I was just watching one of the car episodes this morning and thought the same. Although, I absolutely love it as it is and a big crew would probably spoil it.
@@amyhedley6238 Part of the magic of the channel is that they aren't tied down to a single style. They've got the cave show, urb ex, camping and the odd car special. Big crew doesn't translate well to all of that lot.

I picked up a 2006 MK2 Focus for £650 and in the four years I've owned it it's never let me down.
I can top that (ish) picked up a mk2 Megane Grandtour for £400. So far over the last 3 MOTs it's cost me about £130 in vital parts, roughly. Admittedly I've done my own work and servicing but still, that's cheap motoring! Mind you, it needs a headlight bulb as of yesterday 😂
Mk2 Focus, really good cars. My brother had an estate for years, never put a foot wrong.

Yep. That thing wouldn't be more than €150 here in Sweden. Or just sold for parts.

My parents had a forth hand one for a few years before sending it to the firemen(they love training on volvos for car accidents) a couple years back. It was riddled with electrical faults that left it in limb mode and dangerous feeling to drive on the motorway due to its self imposed rev limit. The issues couldnt be fixed due to the cars software bein so outdated there was no update available to fix it. Only saving grace was the heated seats 👌

When it does the not starting thing, try starting it with the fuel cap unscrewed. The tank is meant to be vented, could be blocked and the vapour pressure is flooding the engine.

There is a few other youtubers doing this kind of thing, nothing new now. This is just they way it's going now with top quality vids like this, Top gear paved the way and the trio are quite proud to have had such an influence to create content they themselves love watching.

My first car was a 77 marina special, 1.8 litre and cost me £80 in 1989. My 58 plate mondeo 2 litre tdci cost me £400 in April. It had 4 new tyres, towbar and full exhaust just before being bought.

My first car was an Oldsmobile. I hated it, but Dad insisted cuz it was cheap. First drive the side mirror fell off, and when you stopped exhaust poured into the car. Can’t wait till next week! 👍👍

2008 VW Polo I took that car through floods, probably around the edge of the UK multiple times over without having to change anything, took it off-roading and through a dirt road that had craters and still worked like a charm, travelled from the north to the south with a degraded gear box and got there still least to say I put that thing into the ground and more so but that car did wonders.
This car content knocks Autoalex into the shade. This was genuinely funny and not forced like other channels.

500notes for an 55 407TDi estate, 179k on the clock with MOT. Now 181k, just done Devon and Back, Oxford and back (about 400 miles) 54.8mpg. Had an MG Metro in the early '90s. Never failed me mechanically, just rotted as I looked at it. Had a Fiat 126 (no brake servo and drums all around), 652ccs of 26bhp, destroyed the sidewalls of the tyres (135s) just maintaining speed. Children have it easy today.

i bought my son a mk6 fiesta 1.4 style for £250, yes £250 it had 8 months mot not a spot of rust on it, no one wanted it because it had been used by a plasterer so the interior was white, took interior out cleaned it twice put it back in, we have had it 2 years now and all its cost us is 2 tyres and a suspension spring.
cheap reliable cars are out there if your willing to look for them and your not in a rush.
the automatic metro is actually quite a rare car! they didn't make all too many with autos

By the way, if it doesn't start after fueling it, it's likely to be the fuel tank vent valve stuck open. A common problem. (It's an anti-pollution device that vents fuel fumes from the gas tank into the engines air intake. The valve is usually closed until the engine is warm. Fueling causes excess fumes in the tank and an open valve = mixture too rich).

I loved to watch Top Gear. This reminded me of the show. Top Gear wasn't good because of the cars but because of the chemistry between Clarkson, Hammond and May. You guys have that chemestry.

My first car was a 1995 rover 114gsi. Cost me 3500 a year insurance... only paid 150 for the car 😂

The original car actually had decent brakes. 8.4" discs with four piston callipers even on 1 litre base cars.
The Rover Metro had bigger front discs and rear drums and large single piston sliding callipers up front as per the rest of the Rover range of the time and if in good well maintained order actually hauled the light little car up very well.

15£ to get in the ENGLISH HERITAGE site, but if your from outside England it’s free.
£700 is basically scrap, usually last MOT, mainly due to corrosion, if you can gas weld to MOT standards like me and have the time, then you can keep anything going to a limit, then you need alignment jigs, most older cars have still good engine and transmission, but the rot sets in on the main structure.
Ps I would not do car welding as a job for anyone else as people can't see the time and effort in welding which is pricey.

My first car was a 72 Datsun 210. Vinyl white top, blue body. I had to add a quart of oil every morning. It had smoke barreling out the exhaust. I named it Papa Smurf.
