For Bigscreen, I find it causes too much glare in quest3. Using players where you can move the screen up, and also you can create some light around the screen background, really helps get rid of glare.
@@RafiALBO I've been using BigscreenVR player for 5 months since I wrote that comment above, so as far as glare is concerned, I've found environments not set in very dark areas will work best with the least glare. Also, environment surrounding lighting can be turned up to max in the BigscreenVR settings, and that makes a big difference. The BigscreenVR video screen can also be raised or lowered in the settings or if you look down at the floor and click the right Quest controller Meta infinity button, it will reposition the screen height so to reflect any glare out of view. For $10 Skybox looks as good as BigscreenVR with great features and a low glare profile. I've found if the Quest lenses aren't perfectly clean, the glare will go up exponentially. Interesting how options really haven’t changed much since Quest 1. Only thing different today is that Virtual Desktop has been thrown in the ring. Bigscreen has a lot to pick from but have always had issues with streaming quality esp. in user rooms. If you have content on a file server, nothing still beats Skybox on the daily, hands down.
Where can you buy 3D movies? The only legal way to do it is to buy a physical disk and burn it into your pc right? Or is there a website where I can buy and own a digital version?
Your right, he didn't say...but it's Skybox. Most I've seen cost something, but not much. I bought Heresphere, it's the more costly one at about $30 If I remember right.
Virtual Desktop helped me get the highest video quality for my movie streaming out of all the apps available. If you've got a good wifi connection, it's just as good as being at your PC.
Is it possible to watch movies or say, documents in full screen or is it always a window with a background around it like you showed here? I'm looking for a way to get rid of my projector which is used as a screen for excel, web and games and is connected to my computer.
I wish that creators on YT would make a video on how to setup a 3D movie for viewing on the Meta Quest 3. I really need a step by step walkthrough. All I see is that you can do it but I don't know how to view a Blu-ray 3D movie disc on the Q3.
You have to convert the disc to a mkv file. Look up Makemkv. It's a free program. There is a tuber out there that has a video on how to do it. It's older but it still works today. I don't think i can post links but Open PC Reviews is the name of the channel. I've done it so I know it works. I've also just ripped my disk to ISO and watched it on 4KXVR. 4KXVR is a paid app though, big file sizes with ISO but it's the best quality imo. You can go the torrent route but that's hit or miss and results vary. There is one last method I'm trying to figure out that involves strictly hardware but I'm having difficulty. It involves having an actual 3d blue ray player and input to the PC then a covert to stream to the headset. This way there would be no need to have large files it would convert on the fly. WIP. One last thing. There are tutorials for DVDFAB to rip your 3d discs. I never tried it and I'm pretty certain it's a paid program. There might be a free version but I have not looked into that method. Techno Dad does a vid on it.
With a decent computer you can convert a Blu-ray disc or DVD to a digital file that can be fed into the quest and played by a media player that has the correct decoders to play the converted file. (4XVR player) You can find digital files that have already been converted by people. One place is Utorrent. Another is a server like an FTP server. That used to require a membership.

Hi, longtime sub here. I’m hoping you can help me and I apologize if you mentioned this, I was watching while I was cooking 😄. I am using Bigscreen Beta on Quest 3 and in every environment I am way too high up from the chairs or couch and consequently it’s not as realistic feeling as I want it to be. I’ve tried everything - recentering, moving my position, redoing my boundary, crouching down while recentering. Is there a way to lower my position so I feel like I’m actually sitting on the couch or chair? Thank you in advance for any help you can give me! 😊

I found that 4xvr is about to be my go to solo vewing app, mainly because I can watch movies straight from a usb drive. Only thing making me hesitate is the 30$ price tag. My question is, is there any other service that allows me to watch movies straight from an usb stick? @@cn9296 Absolutely. The quest 3 has different lenses than the 2, it has a better resolution, and actually a separate screen for each eye, while the 2 has only one screen. The lenses are better too, so there is a much bigger "sweet spot" in quest 3 than in quest 2. It means you don't have to always adjust the position of your quest in order to see the image clearly. The performance is also better, the menu feels snappier, faster. The only thing that is worse than the quest 2 is the battery life, but youbcan extend that by external battery pacs or battery straps form 1.5-2 hours to almost 5.
