Gotham is in New Jersey, which is clearly referred to as New York in the cartoon because "New Jersey" was deemed "inappropriate for children" by the censors. It makes sense if you don't think about it.

9/11 (1992) was the airdate of Joker's Favor, the debut of Harley Quinn. 9/11 (1995) was The Terrible Trio, when the Fox, Shark, and Vulture pick Gotham clean. Maybe "9/11" is a side reference to one of those instead of our world's 2001? It makes sense that 9/11 could have a very different meaning to Slade and Batman before the attack on the WTC.
I like the idea that Slade knows “The Terrible Trio” is a monumentally, well, terrible episode, so bad that Firefly’s explosive, destructive plans wouldn’t even compare.

Probably not a great idea to use "The Terrible Trio" as the basis for any kind of dating information. That episode can't even decide if it takes place in the summer or winter. :)

Okay, so something about college libraries (since my wife is a Library Science major). A. 99% of the people you see in a library doing work in the US aren't actually "librarians"; they're Library Assistants and shelves. Being a librarian requires a Masters in Library Science, they are very specialized in nature, and often take an administrative roll in the library (rather than working the desk). This job can make between $50k-$75k a year.
At most public libraries, Library Assistants are adults, often with Associates or Bachelors in something like English or Business. Shelves are usually college kids or high-schoolers (this pays minimum wage). HOWEVER (and this is where it's relevant)...
At universities, LA's are nearly always *students* currently enrolled in the university. In addition to earning money (usually above minimum wage), this will sometimes give credit hours to relevant degrees tracks. Like, university libraries kinda pay like crap, but you work there for the other perks.
Not only is there little incentive for non-students to take such a crappy job, but the school itself prioritizes student candidates (PLUS, they usually only take 1-2 per semester, tend to go with students who already worked with them, and because of that there's usually a waiting list for the position). The rules for actual librarians requiring Masters (and a separate accreditation from the American Library Association).
TLDR: This mean that she's probably still enrolled in school at this point!

Funny enough... James trying to figuring out the continuity of these issues and trying to fit them in the timeline is like almost like MatPat figuring out FNAF.

If you guys didn't use the Lost Years to construct the timeline, what would the timeline look like, keeping in tact this comic's cultural references?
Maybe when Tim says "After all these years. -- Okay a year.. almost" We're in a similar situation to Dick in the Lost Years, where Batman took him in at age 8/9, raised him for years and only started making him an official Robin who's out on patrol in the last year. In Sins of the Father we see them training at the end, I don't know the next time we see Tim chronologically, but maybe if you put it at the very far end of TNBA it might work?
Also, super out there fan theory that's obviously not as good as Superman being inside other things, but I hope Azrael turns out to be Dick Grayson undercover or something (merging the Post Final Crisis and Post Knightfall Bruce fake deaths).

I had the same idea about 9/11 possibly happening earlier than it did for us when I first saw Tim's quote. It's not preferable in my opinion, having to change the date of such a major event, but to quote Batman from World's Finest Part 3, "It has to be done"
Don't forget about Slade immediately loosing to Batman in Arkham Knight.
So, Barbara taking criminology for her Computer science degree fits. At my University there were three minors for computer science majors to specialize in. One of which was forensics, the one I took. I basically had to take a few law enforcement classes. And it makes sense why Barbara would minor in forensics, between being batgirl and her dad being commissioner, it's an easy A.

On the topic of alternate universes it may be possible that Jason Todd may have come from an alternate universe where any of the other Batmen such as Flashpoint Batman,Vampire Batman and the Batman who laughs reside in,and that any of the Batmen or all of them came into the regular DCAU universe,thung having Jason try to catch him or them down while also helping out this universes bat family. Cliche as it sounds it's the most possible explanation I can think of.

first of all I did not miss your video on wednesday... there was just sooo much out on that day (now I know why) and I sometimes keep your stuff because it can also be only listened too sometimes :) for when I go shopping... didnt go shoping so far... that and because appereantly everyone else got the same wednesday suggestion by the algorithm...

It's completely possible that some totally different event happened on September eleventh of whatever year that is now known as 9/11 in the dcau. Is there any major event that caused a lot of damage from the dcau that could have happened on September eleventh before this point in the timeline? It'd be maybe a little inappropriate to use that date for a totally unrelated fictional tragedy but it makes more sense for the timeline.
Finally we know Firefly’s height! Also I hope we see Garfield again; he’s probably chillin with The Carpenter in Europe.
So the important takeaway from this is that at least in the comics I'm from the same state as Batman!

I just saw a video a couple of weeks ago that states that in the comics Batman's earliest location was actually New York City and eventually became Gotham City

Theory that I'm sure has already been posted multiple times probably -- in the alternate universe, Joker kills Jason, so Batman kills Joker and gets turned into the Batman Who Laughs. Jason comes back somehow like in the comics either in his universe and then comes to this one or comes back into this universe.
You know Dini and co. do this to you on purpose, right? They probably have the timeline perfectly mapped out, with appropriate artwork for each era, but then they scramble it all up and laugh maniacally as they watch your timeline videos.

Watchtower database You guys should make a video about Alfred’s age .He obviously would’ve died before Batman beyond which takes place in 2039. So in batman beyond there is a flashback that takes place in 2019, where Bruce quits being Batman and Alfred isn’t there so where is he, is he upstairs not in the bat cave or did he die before 2019? Maybe in the apocalypse of 2009

I've got to admit, it's kind of fun to watch James' brain slowly break as he desperately tries to make a real date DCAU timeline work, despite there being so much evidence to the contrary. >;)

@@dcauwatchtower And the James Bond movie line was obviously meant to be a topical reference to NO TIME TO DIE, which, in a world without COVID and quarantining, would've opened on April 20th, shortly before this comic's release.

How many comics are going to be in this series? Originally I thought there were going to be 6 ?
There were originally 6, split in half (so 12 digital releases). Then there was very softly announced to be 7 total issues (14 total digital releases). That’s the latest we’ve heard so far.
