My daughter was overrun with zucchini from the garden and, being the only one in the family that liked it, she had run out of ideas of what to do with it so decided she would try her hand at zucchini bread. Setting the beautiful loaf proudly on the table, she waited for comments and finally asked "well, do you guys like my homemade bread?" Her son replied, "Oh yeah, Mom, it's really good but, next time, it might taste better if it didn't have all that squash in it."
I’m 80 years old and I’ve had those Texasware bowls since I married 60 years ago. I have double of all sizes and use them for everything. I also have the Wesson measuring cup you use so often. I like that you do dishes by hand. I do too. Love Celebrating Appalachia.
Tipper reminded me to share this tip. I make Zucchini cookies and I love putting butterscotch chips. I have no idea why zucchini and butterscotch goes so beautifully together.
My mother and I always add drained crushed pineapple to our zucchini bread. When I was a child, mother did a double recipe made into muffins. They were the perfect school lunch treat. They freeze really well.
I lived in Colorado for 20 years. I worked with a wonderful old farm woman. She shared her zucchini bread recipes with me (banana blueberry, chocolate, and cheddar onion). They were all fabulous! I love getting recipes from older women. They usually have some real gems! Loved the video! Thanks Tipper! 🙏❤️☮️
Bananas and blueberries go so well together. That's something to try. Banana and blueberry bread. I would love those zucchini bread recipe that has cheddar and onion in it. That would be a wonderful zucchini bread
I love zucchini bread, wish I could get my kids to eat it, but my husband and I make up for them 😂 We had an inch of rain last night, first rain in almost two weeks, before that we had a 4 week stretch without a drop of rain, our garden is still doing good but only because it’s raised beds beside of the house where the faucet is, so far the water bill hasn’t been impacted too badly but we have had to water almost every day, so far we’ve put up 20 quarts of pickles and 32 quarts of tomato juice, not bad for a “city garden”…, trying to bloom where we are planted. Much love from the foothills of WNC ❤

I’ve said it before and I will say it again; I LOVE LOVE LOVE your Texas Ware bowls!!! I have my MawMaw’s old Texas Ware bowls. She used them to make her biscuits. Today when I use them, it keeps her memory and the joy of making delicious homemade southern food alive!

Yes zucchini bread is really good with a cold glass of milk. We have to drink lactose free milk in my house which is just as good as regular milk . We just got a little shower which I am thankful for….pray you get some soon.
I put zucchini onions with Italian sausage on top. I wrap it in aluminum foil and bake it. 350 about 30 minutes. The sausage seasons it and easy clean up. My kids loved it. I like cream cheese on my zucchini bread too. Ooohh and molasses bread too. Yumm
My Grandma made her biscuits in one of those bowls. My Moma didn't like the bowl so threw it away. I would love to find one like it. Thank you for giving me info on where to look.
I have a new fascination with vintage bowls/dishes. Those Texas ware bowls are hard to find! I have gotten several Pyrex and Corning ware treasures over the last year ❤️ I’m 50 but my mother never had much of any kind of dishes to pass down.
We like this savory zucchini dish. Brown hamburger, add chopped onion, zucchini chunks and fresh or canned tomatoes with the juice. A little water to make it slightly soupy. Season with salt, pepper, dried basil, and garlic if you like. Velveeta cheese added at the end and allowed to melt. Can be served over rice if desired. I might make zucchini bread tomorrow, yours looked so good.
We're having severe thunderstorms, high winds, and hail in our area of North Carolina. I'd never had zucchini bread until my Aunt gifted me a loaf while visiting her on vacation. I loved it! I don't bake or cook like I used to. The kiddos are grown with their own families now. But now they supply me with goodies every week. Hope y'all get some rain, but not like what this area is getting. Your garden would be beaten down to the ground. Praying and Blessed! 🤗🙏💕🌄
The only way I like zucchini is bread I love yellow squash have you ever split squash took the inside out mixed it with cracker crumbs brown sugar some butter putthe mix back in the shell and baked them they are delicious that way they is probably something I left out and you have to cook the squash hole until starting the splitting of them and taking the inside out and mixing everything together not a good description of how they are done sorry about that
@@CelebratingAppalachiaI am in south east North Carolina and yesterday we had such a down pour with lightning and thunder. I measured the water collected on the porch at 2.75 inches. I heard Ira saying hurry up and make Zucchini bread Grandma 😂The bread looks delicious. My mom used to make zucchini bread, my mom put pecans in hers. Watching you brought back fond memories.
Yum . Hope all is well with Granny. Little Ira has a cute cry and a great pair of lungs. We like to have zucchini with shredded cheese and bacon bits 🥓. I miss my mother’s zucchini bread. It reminds me of the one you just did. Brooks, Oregon.
Listening to Ira in the background is so nice! Katie is a great mother and I know you’re an amazing grandmother and Matt a wonderful grandfather! That looks good! Thank you Tipper, for creating these videos for us!🙏🇨🇦❤️

