Thank you so much for this! I've been tearing my hair out trying to fixing my faded colours, and something as simple as this has fixed it! A million thanks :)
Do you have tutorials for Epson 2803 using canva?
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!! I was so discouraged with all these dull cups and you’ve changed EVERYTHING!!!🎉
I LOVE hearing that it helped you!!!
Thanks a million .....This did the trick. So glad I stumbled onto your channel. I am a happy subscriber now😃
What about t-shirts? I have a sawgrass printer and I uses creative studios but when I print it prints darker
my sawgrass print manager only has photograph, no drop down option for vivid etc .. how do I fix that ?
hello I joined your group today! Your video helped tremendously. Did you create the template? can you point me where it can be purchased. Please and thank you.
What if you don't have a sawgrass? I print thru word and never had issues. Then one tumbler it just got lighter. Idk why. My settings never changed or anything.
I'm using photographic and my photos on my mugs are way to dark, any help please 🙏
Have you tried the vivid setting? I would only use photographic if you were sublimation photos on a mug.
@amycreates1075 I'm sublimating photos onto mugs, I'm still trying, but all too dark. So frustrating, and waisting money 💰 Pictures of black dogs are awful
My greens are blue on my final product and some have light blue. Any tips?
So I have the sawgrass sG500 and my prints are just dull but I’m using vivid for my prints. I’m doing shirts. And as for time, temp so many people tell you diff so I’m not sure if that’s my issue in doing 400 degrees for 50 seconds on a poly blend shirt. What do you think my issue could be?
Thank you so much for this video.. I've been going crazy wondering why sample after sample why my prints are dull.. I thought I was pressing then to long or not long enough
What program do you use for your designs
What if I’m using an Epson 2800 printer
Great Video. Thanks for the help. It worked!
Good evening and congratulations for your effort. I would like to ask a question, how can I transfer a white design or letter to a black mug, I have sawgrass ... Thanks in advance
Hi! With sublimation, there is no white ink. Unfortunately, this is a limitation of sublimation and means it can’t print on dark colored shirts or black mugs. Now, you can purchase color changing sublimation mugs. I believe heat press nation offers ones that start white and the change to black once warm coffee/water is placed in it.
I tried the vivid and it still does look good. I’m definitely going to keep trying. On the print settings my color palette says disabled. There’s no other option for it. Does that have anything to do with it not printing vibrant colors?
Yes, that could absolutely effect the colors. What printer are you using?
@@amycreates1075 I have a sawgrass 500
@@nicoledickel4360that’s the one I have and I’m using vivid and mine are still dull I just want to cry
How do u layout several mug prints in the sawgrass software
Mug prints I print the designs on 8.5”x11” and just put them on the same page and print. I don’t do a traditional wrap around template for mugs.
In the part where you put that you’re doing a Tumblr do you select stainless steel Tumblr what do you put that part on
To be honest, I've used several different ones. I normally do metal- while/silver but I've used the ceramic option before (on accident) and it works great too on that setting. Personally, I think the color options (vivid, photographic, etc.) matter the most since that controls how much ink is being laid down on the paper with the print.
I’ve used all the settings and my tumblers are still super faded. Mugs and ornaments too. Never had that issue with the epson, but sawgrass is just not pressing colors right.
What paper are you using?
Same for me. Everything I've done comes out faded looking. I'm using tuepix sublimation paper....
@Amy Creates I'm having similar issues, plus lines in my images. I print using the sawgrass print manager. I'm using a-sub paper; I've tried the texprint setting and the type a paper setting.
@@amycreates1075 a-sub. Sawgrass replaced my printer, and now it works!
I'm having the same problems. I've check the time temp and pressure and my colors are still faded. I'm using true pix paper and vivid selection pressing tumblers at 365 for 60 x 2 also 70 x2. I've done 356 for 60 x 2 and 356 for 50 x 2. Colors are not vivid. I also checked pressure. Please help
I have NEVER been able to get anything other than photographic to show up. I don't have VIVID or any of the other options and I can NOT find any videos showing me how to fix that problem. It's been over a year. UGH!!!!!
How did you get the tumbler template in Creative Studio? I searched yesterday and couldn't find one.
I’ve purchased templates and then uploaded them to creative studio. I can’t say I’ve ever seen one included with Creative Studio.
I have a issue with my red not being “red” it’s more of a maroon and my orange is more of a burnt orange ??? Any recommendations? It’s making me crazy!!! I have the sawgrass SG500 and print thru the print manager . Please help!! Thank you!
Is it looking that way after the press or before the press? If it is after the press, it might be the pressing time is a little too long or the temp is a bit too high if its coming out with a more brown/dark orange look.
