I suggest a dash of Angelus duller in your final acrylic finisher to make sure its totally matte

dope! I'm doing this to a pair of shoes that nobody liked, that grey base is definitely gonna help. I'll be using a brush tho. I think an airbrush definitely makes for a better finish but I don't have the means to purchase the airbrush for one custom.

How did you do the detailing around the edges? Just got my red cements, looking to custom soon.
Just take your time using a flat brush around the edges. If you do a good tape job, it'll make it so much easier.
Hey a friendly suggestion. Screw a finisher. Get angelus neutral paint which is colorless and mix with a small portion of duller. Seeing your black cements, they are super glossy. I literally just did the same custom (red cement>black cement) and did the neutral/duller (3 top coats) and OMG, they look as factory and matted as my 2018 black cements. You could probably still do it to your pair. Promise. It will look amazing.
I appreciate it! Since this video, I've actually been using flat white or flat black. I went back and went over my black cements with flat black later on. I also have a new technique for using the matte finisher too that gives it an extra matte look.

Absolutely! I’ve done one of those too and it’s definitely a lot less time and paint.
For you black cement 3 conversion from red cements you used Normal black paint and varsity red right? Would flat black and normal red work?
Also you used krylon on those but angelus matte on these, any big difference?
I use flat black and normal red for all of my black cement customs, so you’d be perfectly fine doing that.

Mine always cracks and peels around the toe box area where I walk and crease the shoes. Everywhere else is fine. What should I do to fix this? I've already repainted it twice now.

Because that's how they come from Nike.

It’s because this custom was on a GS pair, which have Jordan on the bottom instead of Nike.

@@83nation79 Yeah, I had a few people trying to accuse me of these being fake, but then I asked them if it made sense for me to spend the money on a fake Red Cement 3, then spend the hours customizing it, when I could've just bought a fake White Cement 3. They finally believed me after that. Lol. Yeah, there's a few differences in the details from GS to adult sizes.

the elephant print on the toe is way to thick to be 2020 red cement pretty sure they are fugazy Jordans and the tongue the red shows too much on top but nice job otherwise.

Well I just decided to turn my reunite 3’s to cement . Guess I’ll try to paint them . After you deglaze them how long before I can paint
And when deglazing , do I just try to take the protector coating off , not so much of erasing the red right? Just a good wipe dwn
