THE MOST IMPORTANT THING WHEN PLAYING AT OVERACHIEVER RANK OR HIGHER: Priotize your team mates over getting eggs. Chances are, there'll be new bosses that spawn in a matter of seconds to replace the eggs in far away locations that were stolen.
TIP: Before each wave begins, there will be a transparent graphic overlay of "ocean waves" on your screen (3:13 mins is an example). If the "ocean wave" is almost touching the bottom of your screen borders (3:15 mins is an example), it means the upcoming wave will be LOW-TIDE. Head down towards the beach/shoreline area as that's where the basket and enemies will be spawning. If the "ocean wave" is halfway up your screen, it means the upcoming wave will be HIGH TIDE. Ink as much surface and walls as possible to accommodate for lessened moving space.
YOU DON'T OPEN EACH ONE OF THE VALVES!!! THAT'S WHY IN THE VIDEO YOUR TEAM MATE IS HITTING YOU. Together your team chooses one valve to open! if the spray is small, that means Goldie is nowhere around. You need to then try another valve farther away. Once you have enough eggs, DON'T HIT ANY VALVES!!! just chill out~
Maybe on a team, but if you're doing freelance you don't have enough time to pick and choose because you can't communicate and some of the randos might not even know how the mode works.
Why is no one talking about distance. Imo it makes life a whole lot easier if u can lure certain bosses right next to the basket for super fast egg recovery. I always see people taking out maws all the way on the other side of map the moment it pops up when they can lure it right next to the basket. Idk thats just my opinion.
I agree with you on that, but you gotta make sure that you take down the Salmonid bosses quickly and effectively when they're near the basket or else they'll all be crowding around it and then none of the squids on your team will be able to deliver the eggs into the basket without risking themselves getting splatted.
I have a profeshional tip for all you squids out there; REVIVE YOUR TEAM MATES! Honestly the amount of games I've lost because me, or my team mates were trying to deliver an egg and just swum right past dead team mates is incredible.
If there's 10 seconds left on the clock and you're the last one standing just run for it until the time runs or (That is if you collect Enough eggs to fill the quota)
Also, if there is 3 seconds remaining. Jump in the water and die. The game takes about 4 seconds to register that you are dead when you jump in water. As for when you die to a salmonid, you die instantly. Just make sure there is 3 seconds remaining or you’ll die before the time runs out. Hope this helps!
It can get super bewildering when people just stand around (at high levels of salmon run) and don't ink stuff at the beginning of a round. It doesn't help point wise but you'll thank yourself when you can run to and from the egg basket without a hitch.
When the drizzler shoots out its rockets, you can fire at the rockets so it shoots back at the drizzler and instakills it. Just make sure you're shooting from the opposite side so the rocket actually hits the drizzler lol
Quick tip: if there's a mothership and you have the stingray special, when it approaches from a distance use it and shoot it with stingray so it's easier to kill
King Sameet Today I saw my team attack the mothership from a distance with the specials and it took so long much damage that it dropped an hour extra 4 golden eggs some how.
I did this once while the mothership was a bit far away, and once my team got it off the egg basket, there was a line of golden eggs that the mothership probably dropped.
Sameet Banerjee it's great to have the stingray but not great for other not Mothership rounds (to me) cause the more damage to the Mothership when it's coming the more golden eggs that will fall down!
Actually for the rush mode, personally and honestly based on my experience, I will recommend all teammates stay together and stay near the tank. Leave one single path to let salmons come in and you and your teammates shoot them all together. Go a little forward or back a little bit to pick up eggs or to hide from the salmon and recover your ink. Don't worry too much about the golden egg. Don't jump off the tall place and go too far away to pick up eggs. The golden salmons will run to you and will bring you enough golden eggs to fulfill the quota. The rush is so fast and one comes right after another so it basically left you no time to recover your ink if you are alone Also, it is hard to predict who will become the next shiny target, so if you are away and alone you will die in a second. And if you are far away from your teammate no one can come to bring you back to life. Once a teammate start to die, the shiny target will switch up instantly and you and your teammates will die one after another and easily fail the mission.
Also, if someone is down and wearing out "Help!" be sure to at least attempt to save them. I've had several team mates walk right around me, or be too concerned with one egg then be the last one to die, causing the group to lose
Ink walls early in the round during low and mid tides for escape routes! ALWAYS have that escape plan, and make one for your squidmates if possible. This goes for ANY game mode but especially Salmon Run. Also after "Profreshional 99" you stay profresh but the number just keeps increasing. Not sure what the cap for that is yet.
A really useful tip: If you have the charger, you can actually use it to cut through scrappers and possibly flyfish and steelheads though I'm not sure about that. Oh, and don't get cooked, stay off the hook... I prefer stay fresh to be honest
Pro-tip: The stingray is probably the best special to use in Salmon run. Perhaps only for the fact that it can literally kill any boss without waiting for the Flyfish to open, the Steelhead to charge, the Scrapper to rotate, the Steel Eel to get turned around, to get close to the Stinger, or the Drizzler to flip over. The one and only exception could be the Maws, which is the easiest boss to take down, by Splat bomb, people... Don't just try to shoot them when the snap at you or your teammates. Drizzlers are your worst nightmare. Please return the bubbles to them. They're like Ghasts in Minecraft.
Tips: •Drizzler - You an avoid rain cloud by shooting the balloon the Drizzler shoots out • When you spawn into a new game, make sure to ink the walls behind the egg basket too. This will help you swim up from all different directions to deliver eggs faster