Every time I start BigscreenVR the menu is at my feet. To be fair I should say I am lying back in bed. Your right, he didn't say...but it's Skybox. Most I've seen cost something, but not much. I bought Heresphere, it's the more costly one at about $30 If I remember right.
Awesome this will be on my Christmas list.
isnt the movie going to be in really low resolution?
Virtual desktop has a theatre mode
I love vd and use it all the time, i love that there is no dlna set up etc. only downside is it can't play fisheye vr vids
Virtual Desktop helped me get the highest video quality for my movie streaming out of all the apps available. If you've got a good wifi connection, it's just as good as being at your PC.
@@muskerp. Yes it can I’ve done it, but skybox is better for watching VR vids
How?
firefox wont work for me anymore, and it used to. does anyone have a fix for this?
To watch Netflix in VR I get the best experience using Virtual Desktop from my PC running Netflix on Firefox.
from 10:25v it's not clear what app is that.
Is it possible to watch movies or say, documents in full screen or is it always a window with a background around it like you showed here? I'm looking for a way to get rid of my projector which is used as a screen for excel, web and games and is connected to my computer.
I wanna know
With big screen VR are all movies on there for free
No
No but people can stream their PC screens and play whatever they want
@@deadboy1255 is there a subscription thingy involved like Netflix where you have to pay to watch any movie
4xvr is by far the best 3D movie player on Quest. Hoping the other ones catch up, but it's a no contest here so far.
Can you watch movies with others in different countrys
Great presentation but what about sound ? Those it have it ? Or can i add my headphones something clear like bose and battery life thx
Does quest game optimzer improve the quality of media played? Ive seen some pretty poor quality movies played through big screen.
How do you get stuff into local files? I can only get it to work on my network
Love how he just dunks on the Vision Pro in the first 45 seconds😂
They stopped making more of them and are now rumored to drop the idea of more in the future.
Like wtf. What a ripoff to everyone who bought one.
@@PocketPixelPortablePowerof course there gonna drop it for vision pro 2
@PocketPixelPortablePower i belive they did drop😂
I wish that creators on YT would make a video on how to setup a 3D movie for viewing on the Meta Quest 3. I really need a step by step walkthrough. All I see is that you can do it but I don't know how to view a Blu-ray 3D movie disc on the Q3.
Skybox and 4XVR are players that can play 3D movies, whether streaming from PC or local file on quest.
Is Netflix better now?
Question do you know if I order a ppv event can someone drop in the theater I'm watching it in with an invite?
is it possible to see fullscreen instead of see the cinema with small screen ? also is it possible to stop the movement when moving the head? net net...just see the movie fullscreen and relax?
I found that video quality at the prime quest app... is meh... looks like 720p
Really hope Disney+ will bring 3d movies on the quest!!!
I hope so!
I definitely hope so!!
I wouldnt hope since thats selling point of vision pro. However its only question of time when they are ripped and you can dl them to Quest
Wont be happening for quite some time disney and apple tied for some time now
Not gonna happen, that’s Apple exclusive
Are the external lense protectors good or do they blur the image
also use the questoptimizer app - set resolution to hd+, cpu and gpu to dynamic, and foveater rendering off
Hey, I have 3D Blu-ray Discs I'd like to rip and watch in Bigscreen. I've got close, but can't seem to encode them to work properly. Anyone crack this?
look at 4XVR player
What was the last app you were using that let you watch from an IMAX Theater? Does anyone know?
Skybox VR Player
Is there a place to download films to the headset?
When will we get Apple 3D movies or another app that we can watch 3D movies? Big screen doesn’t have them anymore. 😢
4XVR and Skybox can play 3d movies
Wondering if you know: in Bigscreen, it looks like party watch is GONE in Prime and Disney+? How can you watch things with friends, other than TH-cam?
Bigscreen
You'd have to use remote desktop if you have a pc. I found it's the best way to stream anything because it shows everything you do on your desktop.
Are 3D movies enjoyable and are the resolutions enough to really enjoy?
Yes. With 4XVR.
