Hey, I know it's unrelated but can you still get star effects on divine accessories via big Sudama? I've wasted a ton of time already (I'm on DotD currently) but the bastard never game me a star effect, not once. I can't really find a definite answer on the web, everyone says you can't reroll ethereal but you can still do divines, but nothing in particular about star effects.

This was honestly a joy to watch, I know I'm late to the Nioh 2 party but I haven't seen a build video this well constructed, thought out, and presented period. Well done sir, this has reignited my excitement to keep playing and push for a great endgame build and to aquire the knowledge and experience I saw you display throughout this entire presentation.
@@TheMalitias it was supposed to mix match to fit your gameplay, you shouldn't follow build to the teeth just get what general direction of something, like for example I'm building fist takeminazuchi shock damage, but i improvised the equipment with what available for me atm, and instead of using sword i use a hatchet bc i like using hatchet, read dozen of build videos and learn as much stuff as you can with the gear available for you, grinding is fun anyways with how combat work
Another pro tip would be to apply the owl soul core strat before applying barrier talisman, so you can regain the anima you spent on it by doing a perfect ki pulse (actually you recover 6 from the 5 anima spent, that would be a little more efficient if you also have matching soul core with spirit type with a certain yokai tree passive). Since the buff from izanagi lasts so long you can do that totally fine and then buff yourself
Ty for the insanely detailed video! This clarified a lot of the more nuanced questions I had about certain stats and whatnot. Also the tech with the owl is an insanely good idea that nobody else has mentioned. I'm still working my way through the underworld on pc, but I'm gonna use this build at end game for sure (other than the weapons because I prefer kusa for yokai and tonfa for humans).

Wow your gear is out of this world , amazing affixes and star skills with god rolls. You could probably get trough the depth wirh this gear even without the set bonuses lol. Thanks for the video, this build is insanely strong.
Hey! Just played through the 30 floors of the underworld with this build and it was am amazing journey! My gear wasnt perfect but still pretty good though... but in 25-30 there are still some insane dmg heavy bosses which onehit you even through all the buffes! But for farming this build is insane! You never die because of the insane health-regen! Love your content and thanks for keeping me play the game ;)
@@brahmantyoihsan5938 yeah thats true... i had itemroller on my accesseries so thats like 30 % elemental dmg resistence i didnt use... so the gear wasnt perfect and still rocked the depths
@@Gaalinator It's possible to get 60 fire, water and lightning resistance plus another 40 with talisman, but it requires very specific setup (see Skies' Ace Infinite Critical build).
Great video! I came here looking for purity build tips to help with Nightbringer in the depths. Funny thing noticed is that I have the same incredibly easy Guyuki scroll discovered by Poteto. Was able to roll split staff dyad, ultimate stamina and Path of the Demon in about 50 tries. Pretty sure it dropped from a revenant between depths 116-120.

Great video as usually. How did you make yourself to be in B agility with Governors armour while having stamina and strength so low? I dont get it lol. I was trying to build something similar and governors armour always put me in to C agility even with 150 stamina and 50+ strength. So then i gave up and went with Heirloom set which works fine, but still curious.
I like the governors armor setup better than the veterans personally. If you get stunned mid attack you don’t have the advantage of minus damage taken mid attack.
Great video man. Very detailed! I'm considering this build for the Depths and I have a couple of questions: 1- How did you get Rakshasa on all your gear? I don't see that inheritable anywhere. 2- How many focus points do you have.. if any?
If u have beaten the underworld you want to get a scroll of the damned with lucky drop izanagi grace. Forge desired armor and weapons for build and use lucky drop equipped armor, weapon, and accessory. Farm the scroll to get izanagi and once done farm the depths to get oyamatsumi floor 6-30. If you have yet to beat the underworld you will need to farm certain floors of the normal underworld for izanagi grace. Google what floors u need to farm, you will find a list.
This looks like an amazing build man! Too bad i cant build it since im still stuck in dotd. Ive been using your "preview" build up untill dotd but the difficulty spikes on this difficulty are real
There's no shame in using people for help because dotd you go from like plus 10 to plus like 20 I didn't know that either and I thoroughly thought I would never pass it and reach dotn
Great video, very glad to see that what I was planning on doing myself is actually very good, tho I'm gonna run it with Dual Sword/Katana because I love those weapons more. I gotta say however that your Faster Movement (Omnyo Magic Hit) in your glove is redundant unfortunately because you are using Kasha, which has Faster Movement (Amrita Absorption), while they trigger differently, they are the same buff and won't stack. I ran in the same issue while using Tengen Kujaku and the Water Buffalo Horn Helmet and the Barrier Talisman, Tengen's buff are constantly being applied and so overrides the Increased Defense and Faster Ki Recovery of the other buffs. Good news tho: that means you can technically get better gloves now! :D
@@JumpinProductions So does the game automatically keep the better buff of the two? It always felt to me like it took the most recent, thus overriding your gloves' boost by the lesser one from Kasha
@@ShadRedfield Buff that share the same icon dont stack, the game will keep the better but he track the duration of all and if the stonger is over he revert to the next strongest
i use switchglave for humans too because honestly speaking splitstaff is a yokai desinator but a human cake so the both compliment each other in what they lack agains yokay splistaff just outdamage switchglave once that dragon dance kicks in