Here's a tip for the gusher mode: While the light can help narrow down the correct gusher, the height at which the salmonid ink is spat out is also an indicator. The higher the gush of ink, the closet you are to the goldie
You forgot that Goldie also spawns in occasions in Fog. Other than that, it's a good video! Also, everyone forgets to use Sting Ray against the Mothership. She'll drop golden eggs like Goldie. Yes, even when she's out of range of the charger.
Some things you missed: Roller melee is broken and clears lesser Salmonids FAST. Same with Splatlings. On retreat, leave a bomb behind as you go to put an egg away. Steelheads create a massive explosion when they die. Use this to clear out a swarm. Most dualies can kill Drizzlers before it fires two missiles, high mobility allows you to take care of Flyfries, Steel Eels, Scrappers, and Maws quicker than other weapons. Chargers slaughter Steelheads, Steel Eels, Scrappers, and can take out Drizzlers from far off. Very good against Mothership. Stingers don't hold a candle against blasters. Knowing that you have the fastest kill against them as a blaster, especially prioritize those. If you still have your charge, use up your special weapon in the third round. Don't waste it. Flyfries are broken, so never miss an opportunity to lob a bomb at one. If you are with another teammate gearing to take down one of these fish devils, make sure you don't chuck two bombs into the same rocket launcher by throwing your bomb at the launcher nearest to you (e.g. If you are on the left, throw your bomb at the left launcher.) If your teammate can deal with it on their own, you don't need to help. While there's never a kill quite like overkill, don't throw bombs when your teammate already is. They're too ink-costly.
Been nosing through these vids, and ya got plenty of good tips here, I gotta mention one thing on Mothership waves. The Stingray is KING here. Once Grizz makes the announcement the Mothership is going for the basket and you have the Stingray? MOTOR your squiddy butt to the basket, activate the Stingray, and open fire on the Mothership. It stacks on damage so you repel the Mothership faster, AND auto-splats the Chinooks, so as the Mothership approaches the basket, it leaves a trail Golden Eggs in its wake and I've won Mothership waves with almost double to triple the quota with that trick. I tend to save Stingrays for emergencies and Motherships for this reason, but be careful and watch the backs of buddies using the Stingray, because you are a sitting duck for assault while using the 'Ray. Anyway, good vid, and thanks for the tips!
This is one of the best GameSpot videos I've seen in a long time. This guy really knows his stuff. It's great hearing from a real member of the Splatoon community
If the path is clear to the basket and your ink tank is pretty full, just throw a grenade to a horde of Salmonids before going to the egg basket with the egg. You can also do that if you have a ways to swim towards enemies and you chuck one ahead of you. If you meet the quota, prioritize survival over the eggs. There's no shame in running off to the far off corner if things get too rough at the end. Don't bother for one egg at a far distance if you're not near it for normal rounds (and if its not near the end of the round or other bosses). You'll likely get tons of other bosses to worry about to drop more eggs. Same goes for defending one egg far away. Read the Salmon Run manual with minus in the Grizzco menu. The Mothership round is really good for Chargers. Just let the charger or other long range weapons get all the flying salmons while others do the egg runs. Easy egg round. Lead Maws to the basket for easy eggs. Hold R so you know the trajectory of your splat bomb. You can also jump to throw the bomb a little farther. Individual performance doesn't matter too much. Focus on the benefit of the team.
And bomb explosions can revive teammates too. The bomb instantly explodes against that fish looking eel or the griller so you can aim for that to revive them
For the Goldie rush part: If you see an egg fall off the side of the ship or too far foreward. *Let. It. Go.* I've seen it happen so many times when a player gets greedy and jumps for the gold egg and ends up getting immiediatly splatted because the enemy just happend to spawn nearby. Worse is when some poor sods try to help him and immiediatly die from being swarmed from behind. Just stay by the basket, let two or three people shoot salmons, while the other collects gold eggs and restore their ink. Then trade with the other people and keep the line going until the end of the match. This mission is proably the EASIEST in the game, if you don't let greed get the best of you.
A tip with the Gusher event: The higher the ink shoots and the brighter the light is, the nearer you are to the Goldie. So if you're near one end of the map and the ink is really short, don't bother with any other gusher near it.
You can take out the fly fish containers with the inkjet, and the length of the geyser shows how close the goldie is (if it is a small length, the goldie is really far away)
Important strategy for Glowfish: The person with targeted by glowfish should not MOVE. The person should stay on a place preferably with only one path leading up (right by the basket in Spawning grounds) OR stay by the basket on the Ship. This ensures that the swarms will only move to one direction ignoring the rest of team allowing the group to take down the swarms. Also it's best to stay together. Don't move too far from the basket because the concentrated power can kill swarms. If the Glowfish target moves around, he'll get swarmed or the others will get swarmed and the team will die. Strategy for Griller: Grillers move by following the path strictly. Stay in one place that has a wall which you can climb up and down on. When the griller is near, jump off and he'll want to chase you by coming down along the path he came. Keep doing it and he'll actually stay move back and forth in one place, perfect for your team mates to aim for the tail and kill it while preventing the griller from going all over the map.
And if you met the quota just run, don't risk your life and stay together to revive each other or if you are the only survivor and the splatted allies are surrounded just run or use your special to save them