We love chocolate zucchini bread 😊 I freeze mini loaves and pull them out when i need them for hubbys lunches or breakfast or on the go😊 We also love a zucchini hash for dinner. Ground beef brown, zucchini diced, onion diced, potatoes diced, salt and pepper on in skillet.

Hello from western NY ❤ I want to say I just adore you and the family I've just found your page maybe 6 ish days ago and I'm trying to watch all the beautiful videos you have posted. Also please give granny a hug I hope she is feeling well today ❤
I turned on your channel tonight and was laughing because I am making a zucchini cake...very similar less flour and no lemon..have been making this receipe for many years and it is from Southern Living annual recipes 1979...my mother had those same mixing bowls and I so wish I had kept them but just could not keep everything so had to pick and choose 😢...as my Zucchini came off this year I grated and measured 2 cups per bag just for making this cake...thanks Tipper for another great recipie and the memories.
My zucchini bread sounds like your recipe. We like zucchini cake. I use a yellow cake mix, two eggs, zucchini 1 and 1/2 cup. 1 cup nuts of your choice, 1/2 cup of pineapple crushed with juice. 1/2 cup of oil, 1 teaspoon of vanilla…when I have coconut I put in 1 cup toasted in my cake.
❤I love Zucchini Bread!! Thanks for Sharing and SO HAPPY You Shared with Granny... Hope All was Well with Her Dr. Appt. God Bless & Take Care. .today was My Oncologist Appt. It wears Me Out on Dr. DAYS.
Ahh, my granny used to make the best zucchini bread, i used to stand in the kitchen with her as a small child and I can still remember that wonderful aroma ..
I think were in pretty much the sme shape yall are when it comes to the rain situation. Seems like people all around us get rain and it just misses us. We got a little bit here Friday, but nothing like what they were calling for. My mom and dad are about 25 minutes from me and i think daddy said they actually got over 2 inches but we never got anywhere near that. I think it rained some around us this evening but missed us once again. Like yall, were supposed to get more starting tomorrow and throughout the rest of the week. I guess we will just hope for the best and be thankful for whatever we get. Hope you guys have a great rest of the week.
Yum …… zucchini and lemon and the chocolate sound yummy. The pies sound good too. Haven’t heard the word “sodie” in a while ❤. I have a special mixing bowl also. As always thank you Tipper. Love y’all ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Just ordered your cookbook. So excited to get it. You cook like we cook so happy to get yours and Jim’s recipes. Been watching you for about a 1 1/2 years now. I’m from the Ozarks and we have a lot of the same ways. Nice to see people who think and act like us.
That baked up beautiful with the pecans on top. My parents used to make a zucchini relish that we all loved. I have two recipes of zucchini bread I enjoy making and love to make stuffed zucchini with ground beef seaoned with fresh garluc and italian spices, or ust use Italian sausage, sweet onion and chopped mushrooms. Sprinkle the top with parmesan cheese. It's a satisfying meal with fresh Italian style bread too.
Now I’m hungry for Zucchini bread. 😊 I make a zucchini chocolate cake and brownies. I have to share it with someone since I’m the only one in my family that will eat it. They are not fond of squash like I am. I heard you all talking about it being so dry. That’s the way it is here too. It clouded up this afternoon and looked like we were going to get a storm. The lights even flicked off several times but we didn’t get a drop. Praying for rain. 🙏
I made this today and it is so very good, this is my zucchini bread recipe now, thanks Tipper for sharing. It is a very pretty loaf, I made 1 regular loaf pan and 6 mini loaf pans. I used chopped pecan inside and whole pecans on tops of all loaves.
Thanks so much for sharing this! I am overwhelmed by zucchini right now, what I started doing last year was slicing yellow squash, and zucchini’s, onions and bell peppers and made bread and butter pickles, not only were they so pretty in the jars, they were really good! Just an idea! We use them in potato salad and to just have a jar open with soup beans, cornbread and fried potatoes