Jumpin. Great build! Axe in the depths wasn't getting it done for me so I've started the grind to get this together. Still looking for those right Omatasumi/Izanagi accessories (depths 6-10 still drop plenty of Omatasumi - gotten many, many pieces, some [weapons and armor] with grace inheritables) to get this more in place. Feels like I'm playing more of the game instead of 'Hulk-smash'ing' my way through everything. Question though - what are your title stats and on the build in the video what are your focus levels? For titles, I've got nothing in Ki based on a previous build. I suspect that needs to change. Thanks again!

Any chance you could make a katana (not dual swords) build in the near future? I know it won't ever be as strong as staff or fist, but is there any way to make this weapon good enough to clear depth 30?
Can you forge it? If so then make a full set, wear it and then temper both your accessories to have lucky drop (Equipped Armor) which will make it more likely for dropped armor to be what you’re wearing. Easy farm, already got a few good pieces just by going through random missions on WOTW. Don’t know how to get any other of the gear tho lol.

It’s a corruption build baku as main and sohayo as a secondary spirit with (Gozuki,Nightmare Bringer & ipoon-Datra) bloodstained blade odachi as a mian weapon and dual bloodstained cleavers dual swords as a secondary weapon
I always wondered why I get all anxious over human bosses and end up just jamming them up and taking 10 to 15 seconds to slaughter them, then the opposite is true for Yokai bosses with the glaive except they get me in like two hits. I'm gonna invest into the staff skill tree.
I subed, you have good video's but I have a question. Couldn't you melt bosses with any weapon at level 750? Thanks, Also, I'm just a nub because I prefer Axe for humans and Axe for yokai :) It's the only weapon ive ever tried though so maybe it's time to change it up.

@@MrKsan05 Unfortunately, the weapons aren't that balanced. Some performed quite well against both yokai and humans, while the others are underwhelming even in the best situation. As far as I know, the general consensus is that Fist and Splitstaff are the best weapons in the game; followed closely by Switchglaive, Dual Swords, Kusarigama and Tonfa. All of these weapons - except for fist, perhaps - have excellent mystic arts and would benefit greatly from mystic dyad. The rest of the weapons...sort of just exist. You can use them if you want to, but they're definitely subpar compared to the ones I mentioned before.