Yep when I play rainmaker there’s always that one person who refuses to is et tur map and figure out where the enemy goal is. Then we always lose it because they go the wrong way
If you have a roller/brush and it's the end of round3 and all your teammates are dead and the entire world is aggroing you, you can just press ZR and do as dory does: just keep swimming. If you can revive your teammates, fine, but if you're full on golden eggs, just run and be happy you've won. If you run out of ink because you can't ever go squid in your own ink while you run away, just use your special unless you have the stinger, your special will refill your ink tank. If it's the inkjet, make sure to lure the baddies away from the spot you jumped from.
Be sure to revive your teammates! I had plenty of moments when I was the last one alive and I didn't notice. Be sure to look back at the team bar thing.
oh no, don't advise ppl to say "this way" near a far off group of eggs i hate it when someone is just staying and guarding some far off group of eggs when we're all being swarmed by the egg basket. i'm not going to go way over there. if i did, i'm just going to die and then nobody is going to be able to revive me cuz i'm too far away. learn to let those ones go. we have bigger problems here. just help me kill the bosses by the egg basket and then collect those eggs.
You have to know what's going on elsewhere on the map. If no one is coming leave a bomb for the snatcher and run you can make it back if you don't run into interference. I hate when someone is calling because they went off to kill a stinger, which is great but no one else is going out there if we have 2 maws 1 scrapper a steel head and a steel eel right next to the basket.
guarding eggs might be helpful in earlier rounds but on later rounds there are more bosses and getting rid of them should be top priority if you're sitting around guarding 3 eggs while your teammates being swarmed, leave a bomb at the eggs and go help them
Great vid! Also: Play your proper role with your weapon. Stay near the basket for faster egg collection. Ink walls and anything you can for easier movement.
It's not about how bright the light is in Goldie Hunt. It's how tall the spew is. It also tells you if you're close or not. If the spew is really short, don't bother opening up any hatches near it. It's like a game of hot and cold. Also! For Goldie Rush: if you are the one with fireflies, JUST HIDE IN A CORNER. Let the salmonids come to you, mow em down, let the other three collect eggs until the flies change. Final tips: the Sting Ray can and Jet can splat Steel Heads and FLYFISH. When the Flyfish has it's cannons open, that's when you shoot. Finally- this is something that's super handy but people always forget: DRIZZLERS CAN BE ONE-SHOT. When they pop out, they shoot their rain bomb out. There's a small window of time where you can shoot it and if you do (at the drizzler) it will 1 hit KO them (and stop the storm!)
One thing not mentioned in the video: leverage the map. For example, when goldie comes around, the person being targeted can stand in an area where there's only one path available to create a choke point. With certain weapons, all it really takes is a couple players (and one could hold out for a good long if they're careful with ink management). They're a cinch when others are helping out. When the Steel Eel comes around and there's an open map, someone should pull it, giving the rest of the team easy access to take it down. It makes me bonkers to go on runs where there are simple strategies to win and yet the entire team is running. The #1 reason I've been on teams that wipe are people running around like chickens with their heads cut off, who aren't leveraging the maps or working together at all.
A chart for all the bobber rewards and what they unlock would be nice to have for quick access on the pc or phone during salmon runs. Also - Great video. Anything to help increase base player knowledge for this purely teamwork based mode only helps us all in the long run
On the rush event, if you are playing on the lost outpost map, you can actually ink one of the walls and the person that is being targeted can climb onto the top of the wall and stay there and they will be almost unreachable by the salmonids.
Be sure to shoot the Mothership if you have the Stingray Special when It's heading towards the egg basket. Not only are you fighting it off, but you take out any flying salmon coming from the ship, so if you're lacking in eggs, it's an easy way to meet quota.
Actually guarding the eggs is horrible. I know this with experience. Trust me. We always never win because we need one more egg and if that person guarding the eggs delivered it we would have won. This happens many times to me
I really like the comradery of watching my team mates rush out with the eggs with I shoot around and behind them for a safe and clear escape. The pay cut and potential reverse progress arn't so bad since it's very infrequent that happens. The armored enemies with the head bomb and jet pack give me so much trouble just to aim grenades or shoot a short ranged weapon on top of such a tall target, but I do enjoy finding easier bosses to make the quota as a work-around sometimes, the easier ones being the sniper, shield, and launcher under the umbrella shaped she'll.
Don't be greedy. Sometimes it's better to distance yourself and survive, than get that last golden egg or down that last boss. Better to complete the round with a little less than fail all together if its getting messy (assuming you've reached your quota).
Also. Consider the weapons of the rotation some weapons are better at dealing with certain things than others. For example. It's high tide and s giant rush of the standard salmon are starting to build up. Have your tri slosher roller or even aero spray deal with them. They can all splat mass amounts of fodder really fast. Don't be use your special in a panic. It's a good way to waste it as the enemies can still splat you while you are using it. That tip works for both salmon run and the vs multiplayer modes. And finally do take a moment to re-ink turf. Having safe ground to stand and swim through is helpful no matter what. Could be the difference between escaping a boss attack and getting splatted because your now walking in the salmons slime. Yeah that's right. In calling it slime. Because I don't think salmon can ink.

