    Sewage treatment plant is used to treat the sewage and make it less harmful for the sea. Marine engineers must know the operation of the sewage plant before using the same in order to comply with the rules and regulations of discarding sewage.

    Hello sir, thanks for this video. Sir my ship was 2000 built gas tanker. Here these 3 chamber has common line which is connected to overboard pump. Now on our ship we had also sea water line connection to this common line to backflush. However, at some time, we used to open STP, and manually clean, later fill again with sea water, open all the valves,, start blower. when it reaches certain level, air bubbles with water can be seen in inspection pipe during operation.

    • @searainly
      @searainly  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is standby blower if one blower fails second blower comes..
      The requirement of blower here to supply air to the chamber to allow the aerobic reaction if air is not supplied then anaerobic reaction takes place inside the chamber and hydrogen sulphide' gases are released that cause marine pollution.

    Sir if grey water is used to wash out the sewage stuck at the walls of the primary tank, then why is the grey water feeded directly to the chlorination chamber,as shown in your diagram?

    • @searainly
      @searainly  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Grey water is used to wash or flush out the stuck sewage and particles from the system.
      Now come to your Question ...Please follow the path Carefully. Feed the grey water into the chlorination tank then it overflows and flows into the carbon filter wash or flush the stuck sewage particles from this chamber and then again grey water overflows into the sedimentation and primary chamber and does the same function. and in this way grey water flash out the stuck sewage and particles from the whole system and at the bottom part there is arrangement of valve. Open the valve hence all flush out water drain out.
      Analyse the flow path of grey water properly.
      Thank you!

    • @searainly
      @searainly  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The effectiveness of Sewage analysed by taking 1 litre of sewage sample and incubating it for 5 consecutive days at the temperature of 20 degree Celsius with well oxygenated water.
      Now The amount of oxygen used up by the sewage in mg/l or PPM KS termed here BOD and In this case that BOD comes is 25mg/L(u have to continue with this process BOD reaches up-to 25mg/l & This new resolution value is set by MEPC.
