I personally avoid using weapons i find "cheesy" As in: The slosher for me was a Blaster that you could use way faster at a cost of missing the "hit around the corner" mechanic. The Tri slosher is basically a blaster you can fire faster and can be more versitile with. I obviously can see how it can be easily countered but its just too "easy" to use it. I could easily dominate every turf war with an Aerospray or Splattershot Jr. (fuckin crush splatfest matches with those). But i also dont want to end up having the skill of someone who never played splatoon before. So i try using things like Chargers or accurate splattershots/dualies. to make myself improve at aiming. Obviously i respect anyone using any weapon, as long as then dont use ONLY that weapon in their entire gameplay time.
yes! they fall under the shooter family, with the main difference being that the jump is replaced with the dodge roll (while inking, that is). i'm still getting used to them since i like jumping while shooting a lot, but i think they're a pretty great weapon in the right hands
Thanks!, Im kinda new to the game so any tips or explanation is helpful since Splatoon is very different kinda shooter compared to the other games I've played over the years
Dualies are most definitely NOT shooters, sure, there similar to shooters, but not that's like saying Splatlings are in the same category as Chargers because they both charge shots. Dualies are more mobile than a shooter, (and you can jump with them too) and you also have two reticles with them too, oh and dodge roll. You'll only perform a dodge roll if you jump while your shooting, while moving in any direction. (This works while falling as well, this is type of dodge roll is called fast falling.)
ah, good point about the splatlings. i was thinking more about how the dualies feel to use (with shooters being the closest comparison). also, that fast fall mechanic is pretty genius. need to use that more.
Joey Yee ew no they aren't. They have different victory and losing animations and they are pretty mobile assassin weapons. The other guy in the comments went in greater detail than me but i hate that they left the Dualies out of the mix

As a blaster player who's an S+ in all modes, here are some tips for blasters. :) Make sure to try to head into battle with a teammate. Blasters can kill fast, but they aren't good at dealing with sneak attacks, and it's better to go with a teammate and not risk dying quickly. Keep your distance with long range blasters. Shoot around corners, that's the blasters specialty. With short range blasters, try to barge in with A PLAN, so you can get kills and survive. In my opinion, the best abilities for blasters are ink saver main, Ninja squid to jump out of in and get the jump on your foes, and swim speed along with ninja squid. I hope this helps! :) Have fun splatting!

These days I main the Tentatek Splattershot which has a different special from the regular splattershot's splash-down (you can use the jets to ink normally unreachable spots and humiliate your enemy spawn).

I would recommend the N-ZAP over the Aerospray, it doesn't have as fast a fire rate but twice as much damage which makes it better for kills while also being great for inking turf.
Great video, two concerns though. 1, tri slosher splats in two hits. 2, e liter with scope has the longest range. Btw I do main a charger. Gotta stick together man.
1:10 in inkblot art academy I sit in the middle tower shooting everyone near until my special charges and I start throwing sliding bombs on every direction from a high and safe place
I like the Kensa Splat dualies best. The Kensa splat dualies are basically splat dualies with an upgraded kit. These splat dualies have nice mobility and turf coverage. While they do have kinda low damage, they can kill someone really fast if you put both pointers on the enemy. The dodge rolling is nice. The suction bombs apply pressure (I can throw two at once, Ink saver sub ftw). You can throw out a suction bomb right before transforming into the baller. Makes your attack more effective.
What do you think, are you more precise in aiming with the motion control or just with the right stick? And how much do you think using the pro controller is useful in this game?
I’ve been using the splatling since the first splatoon and if you get good and using them you can use it to easily take out a whole team and shift the tides of the match, if you have a good splatling player on your team you may win at the very last second.
Any suggestions on what gear to use? best abilities , best way to gear up for certain play styles , how many sub abilities to add on . how many swim speed up can I add before it is a waste that type of thing.
List of favourite weapons on each class Shooter- splattershot Blaster-rapid blaster pro Roller-splat roller Brush-octo brush Charger- splatter scope Splatling-mini splatling Dualies-emppery dualies Brella- splat brella
(I'm only A rank. Sorry if you need weapon rankings for S or X rank.) Take this with a grain of salt. I'd say I'm good with every weapon type, but that doesn't mean this weapon ranking list is accurate, plus it's based on what I've seen being used most and how I think the weapon is best used. A - Jet squelcher, most Dualies if not all, Splattershots, Splattershot Pros, (most) chargers, hydra Splatling, Mini Splatling, every brush, Dynamo roller, splat roller, tri-slosher, slosher, carbon roller, Luna blaster, clash blaster, rapid blaster, splatling. B & C - Glooga Dualies, Flingza roller, E-Liters (unless they know how to use it), Goo Tubers, Blasters, Range blasters, Splattershot Jr.