My favorite zucchini recipe, besides zucchini bread, is just to slice, flour, and fry. We also make zucchini sugar cream pie, which is the favorite pie of Indiana. It really is delicious.
Me too in regards to slice, flour and fry! I've never heard of zucchini sugar cream pie!? I wonder if Tipper has heard of this? If you look at this Tipper, maybe sometime you could make zucchini sugar cream pie for a video?!
The bread looks great. I have only made zucchini bread one time, but I like it. I grew a few last year. I like to use avocado oil for baking and I bought a refillable oil sprayer on Amazon so I can use the same oil without all of the additives in an aerosol can. It seems to work well. We also keep olive oil for cooking.
I use applesauce plus a couple tablespoons more than the recipe calls for in place of the oil for cakes and zucchini bread. You’d never guess it’s in there. I’m going to try this recipe because it’s as little different from mine too and see what pop the lemon juice gives it. Thanks for sharing!
I love zucchini bread and just about any kind of sweet bread. Since I'm a diabetic I can't have any kind of bread very often, but I'd love to have a slice of this zucchini bread for a treat now and then!
Blackberry jelly is my favorite.dont like fried zucchini but love zucchini bread..i had a best friend whois in heaven now...she acted like she enjoyed your food so much..matt does too
Tipper for a different taste I add three teaspoons of maple extract in my zucchini bread, it is wonderful, learned that trick when I lived in Oregon 40 years ago. God be with you and the family.❤
My sister in law makes a good zucchini bread and she makes brownies with it too. It’s very good, hope granny is still well. Still pray for her and all of you daily.
You're a keeper Tipper! That zucchini bread sounds real good about now. Maybe with a little butter slapped on it. I liked Matt acting all civilized eating with a fork. 🌧 🌧 🌧
Thanks for the link! I remembered seeing that video, but didn't remember the pitcher. Your story about receiving it as a gift is heartwarming and shows how important true friends are in our lives.
Thanks for saying. My parents always had our large family pray before eating. Still today no matter if it's just me alone, I thank God for providing food to nourish.
@@SusanHarrell530 yes, they were both extraordinary. My Father at 19 married my Mother who was nine years older. She had been married to an abusive man and already had five kids. Me being the baby. My boys like zucchini Parmesan “fries”. Baked in the oven and we use Italian seasoning in coating. I also canned some with pineapple juice to use in place of pineapple in recipes this winter.
i think it’s awesome that you had p&j for dinner! It is possible to have a simple meal and be satisfied! you guys are awesome!! i made a lemon pound cake yesterday😋😋
As I was surfing through TH-cam I saw a lady making a 'mock apple cobbler' made with zucchini. I'll have to see if I can find it again. Your zucchini bread looks yummy. We got a small shower here in southeast Alabama, a couple of hours ago. Thankful for every drop.
It is county fair this week here so my husband and I have been living on cold ham sandwiches which, in the summer, are kind of refreshing or replenishing. I can't explain it exactly but much better than greasy, fried, concession stand or food truck food im this heat. However, we did have our 4-H club fair potluck last night and I made zuchhini bars-like pumpkin bars- with a cream cheese frosting. Or pretty much a flat zuchhini bread with the frosting. Lol. I made a tomato pie last summer for the first time. It was delicious. I may try a combo of zuchhini and tomato. 🤔
Hi Tipper Here in canada we have a famous restaurant called White Spot. There famous appetizer is called zoo sticks. It's zucchini cut into thick spears breaded and deep fried with side of ranch dressing for dipping. OMG is the best !! My kids love it any time of the day for treats or side dish. I deep fry spears in my deep skillet.