What do you think of using the trident vajra helmet to Synergize with the purification? Or does that one not stack with the rest? I dont have Grace's unlocked yet so I haven't been able to test myself
Nice build. Too bad I'm still at Dream of the Wise. Splitsstaff is my favorite weapon next to dual sword. I'm using atm Damage bonus Familarity on my ranged weapons. Mostly you reach max Fam. before the boss, unless its a short level.
Question - how does one go about getting Govenor's Ethereal armor pieces or sets? I have smithing text and can craft it to green. I'm confused as to how you go about getting it in orange.
You cant craft it in etherial but u have another Option. There is a Suffix i cant remember the name, but the effect is basicaly increased drop chance on the armor that u wear. So the plan is to farm while allready wearing the Govenor's armor until u dropp one with the right grace plus the right star effects its fucking rng but its the way to get it. same is for graces in general there is allso a star effect that gives u increased chance of the grace u allready wear.
Idk if this will get a reply but I was wondering if you get sloth omnyo hit on one accessory and weakness omnyo hit on the other would they both proc or does one override the other ?
Thats great and all, but just getting 1 accessory with Purified damage and Zero-ki damage is going to give you nightmares... You have like 2 star effects on every piece, so of course it is going well.
That’s what farming is for bro!!! Have patience.👍 I pretty much have his build perfected now. Just make sure u have lucky drop armors accessories and weapons on ur accessories u are using now. That will help out a lot!!!
I have tested some of your Oyamatsumi builds and indeed they are good up to last levels of Underworld. Im struggling at the floor 26-30 because even though I can withstand even up to 3 hits the enemy HEALS for over 20 K when they smack me... so All the puny damage I do is basically cancelled. On top of that some enemies like Azai Nagamasa are pretty much COUNTER spam ( even if you use active skills from SplitStaff etc. ) they will power through and either stagger or simply kill you. Sure Im dumb thinking im invincible with this build but honestly the damage is not good and I prefer to have lighter equipment as I regen Ki better and have better dodging. It is a beast otherwise.
I busy farming those Izagami pieces, but for the other parts, I need to finish the Underworld. I was thinking about the Nigini set, but its seven pieces bonus with Finishing Flair is fantastic too. So still thinking what would be the best set at 7 pieces
By the time you’re farming the depths you’re already done though? What build did you use to get there? I have a long way to go to get to this but really want to try it. I’m just on dream of the strong.
i have 2 questions you may be able to answer. do we know how big the buff is from todo (the damage bonus equipment weight) is, and does effects from elements ( like scorch, saturated, purified count towards the takenaka clan buff ( melee damage ailing enemy)? or is it just poison and paralyz?
Aside from the obvious gameplay differences, Would it make a difference if I switch the Glaive for a dual swords and Fist? I really don't like using the glaive
I beat the game the first time and didn't really understand about the whole armor pieces attributes and stacking and tempering. I would always offer all my armor to get divin rice. I just didn't understand as a whole. But now I do. So I'm wondering, what's the first thing I should do? Like where to start ya know. I need better gear man. I'm getting destroyed out here. Barely making it
whats the best stats to but yours focus points using this build i havent but any focus points yet cause you cant reset them is there a cap to how high one focus skill can go

Farm with Scroll of the Damned. These scrolls are obtainable from Depths of the Underworld (very late game), and they often come with special rules that allow you to farm specific grace more easily. Combine with Lucky Drop Weapon/Armor/Accessory, and you can reliably farm specific part with specific grace.

Great build, got a question. With similar gear and stats, I get nowhere near 7200 atk on the weapons. Both my weapons are around 6600-6700 and thats with star attack bonus and remodeled. How do you get so high attack? I've got like 20 points in the weapon mastery too but 500 atk difference is huge.
@@raymond314 Hmu on PSN maybe, psn Jumpinproduction. My guess is the focus levels adds 200 and my armor has attack on it and that is almost 200 and my soul cores have attack as well and my melee mastery is about over 30.
also idk why but i dont seem to do much dmg with 7 yorimitsu+ 6izanagi i have like 115% dmg vs purity and 100+% able to purify and always use another ability to also confuse them and still not high enough dmg
get light armor gloves with attack +23 or so as an inheritable and inherit it on all your armor pieces. You can also get +66 attack per max rank soul core. Also some ppl limit the active skills they unlock from a weapons tree, and put alot of points into the mastery skill which raises attack instead.
Is Susano and Ninigi any good or should I just follow this because I hardly find any switchglave builds that are up to date. I just like the combination of both because combos and ki damage. Like the idea is to keep bosses down with the amount of ki damage ideal and with the help of cats and untouched clay bells along with healing such through extraction/path of the ravenous/ and the talisman that drains life and gives it to you if you hit the boss. it doesn't do the most damage but it allows me to stay in the boss fight longer than what I normally would have to
Either of those sets are pretty good when paired with other graces, but not so much when paired with each other because of their conflicting gameplay. Susano wants you to use different skills to build Versatility stack; while Ninigi wants you to spam ki damage skills to break enemy as fast as you can.
@@Yes_Indeed-w7t *6p Susano/Moonprayer + 7p Ame/Maga/Iza/Take* This is a very basic build for damage-focused character. Almost no other set gives as much damage as Susano at 6p (+60% with max Versatility stack), except for Moonprayer set when you have only 1 HP (+61% damage plus another 6% if you have 3 debuffs). Moonprayer set main advantage, however, is that it makes you more durable with critical HP (-18% damage taken). The other set will depend on your gear and preference: 1. If you're going critical without any plans of being hit, or if you like using other elements besides purity/corruption, then choose *Ame-no-Uzume.* 2. If you often use yokai ability, and you have scroll + accessories with sentience charge, then choose *Magatsuhi.* 3. If you occasionally guard against enemy, and if you find human enemies to be more troublesome than yokai, then choose *Izanagi.* 4. If you don't want to fuss over your gear or playstyle too much, if you want all your bonus without needing to complete additional requirements, then choose *Takeminakata.* Acala set, while almost similar to Ame in playstyle, is not recommended because switchglaives have low block value. You are more likely to get your guard broken and leave yourself vulnerable with switchglaive than you would with other weapons. *3p Tsukuyomi + 5p Austerity + 6p Susano/Ninigi* This is a battle mage build, and it gives you almost everything you want - a jack of all trades but master of none. 3p Tsukuyomi + 5p Austerity gives you approximately: 1. 40% damage boost (~20% when reducing enemy defense with Onmyo hit, ~10% from Empowered Onmyo at 800 Onmyo power, ~10% from Damage Bonus Onmyo power). 2. 30% damage reduction (from enemy attack reduction with Onmyo hit) 3. The ability to recharge Onmyo Jutsu with melee attack, effectively giving you infinite use of powerful buffs like Protection Talisman. This combination can be made more potent with Sloth on Onmyo Hit (perpetual sloth effect with Familiar Talisman) and corruption weapon (+30% damage when awakened; it's possible to build close to 300% sentience charge even without Magatsuhi bonus). Again, the remaining set will depend on your playstyle and gear: 1. If you don't mind the complexity of using different skills to build Versatility stack, and if you like more damage, then choose *Susano.* 2. If you like simplicity; if you have plenty of ki damage and melee damage vs zero ki effects on your gear, then choose *Ninigi.* Edit: added note about Acala's Grace viability and some correction on mistypes.