Hey little tip I recommend saving stingray for steelheads and flyfish as you can deal damage to them directly without having to wait for their weak spots to be exposed. Also try and save your Ults for when the going is about to get rough if there's quite a few boss salmonids at once that's probably a good time to do it but take into account if your ult leaves you vulnerable like the stingray.
When I play salmon run I don’t try and wait for people to collect the golden eggs from to bosses that got killed because it allows times for other bosses to spawn. I ussally just at least take one egg from the eggs that dropped so at least not all three disappear
Two corrections. Goldie's can also spawn in fog. I've seen a few. Also the mothership. It's the fish holding the box that drops the gold egg you can shoot it even after its dropped the box and it will still drop a golden egg.
Here's a tip: use bombs to rescue downed teammates. It can be done from a safe distance, damages any enemies around them, and gives them an ink patch to work with. Just make sure they're not hopelessly out of position for their weapon, or it'll just be a waste of ink.
I still get this wrong btw: The bottom of the screen at the start of every level will tell you what tide it is. If the wave border is low, head to the egg basket at the shore and tell your team to follow but if the wave/tide is high then concentrate on inking your limited turf and pray...
There aren't any. IT all depends on the modes you are playing in the ranked mode, but the most important of them all, is how good you are with them in general. Just because Brush is gr8 in blitz, doesn't mean anyone can pick one 1st and be god like with it. (This wpn does take a while to master, and can be very frustrating to learn how 2 play it) The best advice anyone can give you, is do not just main one weapon, have backups for other modes.
If the mode Shlusher or Mothership use This Way cause for other to know where is the goldie and tell them that the mothership is approaching for the basket
If you have the ink jet use it near the egg basket and kill a boss, become squid to get lower and grab an egg and when the special runs out you'll be around the basket. And you can press A to leave an egg while using the special so don't wait if you can leave more eggs
To find the Goldie in the valve event judge it by the tallest stream of ink that comes out. The taller it is the closer you are. That is a better indicator than light as the light method is too subtle to notice.
to make your life easier, hit the stinger or the one that has pans holding it up. hit the most easist pan to reach or the middle, Hitting the middle will get rid of the top pans
Another easier way of finding the Goldie in the gusher event is looking at the height of the gusher. The higher the closer you are so don't spawn in unneeded enemies
Squid bagging is when you splat someone then you taunt them by flopping into a squid and back. Squid partying is when you and some other people have fun by squidbagging with each other (mostly in private battle) It means you aren't being competitive on the map.
Don't do the tip that game spot said for the hoard goldie event. You're relying on chance if you use that strategy. A better strategy is get to a high vantage point. Like the areas next to the egg baskets. When you kill the goldie just go for the eggs that aren't far away. Don't do this if you're the one who's marked. This event can be hard if you don't do it correct.
This guide's got helpful basic info for beginners, but 2:12 is a definite no-no. Especially in high job titles like profreshional, where the constant stream of bosses provides a reliable source of golden eggs. Guarding eggs means less people available to slay bosses; only stop snatchers if you happen to pass by one. Instead, what should be done with any boss besides flyfish and stingers is bringing them as close to the egg basket as possible. The freelancers you meet will make this harder to accomplish since all players would have to keep their distance from the salmon. But even just luring maws and scrappers next to the basket will be extremely helpful.
A tip in salmon run is the walls. In a tight spot they will save u cause fish cant climb them. Also I got trouble with my sub weapon and how to use them properly. Could u make a video on them