I used to main chargers and my favorite one was splatterscope... ( if you are a charger main it is HIGHLY recommended to use motion controls and you will destroy people ) until I started using the standard splat dualies.. the splat dualies are the best weapon in the game in my opinion because the sub and the weapon itself is very good for covering the map.. it does decent damage and a decent fire rate.. it can kill people in an instant if you sneak up on people and hit all if not most of the shots on them. You are able to roll around just like any dualie and dodge their shots. I recommend practicing the aim with the sub weapon of splat dualies if you want to main them like me. But since I changed my weapon choice I am experienced with both chargers and dualies so I can destroy people and change my weapon and have almost the same results in every game, becoming the mvp in my team. Hope this helped and once again I recommend you use motion controls and practice with lots of weapons and get good with them to get better and make the game more fun.
What are you talking about. Tri-slosher is almost always a 2 shot splat. Heck the burst bomb combo is so damn op. And you don't need it to 2 shot them. Also another new charger mechanic is it can actually pierce plays. Both ally and enemy alike.
I use the brush quite a lot Aaaaand long range sub weapons like the curling ones and the bombs It's fun to lure opponents to one side then sneak up on them from the other direction and brush them my color haha One downside, while I'm busy focusing on 1 target, others can sneak up on ME and take me out after taking out my accompanying teammate. I'll probably swap weaponry once I'm a higher level though
You forgot Duelies and Brellas. Luckily, I use them a lot, mostly the Duelies. Duelies - Duelies does not have great range attacks, so you can get screwed with a Sniper or a Slosher. However, the Fire Rate is high, so you can attack him or her quickly as possible. You have an option to roll which is just okay. Duelies are mostly for defense, since you can roll, and splat the person who tries to splat you. Some people, like me, forgot that you can’t jump while getting to higher places + inking at the same time. The strategy that I use is try to get a little closer to your opponent, and splat him or her. People always like to keep on rolling to survive. This weapon is great for Turf War, but not for Tower Control. Brellas - Brellas is definitely for defense, since you have a shield to protect you. You can let go of the umbrella, and people might mistake that you are there, but you are not. (Not going to lie, I did that once.) You can also attack while your shield is up. The only downside of this is that everyone can attack you above and behind you. So you got to look everywhere to see if there is someone trying to attack you from behind and above. Once when you let go to your shield, you have to wait until your shield to respawn. Try not to get into someone that is not your team. Some Brellas are kind of powerful, but mostly, it isn’t. You can also make a party, you know where people go around the circle, facing the outside not the inside, and put out their umbrellas, it is pretty neat.
Tri-slosher is still a two-hit kill. You're objectively wrong in saying that it's a 3-hit - unless you know something we don't and the weapon's getting nerfed.
Here are my mains: Roller: splat roller Shooter: splattershot jr. Dualies: custom dualie squelchers Brush: octobrush Slosher: tri-Slosher nouveau Charger: splatterscope Splatling: mini splatling
you forgot the dualie weapons and also the brella's so actualy its (i think) 10 kinds of weapons... cus if you set the brush and roller apart you also need to set dualies and shooters apart... ;)
Great video! I am level 50 since I am like constantly playing 🙈 So I tried out every weapon. But I am kinda stuck on the charger (sniper) .. its just so much fun! Otherwise it's still the aerospray weapon that I love.
Ok I am an year too late but I am an total charger fan. Mostly my holy New Squiffer! It's such a strong weapon and with the right aim you can ALWAYS run in and snipe email all with makes you feel so strong! That's My opinion also the baller helps you out for being overwhelmed
Glenn Jenkins Depends on the mode: Tower Control: Carry(Tower Guy)- Either Squelcher or an E-Liter something long ranged Support/ Defense: Dualies, Sloshers, but I would get a blaster if you go support Rainmaker: Defense, cause Defending the Carry here is key. I would advise any weapon that does tons of damage, but is fast (A healthy Squelcher, Charger and slosher combination helped my team to S+ (Splatoon 1) And da Zonez: Carry: Squelchers, Slosher, Roller, heck even the new Dual Squelcher will help ya, but your special needs to be destructive. Support: Squelcher (yeah again), slosher and chargers with a specials based on team support and massive distance damage (ink strike f.E) What you main determines your role in ranked, be it carry or support
For the carry, I wouldn't recommend a charger in Tower Control. It would be better to stay at the back and support by sniping foes trying to get on the tower. Blasters can be pretty strong imo. Something with tenta missiles on it can help loads in dire situations, and get people off the tower.
i love the 1st roller you get i rely on those sliding pads more than the roller, scouting out with those and using the roller when one is around and just slide my way to the enemy territory, mostly because i cant aim for shit XD
Could you go over pros and cons of motion controls on a future video? I can't stand using them but keep seeing videos saying they are a necessity. Thanks for the series!
