY. Hello Alfons, you made a comment in this video about movement and meditation. I am a meditation teacher and you teach much the same way.. you are great teaching to be present to the whole experience of being in a body and being aware of all the subtleties of movement. I love your approach. I would like to comment on the word concentrate... to me concentrate implies a narrow view, a focus on one point. Your way of teaching is more like an open awareness, with a sense of spaciousness in regards to the body. You encourage us to move our awareness around, to explore. While the attention is to bring the awareness to the body, it's really more broad than narrow and matches the style of meditation I teach and practice. I am so enjoying exploring your videos. I feel a difference in my day to day movements. With gratitude, Bernadette

Remarkable! I have had pain/stiffness/weakness on my left side in several spots for years, and the last straw has been this year with plantar fasciitis. I did it up to about 18:00, then transposed it to lying on my right side and moving my left. This was the first Feldenkrais (or other somatic education, including yoga) lesson I did where I felt so much "popping" as I gradually moved, even down to a twinge in my heel. I'll need to repeat this one often to see if it will help me unwind the chronic tension on my left side.

Awesome videos, Alfons! Really likeable and relaxing way to give instructions. Those movements gave me an interesting sensation!
I tried similar relaxed movements before (especially in the afterglow of psychedelic journeys, where they came somehow intuitively to me), so this kind of body experience was already familiar in a way, but it feels much more effective to follow a well-thought-out method!
Thanks a lot for the work, i'm heading directly to part 2 :-)