Takeminakata is not a popular grace because the effects may seem underwhelming, but its damage boost is even higher than Magatsuhi (any set can benefit from corruption weapon +30% damage, not just Magatsuhi) and you get all the bonus just by equipping the set; no need to build stack or anything. Magatsuhi is only popular because of its synergy with yokai ability. If you never used yokai abilities (you should, they're very powerful) then Takeminakata is undoubtedly better.
Becoming tanky like this is not possible until at least late NG++ If you want to use staff or switch, I would recommend playing with light armor at least until late NG+. Or start with an axe or katana build. Otherwise you will have serious Ki problems. I started with fists and had to dump 50 points in heart at to start to combo effectively.
Just Make sure u have the zen split staff equip, then Temper ur accessories with the blacksmith and put in lucky drop equip weapon. after that it will drop like like crazy bro!!! Good luck👍

Most likely because those bosses use elemental attack. Far as I know, elemental attacks are not mitigated by normal damage reduction.

Imagine having dragon dance inheritables on all ur gear that would even make ur damage insane

Currently using the Legendary Shogun Set, wish I didn't have to equip the Odachi and bow for it, because I've loving the Switchgaive and sword

You should try Kasha with +70% yokai ability damage, it melts yokai bosses super fast, though shit against humans.
Great video, very glad to see that what I was planning on doing myself is actually very good, tho I'm gonna run it with Dual Sword/Katana because I love those weapons more. I gotta say however that your Faster Movement (Omnyo Magic Hit) in your glove is redundant unfortunately because you are using Kasha, which has Faster Movement (Amrita Absorption), while they trigger differently, they are the same buff and won't stack. I ran in the same issue while using Tengen Kujaku and the Water Buffalo Horn Helmet and the Barrier Talisman, Tengen's buff are constantly being applied and so overrides the Increased Defense and Faster Ki Recovery of the other buffs. Good news tho: that means you can technically get better gloves now! :D
Well no because I like the tiger running speed of the gloves. Kasha is really low speed boost in comparison.

i use switchglave for humans too because honestly speaking splitstaff is a yokai desinator but a human cake so the both compliment each other in what they lack agains yokay splistaff just outdamage switchglave once that dragon dance kicks in

Jumpin. Great build! Axe in the depths wasn't getting it done for me so I've started the grind to get this together. Still looking for those right Omatasumi/Izanagi accessories (depths 6-10 still drop plenty of Omatasumi - gotten many, many pieces, some [weapons and armor] with grace inheritables) to get this more in place. Feels like I'm playing more of the game instead of 'Hulk-smash'ing' my way through everything.
Question though - what are your title stats and on the build in the video what are your focus levels? For titles, I've got nothing in Ki based on a previous build. I suspect that needs to change.

