Hi Tipper & Matt! As you spoke about storms I remered my mom was so scared of thunderstorms because back in the day people had metal furniture & she feared that lighting would strike the metal. We had to unplug everything in the house. We had to avoid the stove & the phone. She would freak out if we were near either. She made us all gather in her bedroom. My dad was usually in the barn. Also I barely remember as I have said before I grew up in Vermont on a dairy farm. There was a rare time where we got hit by a tornado. It hit the garage & the outhouse. I will never forget sitting in a chair watching Charlie's Angels & the chair went up in the air. I was around 7 yrs old. It was so weird. Now days no one has any idea what life used to be like. Thanks for such a great video. Love ya both
Your marriage is so special! I was raised by similar parents. Sometimes my Mama would say she needed to lose weight. My Daddy would tell her, "I don't know about that, every pound you've put on since I married you, belongs to me". The simplest expressions of love are priceless. And we are so blessed ....
My brother said about his marriage, “ the only thing I regret about marrying Ruth, is that I didn’t do it sooner”! They were both elementary teachers in the same school. They married in their early fifties, and it was a first marriage for both of them! He has been gone to the Lord for several years now! I miss him so much!
That's what I do! Check media once a day and then move on to attend to my own responsibilities. It just isn't healthy for me. I do what I can, then do something that is actually productive. Healthier use of my time.
I've said it before, I'll say or again...Thank God for calming channel in this crazy time. ❤ It's wild out there. I can come here and relax. Much appreciated.
My late husband and I rode a tornado in June 2004. God was so good to us and He brought us through it. We were surrounded by ministering angels who sent two beautiful young men and young ladies to rescue us from our car. We ran to their car. My husband's back was broken , but he ran down a hill. The doctor told us that he shouldn't have been able to walk much less run...we had Help. God's great love and loving family and friends surrounded us throughout. Cured my fear of storms, I have been inside a dirty tornado, but our God heard our cries and rescued us ,again . Praise His Holy Name. Do not fear for He is always with you even in every storm.
It's such a pleasure watching you two. I got so tickled at both of you, the look Matt gave you when you ask if he was alive talking about a story and you got so tickled. That was priceless. 🤣❤ Have a good evening. 🌻
Dad always planted a new batch of beans, cucumbers and summer squash this time of year. They all did really well. We live in Ohio. I miss him, he died in January and mom in April. Last year was his last garden. The onions and potatoes we planted together and didn’t get harvested came back this year.
Hi Tipper, I got to join your channel, finally. I miss my garden. I was like you, going barefoot in the dirt and getting hot and sweaty working in the garden as a child. If you and Matt could find the receipts, neither one of you would return the other. Y'all are stuck with each other. Haha. We wouldn't have it any other way...know y'all wouldn't. Love y'all.
We got some rain in North Texas today. I think its coming y'all's way. I pray it does. so nice to come visit with y'all during all the news on TV. Just a nice change.
I'm so glad y'all got some rain. We have been so dry, also. God blessed us with 3.2 inches of rain in the last two days. We are so thankful. We are expecting rain the rest of the week. I enjoyed your video today
Wish you could get pap paw Tony on camera so we could meet the man who raised Matt. Maybe an interview? He could tell us some stories about Matt growing up.
We’re fortunate enough to have a creek about 50 feet downhill from our garden and we have an electric pump that we have attached to hoses and sprinklers for our garden. It’s a life saver.
Little Binx is so cute. Cucumbers are difficult to see cause it's ALL green, little buggers. I have been rejoicing all the rain, plus sun, then rain. Bless my kids' hearts, when they would be vomiting, I'd have to leave the bathroom. I'd give them a washcloth and stand outside the door in case they needed me. We all have something.
Glad you got rain. We're expecting rain here in the Pennsylvania mountains today. Enjoyed the visit and popsicle chat. It's refreshing to watch peaceful, calm, fun loving Christian folks. Thank you for sharing and God bless you and your family and God bless America 🇺🇸 🙏 ❤️ 😊
I’ve binge watched some of your vids and can’t get over the homey feel you two convey. U two r simply a match made in heaven. I’m glad I found your channel, it’s nice to unwind in a relaxing way. Blessings 💕
I’m in Oklahoma and went to Meteorology school in college, and while we don’t get dressed for every storm, but if we see a bad storm headed at us, we do get fully dressed with heavy shoes and the whole 9 yards. We get jackets out and lay them over the cat carrier in case we need to shove her in and make a run for it. (No storm shelter). I have to admit tho, I usually cheat getting dressed; I leave my nightgown on and tuck it into my jeans and throw a shirt on over it. I put my bra in my jacket pocket just in case cause mama said you never leave the house without your underclothes on. It makes for a quick transformation to be ready for bed again after the storm. I figure that’s close enough. lol. 😂 But seriously, when you live in tornado prone area, it’s just how we do. Love hearing your stories!
