    Intensity of Light Increases or remains same when passes through a clear solution (less than 15 PPM.) &
    Intensity of Light falls down when it passes with OWS sample.
    Note 16:19 Intensity of Light Decreases when it passes through oil content sample.
    Thank-you.

    Sir I have read that the pump that tranfer oil water from Wells to holding tank,is reciprocating type and the one that tranfer the fluid from holding tank to ows is a mono screw pump is it right everytime or ship specific?

  • @makerlife4103

    I have a doubt.
    Initially When we fill water from overboard in the OWS using the centrifugal pump , wont the air inside the fist stage gets trapped at the top of the chamber ? I'm having this dount since the outlet of water from first stage is from the bottom of the first stage. And also there is no provision for that air trapped at the top of the chamber to vent. The capacitance probe will not sense oil in the oil chamber and hence will not open the pneumatic operated diaphragm valve.
    As per the drawing you made, I think air will remain trapped at top
    Please clarify. I have not yet worked on a vessel fitted with OWS and I'll soon be joining one .
    Thanks in advance
    By the way , excellent delivery and clear explanation
    Regards

    Sir,how to measure scavenge performance?

  • @sugarspicesatya
    @sugarspicesatya 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Well expalined, Just clear this line, If the content is clear (i.e less than 15 ppm) what will be the intensity of light? And what will be the intensity of light if the contents is having more than 15ppm. In the video at 16:19 you said greater intensity for bothe cases. Please clarify.

    • @searainly
      @searainly  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      At 16:19 The intensity of Light Decreases not Increases. And the Intensity of light both cases depends on photoelectric current.i.e the strength of photoelectric cell.
      If the light is fall on to the clear solution greater intensity
      If the light is fall on to the OWS sample lesser intensity.(Because oil content is there).

    Excuse me Sir Why heating of bilge is not done before going to gravity separation or during gravity separation . Since heating increases density difference?

    • @searainly
      @searainly  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes heating arrangement is there in Integrated Bilge water treatment process prior to enter the ows.. Heating arrangement for the bilge primary tank to facilitate separation of oil.

    Sir bilge pump is centrifugal or reciprocating ? Please clear ! I had read on Google It was centrifugal for greater flow rate ..

    • @searainly
      @searainly  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Technically both Reciprocating as well as centrifugal pump can be used.The rate of flow provided by a reciprocating type is lesser than that of the centrifugal type.(But Reciprocating pump is self priming)
      Nowadays centrifugal pumps are generally used as bilge pumps as they provide greater output rate and take lesser time for the pumping. But in some ships Bilge pump is Reciprocating pump Although it is lesser flow rate but it reduces day by day.
      Thank you!

    In few diagrams of oily water seperator in the internet I have noticed in the second stage filter there is no capacitance probe instead there is oil level sensor.
    Can you please clarify

    • @searainly

      IDK the exact reason... May be it's depends on manufacturer to manufacturer.

    • @selva-the-sailor77
      @selva-the-sailor77 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      1.)Inform to the port state and flag state
      2.) inform to the company
      3.) Entered the date, time , location and vessel speed at when OWS fails to operate in Oil record book
      4.) send that copy to company and flag state
      5.) Start to rectify the causes of failure
      6.) store all the bilges in bilge holding tank and keep monitor the tank sounding