Can you forge it? If so then make a full set, wear it and then temper both your accessories to have lucky drop (Equipped Armor) which will make it more likely for dropped armor to be what you’re wearing. Easy farm, already got a few good pieces just by going through random missions on WOTW. Don’t know how to get any other of the gear tho lol.

What do u think about 7 pieces of Sarutahiko and 6 pieces of magatsuhi with Governor’s set ? It’s a corruption build baku as main and sohayo as a secondary spirit with (Gozuki,Nightmare Bringer & ipoon-Datra) bloodstained blade odachi as a mian weapon and dual bloodstained cleavers dual swords as a secondary weapon
I always wondered why I get all anxious over human bosses and end up just jamming them up and taking 10 to 15 seconds to slaughter them, then the opposite is true for Yokai bosses with the glaive except they get me in like two hits. I'm gonna invest into the staff skill tree.

@@MrKsan05 Unfortunately, the weapons aren't that balanced. Some performed quite well against both yokai and humans, while the others are underwhelming even in the best situation.
As far as I know, the general consensus is that Fist and Splitstaff are the best weapons in the game; followed closely by Switchglaive, Dual Swords, Kusarigama and Tonfa. All of these weapons - except for fist, perhaps - have excellent mystic arts and would benefit greatly from mystic dyad.
The rest of the weapons...sort of just exist. You can use them if you want to, but they're definitely subpar compared to the ones I mentioned before.

Nice build. Too bad I'm still at Dream of the Wise. Splitsstaff is my favorite weapon next to dual sword. I'm using atm Damage bonus Familarity on my ranged weapons. Mostly you reach max Fam. before the boss, unless its a short level.

Question - how does one go about getting Govenor's Ethereal armor pieces or sets? I have smithing text and can craft it to green. I'm confused as to how you go about getting it in orange.
You cant craft it in etherial but u have another Option.
There is a Suffix i cant remember the name, but the effect is basicaly increased drop chance on the armor that u wear. So the plan is to farm while allready wearing the Govenor's armor until u dropp one with the right grace plus the right star effects its fucking rng but its the way to get it. same is for graces in general there is allso a star effect that gives u increased chance of the grace u allready wear.

Thats great and all, but just getting 1 accessory with Purified damage and Zero-ki damage is going to give you nightmares... You have like 2 star effects on every piece, so of course it is going well.

I have tested some of your Oyamatsumi builds and indeed they are good up to last levels of Underworld. Im struggling at the floor 26-30 because even though I can withstand even up to 3 hits the enemy HEALS for over 20 K when they smack me... so All the puny damage I do is basically cancelled. On top of that some enemies like Azai Nagamasa are pretty much COUNTER spam ( even if you use active skills from SplitStaff etc. ) they will power through and either stagger or simply kill you. Sure Im dumb thinking im invincible with this build but honestly the damage is not good and I prefer to have lighter equipment as I regen Ki better and have better dodging. It is a beast otherwise.

I busy farming those Izagami pieces, but for the other parts, I need to finish the Underworld. I was thinking about the Nigini set, but its seven pieces bonus with Finishing Flair is fantastic too. So still thinking what would be the best set at 7 pieces

i have 2 questions you may be able to answer. do we know how big the buff is from todo (the damage bonus equipment weight) is, and does effects from elements ( like scorch, saturated, purified count towards the takenaka clan buff ( melee damage ailing enemy)? or is it just poison and paralyz?
Melee damage vs ailing enemies is any status effect and that is everything. Todo clan buff is like 5% and higher if you are heavy .

im still in early game, but having played nioh 1 a lot, i want to know how do you get desired star skills alongside desired grace? insane amount of save scumming/farming or is there a method to this madness?
Farm with Scroll of the Damned.
These scrolls are obtainable from Depths of the Underworld (very late game), and they often come with special rules that allow you to farm specific grace more easily.
Combine with Lucky Drop Weapon/Armor/Accessory, and you can reliably farm specific part with specific grace.
What Soul Core does he mention as an alternative to Gozuki? I'm hearing "Impa" but that's not it.

Temper Lucky Drop (Armor) on your accessory. This will increase your chance of receiving currently equipped armor.
What the comment said is correct. The problem is if you have not beaten normal underworld it is just really hard to get it on the armor you want.