Hello there. I have a Quest 2. Been watching TH-cam and Movies via the BigScreen app. Been happy with video quality, but need to ask this… Is the video quality on the Quest 3’ higher resolution LCD worthy enough to justify retiring my Quest 2? I’m only a casual VR gamer.
Hey BMFVR I have a request. Do you know anyone that talks to meta about quest stuff. Tell them to try to get disney vr and max vr. So we can watch 3d movies in vr like the apple vision lol. I know you probably can't ask but dang we are missing this stuff
i still don't understand how can i watch movies with friends on a quest 2. if you can explain thoroughly?
Your friends also need a VR headset and the bigscreen app... after that it's simple
Bigscreen is an app where you can go in virtual cinema and invite your friends or let anyone join the room, you will then see their avatars
I wonder why Bigscreen is not playing some MKV files , they dont even show up in local files directory
I bought Heresphere media player. It will play back a sort of 3D VR that Bigscreen can not handle. If you like having a shitload of parameters to tweak Heresphere is your toy. One thing I don't understand is : when trying to play a local file, and the player/quest3 doesn't have the codec to play it, how do you install the codecs?
Is Quest 3 significantly better than Quest 2 for movies?
if you want also home theater like sound, get the grado sr80x headphones witht the VEVER replacement earpads for the grado gs1000i. oh it sounds just like my home theater system
i use skybox vr for local movie files... i filled up my 512GB with movies there... the only thing is that you cant search your library so you have to scroll through tons of content if you fill up your memory like i did....
New to vr here. Bigscreen has been my go to movie player, but I went on a flight 2 weeks ago, and took my headset with me. I found that 4xvr is about to be my go to solo vewing app, mainly because I can watch movies straight from a usb drive. Only thing making me hesitate is the 30$ price tag. My question is, is there any other service that allows me to watch movies straight from an usb stick? I was curious about skybox, but after watching your review, I don't think skybox lets you view media from the usb drive?
thats exactly the kind of reviews i was looking for , Thanks man
Spatial TV doesn't seem to be on the Meta store!? How do you get it?
How long does the battery last for movie watching?
prime app does not work in the UK
It works for me, I've been using it since quest 2 days but haven't used it in the last month. I do know that many people have been having problems with it, hence it's low rating , I think I may have been lucky not to experience problems.
I use it and I'm in the UK. I don't use a VPN either.
@@ollie6133 it says for me not available in your country so not sure why im having issues
does Fandango work with these ?
I'm surprised no one's mentioned Immersed. It runs so well! It even streams my phone and my steam deck to meta quest too, at the same time!
How? I want to buy it and want to use it with my phone
What’s the surround experience like with these apps?
how bright the screen gets when watching movies ?
Pretty bright
Where can i find the local files thingy? is it an app?
Wish they had BigScreenVR for Vision Pro and cross play with quest
Bigscreen beta worked great on my quest 2. I bought quest 3 yeaterday, and the clarity is amazing, howewer, bigscreen always messes up my floor level and spawn me in a chair, not on it so I can't see the movie screen... Dkes anybody have the same problem or a solution to this?
Hold the meta button on quest controller to reset view
So is there a real difference in quality for watching movies between q3 and q2...I need to know to decide which one to buy? Thanks
@@cn9296 If you can, buy quest 3, however its not ideal for watching movies as displays are LCD and resolution isnt as high as typical smart TV. I have Quest 3 and im satisfied with it when watching movies, but I dont have OLED display or TV, so the blacks dont stand out to me at all
@@cn9296 Absolutely.
I need to reach down deep with the controller and click over to settings, then raise the menu and screen with the positioning buttons. Pain in the royal ass. And many times the qwerty keyboard is way down there where I can't get to it!
Great stuff. I appreciate it😃
Did he ever name what his favorite way of watching videos locally was? The app shown after Bigscreen. I see a big spike in the “most replayed” timeline where he switched over to his favorite app. I’m assuming that was other people like me trying to figure out if I missed what it’s called.
So you can't use the quest browser to watch Netflix?
I watch Netflix on the browser and it looks amazing
Wish it can sync with my Sonos Arc system?
