    The first time I ever cooked japanese curry I was watching your video over and over to make sure I got it correctly. My family didn’t want to try it since they thought it was part of my meal prep and because they were scared to try it. Now my dad eats 3 bowls a day whenever I make it because he loves it and it’s soft for him to eat since he has no teeth. Thank you for this video. I come back to it every now and then to make sure to follow your recipe. I also add a bit of chopped garlic and sesame oil for extra flavor sometimes Korean chili flake.

    I've attempted to make Japanese curry a bunch of times because I love eating it only for it to come out super watery. Your video showed me that more than 1 block of the curry mix is supposed to be used so thank you so much, I'm going to try making it again! ☝🏽🧡

    This is a fun dish. I used to eat it a lot when younger. But we fell away from it when we moved.
    I do remember we used to reduce the curry blocks before putting them in, so that we could save some and use it later in the week to save money. Do others do this also? And I can't remember how much you cun reduce the curry block on how much going in? What's the most you can partition it without reducing it too much? Does someone have a reccomendation on this?
    Thank you.

    Nice! I have the small golden curry package. Is it enough for 4 cups of water and veggies like you did? How much should I use on it?

      Hi, I think yours are different with mine. Check the package. It says right amount. Good luck!

    Is it possible to use curry powder instead of the cubes? I know I might not get the best flavor but just something that works

    Looks very nice gonna make it soon, wouldn’t it be better to add the curry mix before letting it simmer for 15 minutes tho? And what were you scooping out of the pan i did not understand 😅

    • @komainukitchen7833
      @komainukitchen7833  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, you need to simmer it for 15mins before adding curry mix. Because vegetable and meat should cook before adding curry mix. And I'm always taking off scum to taste better😁

    One huge tip, use an instant pot and cook some lamb shanks in beef broth. You want the lamb shank or butterflied leg roast to be at the consistency of pulled pork with some chunks. Lamb takes this dish to a new level, be sure to substitute the lamb broth for the water. There is no comparison vs beef as the lamb just works.

    I've never tried curry this way, i did expect it to be a little more more strong of a flavor but that might be my fault i don't regularly cook but it tastes great i even added milk, the beef i used was a little tough tho so I'll try with chicken next time, but thank you very much for the recipe 😊

    I add coffee at the end of curry cooking. I often use Java curry from House corp.

    Hi! What curry powder have you used?
    I've tried this dish in a Japanese family's house and I've been dying to learn the recipe. So if you recommend the curry powder I'd love to try cooking this wonderful dish.

    Description says half box, but the video you put the whole thing. How much of the curry powder would you recommend?

    • @komainukitchen7833
      @komainukitchen7833  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank you for your comment! In a box, there are 2 pack of curry mix. I used a pack , that means I used a half box.