Great build, got a question. With similar gear and stats, I get nowhere near 7200 atk on the weapons. Both my weapons are around 6600-6700 and thats with star attack bonus and remodeled. How do you get so high attack? I've got like 20 points in the weapon mastery too but 500 atk difference is huge.

get light armor gloves with attack +23 or so as an inheritable and inherit it on all your armor pieces. You can also get +66 attack per max rank soul core. Also some ppl limit the active skills they unlock from a weapons tree, and put alot of points into the mastery skill which raises attack instead.

Is Susano and Ninigi any good or should I just follow this because I hardly find any switchglave builds that are up to date. I just like the combination of both because combos and ki damage.
Like the idea is to keep bosses down with the amount of ki damage ideal and with the help of cats and untouched clay bells along with healing such through extraction/path of the ravenous/ and the talisman that drains life and gives it to you if you hit the boss. it doesn't do the most damage but it allows me to stay in the boss fight longer than what I normally would have to
Either of those sets are pretty good when paired with other graces, but not so much when paired with each other because of their conflicting gameplay.
Susano wants you to use different skills to build Versatility stack; while Ninigi wants you to spam ki damage skills to break enemy as fast as you can.

*6p Susano/Moonprayer + 7p Ame/Maga/Iza/Take*
This is a very basic build for damage-focused character. Almost no other set gives as much damage as Susano at 6p (+60% with max Versatility stack), except for Moonprayer set when you have only 1 HP (+61% damage plus another 6% if you have 3 debuffs). Moonprayer set main advantage, however, is that it makes you more durable with critical HP (-18% damage taken).
The other set will depend on your gear and preference:
1. If you're going critical without any plans of being hit, or if you like using other elements besides purity/corruption, then choose *Ame-no-Uzume.*
2. If you often use yokai ability, and you have scroll + accessories with sentience charge, then choose *Magatsuhi.*
3. If you occasionally guard against enemy, and if you find human enemies to be more troublesome than yokai, then choose *Izanagi.*
4. If you don't want to fuss over your gear or playstyle too much, if you want all your bonus without needing to complete additional requirements, then choose *Takeminakata.*
Acala set, while almost similar to Ame in playstyle, is not recommended because switchglaives have low block value. You are more likely to get your guard broken and leave yourself vulnerable with switchglaive than you would with other weapons.
*3p Tsukuyomi + 5p Austerity + 6p Susano/Ninigi*
This is a battle mage build, and it gives you almost everything you want - a jack of all trades but master of none.
3p Tsukuyomi + 5p Austerity gives you approximately:
1. 40% damage boost (~20% when reducing enemy defense with Onmyo hit, ~10% from Empowered Onmyo at 800 Onmyo power, ~10% from Damage Bonus Onmyo power).
2. 30% damage reduction (from enemy attack reduction with Onmyo hit)
3. The ability to recharge Onmyo Jutsu with melee attack, effectively giving you infinite use of powerful buffs like Protection Talisman.
This combination can be made more potent with Sloth on Onmyo Hit (perpetual sloth effect with Familiar Talisman) and corruption weapon (+30% damage when awakened; it's possible to build close to 300% sentience charge even without Magatsuhi bonus).
Again, the remaining set will depend on your playstyle and gear:
1. If you don't mind the complexity of using different skills to build Versatility stack, and if you like more damage, then choose *Susano.*
2. If you like simplicity; if you have plenty of ki damage and melee damage vs zero ki effects on your gear, then choose *Ninigi.*

Takeminakata is not a popular grace because the effects may seem underwhelming, but its damage boost is even higher than Magatsuhi (any set can benefit from corruption weapon +30% damage, not just Magatsuhi) and you get all the bonus just by equipping the set; no need to build stack or anything.
Magatsuhi is only popular because of its synergy with yokai ability. If you never used yokai abilities (you should, they're very powerful) then Takeminakata is undoubtedly better.

Becoming tanky like this is not possible until at least late NG++
If you want to use staff or switch, I would recommend playing with light armor at least until late NG+. Or start with an axe or katana build. Otherwise you will have serious Ki problems. I started with fists and had to dump 50 points in heart at to start to combo effectively.

Just Make sure u have the zen split staff equip, then Temper ur accessories with the blacksmith and put in lucky drop equip weapon. after that it will drop like like crazy bro!!! Good luck👍