Fam there are no cons to motion controls if u wanna be any good at this game ya need to to turn them on just give it a minute it'll feel natural real soon
I'd recommend practising with them in the testing room (the option on your weapons) and spend a bit of time trying to track the moving dolls. It's also good to use your stick when going around corners, and using it (along with the y button) to reset your camera so your arms won't be tied up in an uncomfortable position.
Former stick control player. LEARN MOTION CONTROLS. I disconnect the Joy Con from the grip and aim with the right Joy Con only, so I'm literally pointing at the enemy and they splat. It'll feel weird at first but STAY WITH IT. THANK US LATER.
I mained chargers (usually E-Liter) and brushes in the first game and it's carried over to the second game. I usually use the Hero Charger Replica or the Hero Brush Replica in Ranked. I disagree about the E-Liter 4K being worth the wait by the way, it was nerfed to hell (although not as bad as the dynamo roller) and both regular charger variants have a much better loadout in my opinion.
I’m x rank and i would class them as: Attackers: 52 gal, Splattershot, dullies, rollers, trislosher... Mid range: Splattershot Pro, slosher, 96 gal, Dynamo... Long range: chargers, splatling, jet squelcher... Turfer: aerospray, brushes, brella, Splattershot jr. ...
Octobrush is definitely my main weapon cause my aim is horrible and slapping people just works better for me. Although I'm quite fond of tri slosher and enperry duelies as well (still working on learning duelies better)
"Tri-slosher doesn't kill in two hits"

The Flingza Roller and Mini Splatling are really good, try them out.
Please please please, make more videos. So helpful. Would love to see some matches from you!
I like .86 Galons and other long ranged weapons (no chargers) since you can outrange enemies if you are not flanked.
I have been doing pretty well with the slosher. I used to main the vanilla splatter shot, but my playstyle has changed
Use the Tri Slosher. Just press ZR all the time, no skill required to kill everyone.
I prefer the basic Splattershot Jr. It has a great ink spread, good fire rate, and it’s pretty strong!
(I also love using the ink armour).
List of favourite weapons on each class
Shooter- splattershot
Blaster-rapid blaster pro
Roller-splat roller
Brush-octo brush
Charger- splatter scope
Splatling-mini splatling
Dualies-emppery dualies
Brella- splat brella
*Feels like crying because someone **_finally_** mentioned the Splatling in a Splatoon video* Finally my people are noticed and recognized!
Very well done! Great video and good information!
In newbie stages, having team mates with Blasters and Chargers is a sure loss 😓
How Can You not play Well With a blaster?
fightnight14 no it's because noobs can't play well with those tactical and "difficult" weapons yet
Rapid blaster got buffed a lot
I once played a game with two chargers and a blaster on my side. We were up against an all roller team :|
Glenn Jenkins I had a team with three chargers and one octobrush on splatzones. My team won
Well I like the octo shot but Cuz of the weapons that you've said of, it helped me. Thanks!
I love the mini splatlings because they charge SO quick.
FINALLY, someone who likes chargers! I subbed because of that
I use the brush quite a lot
Aaaaand long range sub weapons like the curling ones and the bombs
It's fun to lure opponents to one side then sneak up on them from the other direction and brush them my color haha
One downside, while I'm busy focusing on 1 target, others can sneak up on ME and take me out after taking out my accompanying teammate.
You can also make a party, you know where people go around the circle, facing the outside not the inside, and put out their umbrellas, it is pretty neat.
best splatoon guide ever
YOU TOLD PEOPLE TO ROLL PEOPLE OVER WITH A ROLLER? YOU HAVE TO USE THE FLICKS
Shooters are the best. The best weapons in the game in my opinion now at level 16 is the Splatter shot pro, and Dark Tetra Dualies
I'm new to the game so this was really helpful! Thank you ~
Splatling + Ink Shield is a match made in heaven.