What a great story about the Franklin Graham book. I too used to be terrified of storms since childhood. Finally outgrew that in my 40’s after realizing there’s not a darned thing I can do about it.
Tipper, I'm with you about the gag reflex! Not so much the smell, but there are things I can't look at, think about, or touch. Matt's so funny, he doesn't have a bit of remorse about aggravating others, lol. I don't have a garden, except on the deck, but enjoying the recent rains down here in North Georgia. At least they're settling the dust on my dirt road. Love y'all, and enjoyed this whole video so much ♥️
@@maryjemisonMaryjay1936 And this is why I love watching her channel, as being a northern Midwesterner all my life, it is nice to learn about how ppl in the south do and say things. I love her reading of books, too.
Oh you two darlings. I laughed right out loud when you asked Matt if he was alive when ... and then you caught yourself. It just struck me as so funny! I needed that so much. Bless you both!😂
Yes ma'am there is nothing as good as rain. BUT, in the much dryer areas I have lived, you have to water or you will not grow a garden most years. In kansas, it was mostly well or city water through hoses, small ditches, and sprinklers. Etc., etc. In western colorado, there were ditch water systems in this semi arid desert. Both areas had amazing gardens. Love your videos and your whole family. You are good people! God bless all here.
Matt telling about you rapped up in the blanket during the storm just got me to laughing!! I kept picturing you in one of Granny’s crocheted 🧶 blanket like a mummy 🤣🤣🤣 I love how y’all just talk about good memories and ordinary days from the past❤️
I ‘m commenting too much on this video as I watch it. My grandkids probably think I’ve finally lost it as they hear me by myself laughing out loud. You and Matt’s interaction is hilarious sometimes.😂
To make Tipper’s dream come true, maybe next winter when we have a storm that picks up strength from the Great Salt Lake, I’m gonna bring Tipper out to shovel 8” out of my driveway. Or 20” over 3 days. My mother was in an Oklahoma tornado at 6 yrs old. When I was small, a storm would send us into the closet to sit on paint cans and read with a flashlight.
So glad you got rain!! Thoroughly enjoyed this video, especially the telling of the storms...I'm terrified of lightening, got caught in a severe storm walking home from primary school. So funny the story of Miss.Cindy tossing her shoes out the windows 😂 Myself my son and his daughter have that thing with textures...thanks for another great video ❤
It’s been a tough summer up in Canada for growing things …very little cherries and peaches but had the first corn today and it is SO SWEET. I normally don’t eat two cobs but we got a dozen from a friends farm this morning and holy cow the hot weather made the corn very good.Hoping you will get a few decent things ❤We just tilled everything except the flowers and will try again next year
I'm having the same issue with my rattlesnake beans. I'm going to pull them up and replant this weekend. Prayers we both get another crop without issues!
I remember I was alone with my dad. A storm was coming up. I told him that I was getting scared. My dad sung to me. I can't remember what song it was. I know that it was a hymn. My dad and his baby brother used to sing in the church choir. My dad had a beautiful voice. My deceased eldest sister and I love to sing. I was about 10? when this happened. Love you💖!
Oh my goodness...the story of how scared Tipper was during a storm reminded me of my childhood in Michigan! My momma would get so terrified of a storm and scare me and my sisters so much. She would watch the sky and holler at us to stay away from the windows and not to turn the water on ( because you know that lightening would travel through the pipes and get us!) and when it got really bad we would be grabbing our favorite toys and whatever pet we had at the time ( one time a bird in it's cage) and run down to the basement. To this day I won't turn on my water or get a bath or shower during a storm! Lol
I was zapped by lightning twice standing at kitchen sinks during storms. Also talking on the phone. ☎️ So my children were never allowed near water , No baths or showers or talking on the phone during storms.
Tipper, since you love coconut so much try a coconut popsicle, yummmmm! Love watching you all, you both bring back so many wonderful memories for me. I love all of the stories!
We’ve had rain at my house in middle Georgia three days last week and we also had a great rain around 6:00 this evening. Of course with the rain comes the mosquitoes. They are BAD this year. They never have bothered me before but this bunch of mosquitoes are mean and about eat me up! I pray y’all get some good rain this week.

Binks wanted to help get the bugs off the beans or help pick them, LOL That was so funny when Tipper asked Matt if he was alive then, ya'll are so cute and funny. I have a weak stomach too and used to be terrified of storms when I was younger.