One time I was playing Salmon Run and the tide fell for the first wave. I've learned to turn around and check the tide at the start of every wave, so I immediately went down to the beach to take down some salmon. However, my team didn't follow me. They didn't leave the main platform for the beach until half the time was gone and we barely managed to get the quota. Then, next wave, one of my teammates immediately jumped down to the beach's egg basket platform without checking the tide and managed to strand himself there because the tide had risen again. Then he started mashing the "This way!" button as if to call for help, and in my head I was screaming "YOUR TEAM CANT GET DOWN THERE WITHOUT GETTING STUCK TOO AND THE ONLY WAY OUT IS TO COMMIT SUICIDE YOU ABSOLUTE FUCKING IMBECILE" Needless to say that round was pretty stressful.
Pro tip (This only works on Ruins of ark Polaris) if there are glowflies hop on the grind rail near the basket and keep going because the won't be able to hit you

I'm just waiting for additional maps to play on. It's a great mode, and it deserves more love.
Dataminers had already found map update infos about Salmon Run, so that's a good sign.

Quick tip: if there's a mothership and you have the stingray special, when it approaches from a distance use it and shoot it with stingray so it's easier to kill
King Sameet Today I saw my team attack the mothership from a distance with the specials and it took so long much damage that it dropped an hour extra 4 golden eggs some how.
I did this once while the mothership was a bit far away, and once my team got it off the egg basket, there was a line of golden eggs that the mothership probably dropped.

Actually for the rush mode, personally and honestly based on my experience, I will recommend all teammates stay together and stay near the tank.
Leave one single path to let salmons come in and you and your teammates shoot them all together.
Go a little forward or back a little bit to pick up eggs or to hide from the salmon and recover your ink.
Don't worry too much about the golden egg. Don't jump off the tall place and go too far away to pick up eggs. The golden salmons will run to you and will bring you enough golden eggs to fulfill the quota.
The rush is so fast and one comes right after another so it basically left you no time to recover your ink if you are alone
Also, it is hard to predict who will become the next shiny target, so if you are away and alone you will die in a second. And if you are far away from your teammate no one can come to bring you back to life.
Once a teammate start to die, the shiny target will switch up instantly and you and your teammates will die one after another and easily fail the mission.
Also, if someone is down and wearing out "Help!" be sure to at least attempt to save them. I've had several team mates walk right around me, or be too concerned with one egg then be the last one to die, causing the group to lose
Ink walls early in the round during low and mid tides for escape routes! ALWAYS have that escape plan, and make one for your squidmates if possible. This goes for ANY game mode but especially Salmon Run.
Also after "Profreshional 99" you stay profresh but the number just keeps increasing. Not sure what the cap for that is yet.
YES! These wall escape routes have saved my life more often than I can count. In this run, wall coverage becomes essential to survival.
The maximum is Profreshional 999, but if you go above 400, your rank will reset to 400 after the end of the shift
A really useful tip:
If you have the charger, you can actually use it to cut through scrappers and possibly flyfish and steelheads though I'm not sure about that. Oh, and don't get cooked, stay off the hook...

Actually, one time I used the stingray on the fly fish and shot the middle part and it instantly died.
Charger won't kill a flyfish, and not ALL of them are strong enough to shoot through scrappers. Chargers are invaluable on steelheads though.
Pro-tip: The stingray is probably the best special to use in Salmon run. Perhaps only for the fact that it can literally kill any boss without waiting for the Flyfish to open, the Steelhead to charge, the Scrapper to rotate, the Steel Eel to get turned around, to get close to the Stinger, or the Drizzler to flip over.
The one and only exception could be the Maws, which is the easiest boss to take down, by Splat bomb, people... Don't just try to shoot them when the snap at you or your teammates.
Drizzlers are your worst nightmare. Please return the bubbles to them. They're like Ghasts in Minecraft.

• When you spawn into a new game, make sure to ink the walls behind the egg basket too. This will help you swim up from all different directions to deliver eggs faster

Here's a tip for the gusher mode: While the light can help narrow down the correct gusher, the height at which the salmonid ink is spat out is also an indicator. The higher the gush of ink, the closet you are to the goldie
You forgot that Goldie also spawns in occasions in Fog.