You and your family have just great video s love the cooking one's especially thanks for sharing 👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you 😊
We've had two days of good rain. I was watching this video while shelling peas I gathered this afternoon.
I love zucchini bread and just about any kind of sweet bread. Since I'm a diabetic I can't have any kind of bread very often, but I'd love to have a slice of this zucchini bread for a treat now and then!

Tipper for a different taste I add three teaspoons of maple extract in my zucchini bread, it is wonderful, learned that trick when I lived in Oregon 40 years ago. God be with you and the family.❤
Great tip!
In my Mother’s Mexican kitchen, she made stewed tomato, zucchini and onions as a side dish. I make it to this day. Yum.
Sounds great!
I like how you shut off the light at the end. It was a nice surprise.
I always like that touch. They do it at the end quite often.
God Bless the Zucchini bread 🍞 🙏 Thank you
Zucchini anything is so good!!!!😋😋😋😋😋😋 It's raining here in Clemmons, NC. Love you💖!!!
Glad you are getting rain!
The zucchini bread looks yummy. One of my favorite quick breads. I also use pecans in mine. So very good. Thanks Tipper and Matt.
I love everything you cook. I wish that you were in my family! Blessings to you all. I love each one of you.
My sister in law makes a good zucchini bread and she makes brownies with it too. It’s very good, hope granny is still well. Still pray for her and all of you daily.
We appreciate you! Thank you 😊
You're a keeper Tipper! That zucchini bread sounds real good about now. Maybe with a little butter slapped on it. I liked Matt acting all civilized eating with a fork. 🌧 🌧 🌧
😊
Thanks for the link! I remembered seeing that video, but didn't remember the pitcher. Your story about receiving it as a gift is heartwarming and shows how important true friends are in our lives.
We say the blessing before every meal. It's something I've done since childhood.
It looks very good! I love homemade.❤
Thanks for saying. My parents always had our large family pray before eating. Still today no matter if it's just me alone, I thank God for providing food to nourish.
@@barbarasue7191I think it's very important to remember Who provides our food. Your parents sound like they were wonderful people.🙏🏻❤️😊
@@SusanHarrell530 yes, they were both extraordinary. My Father at 19 married my Mother who was nine years older. She had been married to an abusive man and already had five kids. Me being the baby. All five went on every date. Together they had three more kids. All eight were his kids. He was never a step to us. He was a real Father. We miss them both so much. Take care and thank you.
@@barbarasue7191 What a good man your father was! I'm sorry your mom went through that before, but it sounds like she had a good life afterwards.
Sounds like a wonderful family. 🙏🏻❤️😊
@@SusanHarrell530 yes, thank you kindly

We love zucchini bread and make much as we harvest our zucchini. Can't wait for our first one this year!
It sure looks good. Wish i could aford to buy everything to make this bread. My granma made the best. I miss hers. I am 70 now.
My boys like zucchini Parmesan “fries”. Baked in the oven and we use Italian seasoning in coating. I also canned some with pineapple juice to use in place of pineapple in recipes this winter.
I made banana bread not long ago and I used coconut oil. It was actually really good! You might want to try it.
Enjoyed the video. Matt's so funny ❤

As I was surfing through TH-cam I saw a lady making a 'mock apple cobbler' made with zucchini. I'll have to see if I can find it again. Your zucchini bread looks yummy. We got a small shower here in southeast Alabama, a couple of hours ago. Thankful for every drop.
Box turtles got the few summer squash I had. Hope they enjoyed it.
I'm going to have to get me some zucchini and make some zucchini bread that sounds so delicious
I have the cookbook and looking up the recipe now!
I use olive oil but tried avocado oil and love it!
Thank you so much
It is county fair this week here so my husband and I have been living on cold ham sandwiches which, in the summer, are kind of refreshing or replenishing.
Your bread looked so good
Hi Tipper
Here in canada we have a famous restaurant called White Spot. There famous appetizer is called zoo sticks. It's zucchini cut into thick spears breaded and deep fried with side of ranch dressing for dipping. OMG is the best !! My kids love it any time of the day for treats or side dish. I deep fry spears in my deep skillet.
Sounds great!