I so much enjoy watching y'all working together, reminds me of my late husband and I. This Wednesday{24th} would have been our 49th anniversary and I miss him so,
You had me belly laughing there a couple times. Looks like good chance for rain all week for you!!👍🏼sure hope the predictions are correct. I see a first tomato sandwich video in the near future🍅🥪😋
Great video love hearing the tornado storms story's reminds me of my Grandma telling me of the Gainesville GA tornado in the 1930s how she and my great grandparents when to my great grandpa shelter he built when it hit Gainesville thanks for sharing 👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Binx isn't camera shy anymore. Glad y'all finally got some rain. We've had flooding in my area, trees down, and power outages. Thankfully my power didn't go off this time 😊 I hope your new plantings grow a bumper crop. I was watching Corie the other day eating her first home grown Cherokee Purple tomato 🍅 sandwich. I automatically thought of Matt waiting for his first one this year. Have a wonderful week y'all. Praying and Blessed! 🤗🙏💕🌄
People that live close too the earth listen for the rain . It is that important . Just received a good down pour , the grass will start growing again . Wouldn't mine if that weather system would turn around an come back to pour some more . All the best dears
I'm sitting here laughing, listening to Matt describe you wrapped up in the blanket during the storm. I sure hope you get a really big snow this winter. Y'all have a great week.
That was funny when you asked Matt if he was even born yet and you cracked yourself up! 😁 I hope your new beans and cucumbers do grow well. Have a blessed week. 😊💖🌻 I'll be back in the Appalachian mtns later this week, Lord willing, to visit my family. 🥰
I'm with you, Matt! I'm a gardener but I really hate the high humidity and heat!! It's been just awful in s.e. Wisconsin these last 2/3 weeks. We're getting a little break for a couple of days. I'm planting carrots now for an early winter harvest, as well as radishes and kale and winter squash.
I'm so glad you got adequate rain for the garden. The little valley I live in is partially surrounded by wildfires at the moment, the air quality is horrible! I feel so guilty keeping the kids and pets indoors, but it's for the best. Send some of that rain out West, please, Tipper! Have a blessed Sunday everyone.
I go to church in a small North Carolina town. My paster's son in law is a Forest Ranger Fire Fighter. His wife told me today he's heading out to Oregon to help with the fire fighting. I'm sending prayers to all of you that may be in danger whether it be Oregon or Cal. or anywhere else that there are fires plaguing you.
@@wmgirl041668 May God protect him, and all the others fighting these fires in this blazing heat. They're true heroes! Thank you so much for your prayers. 🤍
It's rain here Friday and today and not as hot.Glad y'all got some rain to. We had 14 rows of sweet corn we didn't think it was not to do very good. But we did 7 rows yesterday and tomorrow we have 7 more rows to fix. We got 18 quarts!Pray your does good.
I’m so glad that you guys finally got rain for your gardens. Your corn 🌽 looks pretty good. I just wanted to tell you something you guys got me hooked on them Popsicles and my favorite one is pineapple. I just love that pineapple popsicle. I haven’t tried them all but I have pretty much, so thank you cause I’m enjoying them. 😋
Love listening to ya'll. Tickled me had some good laughs. Lol my dad use to tell me when I was little the thunder was big dump trucks dumping rocks out. Hope and pray all is well. God bless.
I lost my blue lake bush beans and my zucchini and cucumbers due to hot cold hot cold watering then rain….so frustrating…hoping next year will be better. My hubby hated cats but I’m a cat person, after years and years he is converted and now Calvin our black cat is his main buddy! They are inseparable!!! And he has to pet Clifford our baby cat every morning before he goes to feed them at 6 am. ❤
I'm not sure, but I think that early 70's outbreak you were talking about is the 1973 tornado outbreak. I was 8 years old. I lived in Fairfield Ohio, just south of Dayton and Xenia. Xenia was demolished. I remember that day, my mom had us and our older neighbors that had no basement all day in our basement. I'm 58 now, I used to be scared of storms. I'm not anymore. I actually kind of like them, they can be beautiful, just God's way of telling us His power and control. I have learned to appreciate that. Plus, I am one of those weird people who like to go outside when the sirens go off and look at the sky. I know I shouldn't do that, just can't help myself.