So what about the Dualies? Are Dualies recommended?
What happened to the mini splatling?
Brushes is in the roller class btw but they are so different so i guess the can be counted as almost another class
And you said something wrong, the weapon with the longest range is the e-litre 4k scope. This isnt hate, im just letting people know
Tri-slosher is still a two-hit kill. You're objectively wrong in saying that it's a 3-hit - unless you know something we don't and the weapon's getting nerfed.
I’m a brush fan! But standard shooters are fine too. I guess. But my go too ones are the brushes. If I’m struggling for wins.
Here are my mains:
Roller: splat roller
Shooter: splattershot jr.
Dualies: custom dualie squelchers
Brush: octobrush
Slosher: tri-Slosher nouveau
Charger: splatterscope
Splatling: mini splatling
you forgot the dualie weapons and also the brella's so actualy its (i think) 10 kinds of weapons... cus if you set the brush and roller apart you also need to set dualies and shooters apart... ;)
oh lunablaster well it changed a bit now it takes under 16 shots before charging ink
Great video! I am level 50 since I am like constantly playing 🙈 So I tried out every weapon. But I am kinda stuck on the charger (sniper) .. its just so much fun! Otherwise it's still the aerospray weapon that I love.
Aerospray is like my best weapon.
Where are you when you record the lessons?
There is an answer to what the best weapon is... its the tri slosher
For now at least
uukh what planet do you live in
The clash blasters? The N-Zaps?
This was so helpful,thanks!
but doesn't the e-liter 4k scope have longer range?
i Love this Game
Ok I am an year too late but I am an total charger fan. Mostly my holy New Squiffer! It's such a strong weapon and with the right aim you can ALWAYS run in and snipe email all with makes you feel so strong! That's My opinion also the baller helps you out for being overwhelmed
What about the single player only umbrella weapon?
What's a good weapon for ranked battle? I'm coming up on that soon and I'd like to know what weapons would be useful for that
Glenn Jenkins maybe something long ranged like the squelcher
Glenn Jenkins Depends on the mode:
Tower Control: Carry(Tower Guy)- Either Squelcher or an E-Liter something long ranged
Support/ Defense: Dualies, Sloshers, but I would get a blaster if you go support
Rainmaker: Defense, cause Defending the Carry here is key. I would advise any weapon that does tons of damage, but is fast (A healthy Squelcher, Charger and slosher combination helped my team to S+ (Splatoon 1)
And da Zonez: Carry: Squelchers, Slosher, Roller, heck even the new Dual Squelcher will help ya, but your special needs to be destructive.
Support: Squelcher (yeah again), slosher and chargers with a specials based on team support and massive distance damage (ink strike f.E)
What you main determines your role in ranked, be it carry or support
The Aki War Thanks for explanation man! This'll help a lot
For the carry, I wouldn't recommend a charger in Tower Control. It would be better to stay at the back and support by sniping foes trying to get on the tower. Blasters can be pretty strong imo. Something with tenta missiles on it can help loads in dire situations, and get people off the tower.
Is the hero shot replica in the shooter category?
Brushes are my absolute favorite in this game! I'm always the tip of my group if my group is good that is lol
What category would the Splat-Brella fall under, just out of curiosity?
It's in a class of its' own.
My mains are
1. Dualies
2. Octobrush
3. 52 Gal
4. Tri Slosher
5. Rapid Blaster
:)
i love the 1st roller you get i rely on those sliding pads more than the roller, scouting out with those and using the roller when one is around and just slide my way to the enemy territory, mostly because i cant aim for shit XD
what about dualies class
just saying use the arospray dualies they don't have a long roll wait time but dont use any other dualies
what about brellas and dualies also im a charger and brella girl
my favorite gun is custom jet squelcher and the n_ zap 89 so my favorite thing is the shouters
THANK US LATER.
blaster is a shooter ok. you can tell because of the ending of a match shoters and blasters have the same animations.
The best chargers have burst bombs, before the nerf in splatoon you would just swim in a circle around your opponent while spamming burst bombs
Awesome tutorial much appreciated
I’m x rank and i would class them as:
Attackers: 52 gal, Splattershot, dullies, rollers, trislosher...
I use the charger (mainly scopes) my favorite is the firefin splatterscope
Personally my favorite weapon is the roller (for turf wars mostly) otherwise I would use dualies and occasionally shooters
You kinda forgot about the Brellas. (Even though they're technically not out yet. Only in Single Player)