Also, everyone forgets to use Sting Ray against the Mothership. She'll drop golden eggs like Goldie. Yes, even when she's out of range of the charger.
Some things you missed:
Roller melee is broken and clears lesser Salmonids FAST. Same with Splatlings.
On retreat, leave a bomb behind as you go to put an egg away.
Steelheads create a massive explosion when they die. Use this to clear out a swarm.
Most dualies can kill Drizzlers before it fires two missiles, high mobility allows you to take care of Flyfries, Steel Eels, Scrappers, and Maws quicker than other weapons.
Chargers slaughter Steelheads, Steel Eels, Scrappers, and can take out Drizzlers from far off. Very good against Mothership.
Stingers don't hold a candle against blasters. Knowing that you have the fastest kill against them as a blaster, especially prioritize those.
If you still have your charge, use up your special weapon in the third round. Don't waste it.
Flyfries are broken, so never miss an opportunity to lob a bomb at one. If you are with another teammate gearing to take down one of these fish devils, make sure you don't chuck two bombs into the same rocket launcher by throwing your bomb at the launcher nearest to you (e.g. If you are on the left, throw your bomb at the left launcher.) If your teammate can deal with it on their own, you don't need to help. While there's never a kill quite like overkill, don't throw bombs when your teammate already is. They're too ink-costly.
goldies also come from the fog event
Been nosing through these vids, and ya got plenty of good tips here, I gotta mention one thing on Mothership waves. The Stingray is KING here. Once Grizz makes the announcement the Mothership is going for the basket and you have the Stingray? MOTOR your squiddy butt to the basket, activate the Stingray, and open fire on the Mothership. It stacks on damage so you repel the Mothership faster, AND auto-splats the Chinooks, so as the Mothership approaches the basket, it leaves a trail Golden Eggs in its wake and I've won Mothership waves with almost double to triple the quota with that trick. I tend to save Stingrays for emergencies and Motherships for this reason, but be careful and watch the backs of buddies using the Stingray, because you are a sitting duck for assault while using the 'Ray. Anyway, good vid, and thanks for the tips!

step one: hope there aren't grillers
If the path is clear to the basket and your ink tank is pretty full, just throw a grenade to a horde of Salmonids before going to the egg basket with the egg. You can also do that if you have a ways to swim towards enemies and you chuck one ahead of you.
If you meet the quota, prioritize survival over the eggs. There's no shame in running off to the far off corner if things get too rough at the end.
Don't bother for one egg at a far distance if you're not near it for normal rounds (and if its not near the end of the round or other bosses). You'll likely get tons of other bosses to worry about to drop more eggs. Same goes for defending one egg far away.
Read the Salmon Run manual with minus in the Grizzco menu.
The Mothership round is really good for Chargers. Just let the charger or other long range weapons get all the flying salmons while others do the egg runs. Easy egg round.
Lead Maws to the basket for easy eggs.
Hold R so you know the trajectory of your splat bomb. You can also jump to throw the bomb a little farther.
Individual performance doesn't matter too much. Focus on the benefit of the team.
And bomb explosions can revive teammates too. The bomb instantly explodes against that fish looking eel or the griller so you can aim for that to revive them
For the Goldie rush part: If you see an egg fall off the side of the ship or too far foreward. *Let. It. Go.* I've seen it happen so many times when a player gets greedy and jumps for the gold egg and ends up getting immiediatly splatted because the enemy just happend to spawn nearby. Worse is when some poor sods try to help him and immiediatly die from being swarmed from behind.
Just stay by the basket, let two or three people shoot salmons, while the other collects gold eggs and restore their ink. Then trade with the other people and keep the line going until the end of the match.
This mission is proably the EASIEST in the game, if you don't let greed get the best of you.
A tip with the Gusher event: The higher the ink shoots and the brighter the light is, the nearer you are to the Goldie. So if you're near one end of the map and the ink is really short, don't bother with any other gusher near it.

Those events show up more as you rank higher and higher. At Profreshional 200% you can even get back-to-back special events for all three waves.

You can take out the fly fish containers with the inkjet, and the length of the geyser shows how close the goldie is (if it is a small length, the goldie is really far away)
Important strategy for Glowfish: The person with targeted by glowfish should not MOVE. The person should stay on a place preferably with only one path leading up (right by the basket in Spawning grounds) OR stay by the basket on the Ship. This ensures that the swarms will only move to one direction ignoring the rest of team allowing the group to take down the swarms. Also it's best to stay together. Don't move too far from the basket because the concentrated power can kill swarms. If the Glowfish target moves around, he'll get swarmed or the others will get swarmed and the team will die.
Strategy for Griller: Grillers move by following the path strictly. Stay in one place that has a wall which you can climb up and down on. When the griller is near, jump off and he'll want to chase you by coming down along the path he came. Keep doing it and he'll actually stay move back and forth in one place, perfect for your team mates to aim for the tail and kill it while preventing the griller from going all over the map.
Please consider your weapon when prioritizing. Chargers, deal with those steelheads.
My problem are certain maps where it often seems impossible to kill so many enemies if you're cramped up
And if you met the quota just run, don't risk your life and stay together to revive each other or if you are the only survivor and the splatted allies are surrounded just run or use your special to save them