Oh Matt and Tipper I wish I could send you some of the rain that we’re getting here in central Alabama! We are so saturated that trees are falling and the ground just can’t absorb any more. Storms that we had this past week tore down some of our tomato plants. I can’t even walk in the garden. I get stuck! Praying that your second planting of beans does well 🙏🏻

Binks wanted to help get the bugs off the beans or help pick them, LOL That was so funny when Tipper asked Matt if he was alive then, ya'll are so cute and funny. I have a weak stomach too and used to be terrified of storms when I was younger.
Love watching Binks the mighty hunter 😊
So happy to hear about the rain. Hopefully it marks the return of your normal weather pattern. ❤🙏🙏🙏❤
I so much enjoy watching y'all working together, reminds me of my late husband and I. This Wednesday{24th} would have been our 49th anniversary and I miss him so,
I’m so sorry you lost him.
so comforting seeing you two setting there eating your popsicles and hearing the dog in the back gound..love it!!
I really enjoy the parts of vlogs where you and Matt are just chatting away while you are doing things like picking beans.
You had me belly laughing there a couple times. Looks like good chance for rain all week for you!!👍🏼sure hope the predictions are correct. I see a first tomato sandwich video in the near future🍅🥪😋
Our beans really suffered this year. Going to try and replant some and also some peas and hope for the best.
Cats are a true blessing to vegetable gatdens. My two kept the locust from eating my guava fruit, figs & herbs. We also have zero mice now .
My Mother didn't like storms, she made us get on iron beds. We laugh about it now. I love storms.
Thank you 😊
People that live close too the earth listen for the rain .
You guys are awesome, I never miss a viedo keep up the great work. GOD BLESS you and your family. jo
Thanks so much
I'm so glad you got adequate rain for the garden. The little valley I live in is partially surrounded by wildfires at the moment, the air quality is horrible! I feel so guilty keeping the kids and pets indoors, but it's for the best. Send some of that rain out West, please, Tipper! Have a blessed Sunday everyone.
Praying Y'all Get Rain 🌧️
I go to church in a small North Carolina town. My paster's son in law is a Forest Ranger Fire Fighter. His wife told me today he's heading out to Oregon to help with the fire fighting. I'm sending prayers to all of you that may be in danger whether it be Oregon or Cal. or anywhere else that there are fires plaguing you.
@@JUDYPATRICK-vf9ql Much appreciated, Judy. Thank you 🙏🏼
@@wmgirl041668 May God protect him, and all the others fighting these fires in this blazing heat. They're true heroes! Thank you so much for your prayers. 🤍
Oh I hope you get some rain 🙏
Your garden looks beautiful! I love how you have so much in the space. How in the world do you keep the racoons and deer out of your corn??
Thank you! There are several dogs here and that helps 😊
Same here Tipper! We had heavy rain Sunday 🎉 Thank You Lord, for sending Your rain 🌧
I replanted beans today, too! So grateful for the rain we are getting here in East TN!
I really love your tender heart, Tipper. Loved that priceless look on Matt's face too😂😂😊😊
Yay! God's precious rain ❤🙏🏽
😊
It's rain here Friday and today and not as hot.Glad y'all got some rain to. We had 14 rows of sweet corn we didn't think it was not to do very good. But we did 7 rows yesterday and tomorrow we have 7 more rows to fix. We got 18 quarts!Pray your does good.
Yay for corn!
@@Susan-n3o3e Pineapple 🍍 is my favorite too! Love and blessings! 🩷🙏
What a beautiful garden!!
😊
I know you haven't had enough rain, but your garden is still beautiful. Blessings and prayers...
Y'all definitely need to get Binx a red Georgia bulldog collar in honor of Miss Cindy ❤🙏😊
Love hearing storms! Thankful y’all got some rain! God bless y’all! 😀❤️
You guys are hilarious!😆
Loooove your videos!💝
Enjoyed the video. Binks was sure enjoying himself! Glad you got rain. Hopefully more to come. ❤❤
Y’all work together so well. Retirement keeps y’all busy, and y’all seem to really enjoy it. Great video as always!
Thanks so much
Love all the stories y’all tell! Thanks😊Regina
Thank you foranother nice visit.God Bless. 💚&🙏's for all. Jeans
I’m ready for November cool wind for sure😂absolutely love watching y’all ❤y’all crack me up 😂
Oh Matt and Tipper I wish I could send you some of the rain that we’re getting here in central Alabama! We are so saturated that trees are falling and the ground just can’t absorb any more. Storms that we had this past week tore down some of our tomato plants. I can’t even walk in the garden. I get stuck! Praying that your second planting of beans does well 🙏🏻
I’m sorry for the bad weather. Thank you for watching 😊
I’ve been wanting to see the cornfield and how big it’s getting. The cornstalks are beautiful!🌽
Thank you 😊