In you PM settings for your painted/colored tumblers, for materials you had ceramic/glass selected. Is that what you use? I was told by SG to use the metal settings. I heard some use poly and I’ve even used ss tumbler setting… what do you use and what is the difference between all of them?
To be honest, I've used several of those settings and I don't see much difference between them. I find the biggest difference is the option for vivid, photographic, graphic, etc. I have used both the metal white/silver option and ceramic option and as long as I check vivid my tumblers turn out great.
I have been really frustrated but today I am going to try your suggestions. Fingers crossed!!
I hope it works for you!
What's a tumbler?
I used the sublijet uhd ink that came with my sg500 when I bought it. When the ink runs out can I use a different brand? Or will that mess up my printer?
Ehhh I personally wouldn’t because it will void the warranty and potentially damage the printer head.
How hard should the press should press the mug? I’m using 400 f and 250 seconds. With the first mugs it worked great but now the outcome is faded. Can it be that is pressing it too hard?
No I wouldn’t think that would have too much effect on it being faded or not. You don’t need the pressure to be so high that it’s hard to close the press but it should be a decent amount so the tumbler is snug and secure for the press. Has anything else in the pressing process changed since the ones you did that worked? Paper change? Different mug supplier or different batch of mugs?
@@amycreates1075 thabks for the response, but no, I have not changed anything, that's why is so confusing and I was already selling some mugs but now Im not doing it since the outcome is not good. now I'm trying to fix the images on photoshop and maybe makes a difference. no I don know ho to share the image from my photoshop to the print manager program.
My sawgrass doesn’t have all those options, I just have vivid and photographic I am using easysubli ink, my tumblers are coming out faded and not even. I am using a tumbler press should I not use butcher paper? I also tried shrink sleeves .
Interesting it sounds like a couple of things might be the issue.
1) your ink. If you are using easysubli ink with something like mugs or tumblers it tends to be more faded than ink like sublijet (also for sawgrass printers just a bit different). Easysubli works best on printing on the special transfer vinyl while sublijet works best for mugs, tumblers, hard surface sublimation items. I think this might be the issue here. Because, while easysubli ink will work, will be more faded /less vibrant on mugs & tumblers.
2) the tumbler itself. Where did you purchase the tumblers from? It could be a bad batch if tumblers but if you’re purchasing from a large reputable company that’s likely not the case. (But wanted to mention it just in case)
3) last issue could be time/temperature that you are pressing it at. How long and at what temp do you press in the mug press for?
@@amycreates1075 I have had a few tumblers turn out perfect I am using steel magnolia and stainless steel depot, so good tumblers .
@@amycreates1075 on the press it’s set at 204c and I have tried 60 secs and 75 I also have the butcher paper around it
@@melindawright7767 When I press mine in my tumbler press I set the temp to 365 degrees Fahrenheit (185 Celsius) and do the first press at 65/70 seconds and then rotate the tumbler and press again for another 65/70 seconds. If that still isn’t working, I would check out the ink as the possible issue.
@@amycreates1075 ok thank you for your help I am new to sublimation so still learning I have the sawgrass 1000, I also just got the silhouette 4 pro which I have yet to figure out 🤦♀️
I've never been able to fix my issue with gold foil and or glitter designs like the splashes, circles, frames etc. printing out like they should. I always get a yellowish green with those and I'm about to give up completely Look how STUNNING your gold came out! I know you say that the first tumbler is not as vibrant as you'd like it to be but if I could get my gold to print like THAT?! I think I'd cry!! I don't have/use sawgrass - I have an epson workforce
Did the sublimation ink you purchased for your epson workforce come with a color profile? Also what type of ink is it? Certain ones have a reputation of printing more dull. I'm happy to help if I can! :)
My blacks are coming out brown will this solve
Make sure you’re printing through the correct print manager or color managing profile. If you are and the blacks are still coming out brown, it’s likely that it needs less time& or less temp when pressing. When it comes out brown it’s typically an indication of over pressing.
@@amycreates1075 thanks
When heat pressing the sublimation paper onto the the tumbler . Is the extra butcher paper on top needed ? Or are you fine with just the printed design over the tumbler and no extra added butcher paper on top?
When I make tumblers, I never use butcher block paper over them. I print the design in sublimation paper, tape it on and press it.
You want to have parchment or the like paper to protect your press.
What if I use an eco tank and not sawgrass?
If your colors are off and you're using a different printer/ink, I would start with making sure you have the right color profile setting for the ink. The sub ink usually comes with a recommended setting. If that is correct, and it's still coming out dull I would check the pressing time and temp to see if that might also be effecting the color outcome.
Big difference. I tried this and the tumbler was much brighter
Yay!!! That makes me so happy to hear!!
So helpful! Thank you.