Yep when I play rainmaker there’s always that one person who refuses to is et tur map and figure out where the enemy goal is. Then we always lose it because they go the wrong way
Pretty much the one tip that matters:
Golden Eggs < Teammates
teammates < egg quota
If you have a roller/brush and it's the end of round3 and all your teammates are dead and the entire world is aggroing you, you can just press ZR and do as dory does: just keep swimming. If you can revive your teammates, fine, but if you're full on golden eggs, just run and be happy you've won. If you run out of ink because you can't ever go squid in your own ink while you run away, just use your special unless you have the stinger, your special will refill your ink tank. If it's the inkjet, make sure to lure the baddies away from the spot you jumped from.
Be sure to revive your teammates! I had plenty of moments when I was the last one alive and I didn't notice. Be sure to look back at the team bar thing.
oh no, don't advise ppl to say "this way" near a far off group of eggs
i hate it when someone is just staying and guarding some far off group of eggs when we're all being swarmed by the egg basket. i'm not going to go way over there. if i did, i'm just going to die and then nobody is going to be able to revive me cuz i'm too far away. learn to let those ones go. we have bigger problems here. just help me kill the bosses by the egg basket and then collect those eggs.

You have to know what's going on elsewhere on the map. If no one is coming leave a bomb for the snatcher and run you can make it back if you don't run into interference. I hate when someone is calling because they went off to kill a stinger, which is great but no one else is going out there if we have 2 maws 1 scrapper a steel head and a steel eel right next to the basket.

but on later rounds there are more bosses and getting rid of them should be top priority
if you're sitting around guarding 3 eggs while your teammates being swarmed, leave a bomb at the eggs and go help them

It's not about how bright the light is in Goldie Hunt. It's how tall the spew is. It also tells you if you're close or not. If the spew is really short, don't bother opening up any hatches near it. It's like a game of hot and cold.
Also! For Goldie Rush: if you are the one with fireflies, JUST HIDE IN A CORNER. Let the salmonids come to you, mow em down, let the other three collect eggs until the flies change.
Final tips: the Sting Ray can and Jet can splat Steel Heads and FLYFISH. When the Flyfish has it's cannons open, that's when you shoot.
Finally- this is something that's super handy but people always forget: DRIZZLERS CAN BE ONE-SHOT. When they pop out, they shoot their rain bomb out. There's a small window of time where you can shoot it and if you do (at the drizzler) it will 1 hit KO them (and stop the storm!)
TIP: FOR THE LOVE OF GOD LET ME USE THE TURRET! I'M USING A SPLAT CHARGER I CAN'T DEFEND MYSELF WELL WHILE I'M IN THE BEACH
One thing not mentioned in the video: leverage the map.
For example, when goldie comes around, the person being targeted can stand in an area where there's only one path available to create a choke point. With certain weapons, all it really takes is a couple players (and one could hold out for a good long if they're careful with ink management). They're a cinch when others are helping out.
When the Steel Eel comes around and there's an open map, someone should pull it, giving the rest of the team easy access to take it down.
It makes me bonkers to go on runs where there are simple strategies to win and yet the entire team is running.
The #1 reason I've been on teams that wipe are people running around like chickens with their heads cut off, who aren't leveraging the maps or working together at all.
A chart for all the bobber rewards and what they unlock would be nice to have for quick access on the pc or phone during salmon runs.
Also - Great video. Anything to help increase base player knowledge for this purely teamwork based mode only helps us all in the long run
@Gamespot. A big tip is to always ink the walls. The walls are usually your escape route when surrounded.
We profreshionalls aren't being paid enough for Salmon Run.
On the rush event, if you are playing on the lost outpost map, you can actually ink one of the walls and the person that is being targeted can climb onto the top of the wall and stay there and they will be almost unreachable by the salmonids.
Be sure to shoot the Mothership if you have the Stingray Special when It's heading towards the egg basket. Not only are you fighting it off, but you take out any flying salmon coming from the ship, so if you're lacking in eggs, it's an easy way to meet quota.
Actually guarding the eggs is horrible. I know this with experience. Trust me. We always never win because we need one more egg and if that person guarding the eggs delivered it we would have won. This happens many times to me
I really like the comradery of watching my team mates rush out with the eggs with I shoot around and behind them for a safe and clear escape.
The pay cut and potential reverse progress arn't so bad since it's very infrequent that happens.
The armored enemies with the head bomb and jet pack give me so much trouble just to aim grenades or shoot a short ranged weapon on top of such a tall target, but I do enjoy finding easier bosses to make the quota as a work-around sometimes, the easier ones being the sniper, shield, and launcher under the umbrella shaped she'll.
Don't be greedy.
Sometimes it's better to distance yourself and survive, than get that last golden egg or down that last boss. Better to complete the round with a little less than fail all together if its getting messy (assuming you've reached your quota).
Also. Consider the weapons of the rotation some weapons are better at dealing with certain things than others. For example. It's high tide and s giant rush of the standard salmon are starting to build up. Have your tri slosher roller or even aero spray deal with them. They can all splat mass amounts of fodder really fast. Don't be use your special in a panic. It's a good way to waste it as the enemies can still splat you while you are using it. That tip works for both salmon run and the vs multiplayer modes. And finally do take a moment to re-ink turf. Having safe ground to stand and swim through is helpful no matter what. Could be the difference between escaping a boss attack and getting splatted because your now walking in the salmons slime. Yeah that's right. In calling it slime. Because I don't think salmon can ink.

Hey little tip I recommend saving stingray for steelheads and flyfish as you can deal damage to them directly without having to wait for their weak spots to be exposed. Also try and save your Ults for when the going is about to get rough if there's quite a few boss salmonids at once that's probably a good time to do it but take into account if your ult leaves you vulnerable like the stingray.

When I play salmon run I don’t try and wait for people to collect the golden eggs from to bosses that got killed because it allows times for other bosses to spawn. I ussally just at least take one egg from the eggs that dropped so at least not all three disappear
Two corrections. Goldie's can also spawn in fog. I've seen a few. Also the mothership. It's the fish holding the box that drops the gold egg you can shoot it even after its dropped the box and it will still drop a golden egg.
ah yes, you're right. fog is more like an additional obstacle thrown on top of whatever wave you're doing.
Here's a tip: use bombs to rescue downed teammates. It can be done from a safe distance, damages any enemies around them, and gives them an ink patch to work with. Just make sure they're not hopelessly out of position for their weapon, or it'll just be a waste of ink.

The bottom of the screen at the start of every level will tell you what tide it is. If the wave border is low, head to the egg basket at the shore and tell your team to follow but if the wave/tide is high then concentrate on inking your limited turf and pray...

There aren't any.
IT all depends on the modes you are playing in the ranked mode, but the most important of them all, is how good you are with them in general. Just because Brush is gr8 in blitz, doesn't mean anyone can pick one 1st and be god like with it. (This wpn does take a while to master, and can be very frustrating to learn how 2 play it)
The best advice anyone can give you, is do not just main one weapon, have backups for other modes.

If the mode Shlusher or Mothership use This Way cause for other to know where is the goldie and tell them that the mothership is approaching for the basket
If you have the ink jet use it near the egg basket and kill a boss, become squid to get lower and grab an egg and when the special runs out you'll be around the basket. And you can press A to leave an egg while using the special so don't wait if you can leave more eggs
Use the stinger while the Mothership is either active or inactive, it makes the collecting and defending process MUCH easier.
To find the Goldie in the valve event judge it by the tallest stream of ink that comes out. The taller it is the closer you are. That is a better indicator than light as the light method is too subtle to notice.

Another easier way of finding the Goldie in the gusher event is looking at the height of the gusher. The higher the closer you are so don't spawn in unneeded enemies

Squid partying is when you and some other people have fun by squidbagging with each other (mostly in private battle) It means you aren't being competitive on the map.

Don't do the tip that game spot said for the hoard goldie event. You're relying on chance if you use that strategy. A better strategy is get to a high vantage point. Like the areas next to the egg baskets. When you kill the goldie just go for the eggs that aren't far away. Don't do this if you're the one who's marked. This event can be hard if you don't do it correct.

Just a tip from a long time profreshional: goldies can technically appear in vanilla salmon run. It's just rare.
This guide's got helpful basic info for beginners, but 2:12 is a definite no-no. Especially in high job titles like profreshional, where the constant stream of bosses provides a reliable source of golden eggs. Guarding eggs means less people available to slay bosses; only stop snatchers if you happen to pass by one. Instead, what should be done with any boss besides flyfish and stingers is bringing them as close to the egg basket as possible. The freelancers you meet will make this harder to accomplish since all players would have to keep their distance from the salmon. But even just luring maws and scrappers next to the basket will be extremely helpful.

One time I was playing Salmon Run and the tide fell for the first wave. I've learned to turn around and check the tide at the start of every wave, so I immediately went down to the beach to take down some salmon. However, my team didn't follow me. They didn't leave the main platform for the beach until half the time was gone and we barely managed to get the quota.
Then, next wave, one of my teammates immediately jumped down to the beach's egg basket platform without checking the tide and managed to strand himself there because the tide had risen again. Then he started mashing the "This way!" button as if to call for help, and in my head I was screaming "YOUR TEAM CANT GET DOWN THERE WITHOUT GETTING STUCK TOO AND THE ONLY WAY OUT IS TO COMMIT SUICIDE YOU ABSOLUTE FUCKING IMBECILE"
Needless to say that round was pretty stressful.

Pro tip (This only works on Ruins of ark Polaris) if there are glowflies hop on the grind rail near the basket and keep going because the won't be able to hit you
