I ordered a pair of the current production Western Electric 300b to use with my Decware Sarah 300b. While I'm waiting 2+ years😊 for the Decware Sarah amp, I bought Line magnetic 845 prem having bias current of 70mA😅 to use with the Western Electric 300b because my previous 300b amp (Willsenton R800i-805) has bias current of 120mA that well exceeds the limit of the Western Electric of 70mA.😢
It’s true. I recently got a new Modwright ph9 (mm/mc phono) and with its stock rectifier tube there was a lot of hizz/ noice coming out of my speakers (L100 classics) when no music was played. I was never quite happy with the sound. I could not tell the difference between nos 6922 tunes and the stock pre tubes. I could not push the volume to reference levels 85/90db peaks without my ears hurting and the noice being too much. I considered putting up for sale. But the Cryotone 5u4g , as many have said, completely transformed my ph9, night and day difference.
Nice presentation on the valves. The Decware is a good value proposition but not necessarily the right choice for everyone. The WE 91 should be compared. I’m running Sophia 300b s and love their over all tonality, especially with mid range focused recordings. Lastly, your yard is wonderful. Nothing that green out west.
Wester electric are expensive tubes, but they have a great warranty. Just divide the price by the number of hours they are supposed to work .. now try that with cheaper tubes.
My experience is 300b SE triode amp with a audionote dac 2 (very important) with open baffle lii f15 and altec horn with fostex.... well orchestral music all day baby. I have hudge dynamics even compre to good class D and AB.
Amazing!!!! Do you think the Altec horn is providing that extra speed that makes the orchestral performance super good? Ohh and the audionote dac definitely plays a solid role I am sure.
@@hificave yes exactly! And focus the soundstage and brings a lot of air. You can do it with a first order cross over with a super tweeter or a seconder order with a tweater. Put a Lpad to adjust according to the speaker placement. I got those horns to disaper completly in a treated room similar to yours. So far i like it a lot! It is important that the f15 is rear monted withe a horn like shape on the baffle like decware or Marco. I also use rel subs. I saw you do it with the w15 i have to try that. Yes the audionote dac is surprisingly dynamic. lt is made for amps like those that we uses.
Loic, Steve posted the following on the Decware forum about the Decware 300B tube. “The 300B's are made by Linlai. We have a contract that includes specifications and extra quality control and premium packaging. You can Paypal us the million dollars, thank you”
They call tubes 'valves' because the grid acts as a valve to modulate the flow of electrons based on the signal. No signal, no flow. Large signal, large flow. Too little flow does not lead to distortion it leads to what we call 'silence'. Watch the video by Mr. Carlson's Lab 'How A Tube Works'
@@hificave Last year I purchased an inexpensive integrated tube amp from AliExpress for around $300. I've been shocked by its transparency and it's lack of noise. I know that it's tubes are cheap. Would a company like Worth Cryotone offer replacement tubes for a less expensive product? Who would you recommend me going to for replacement tubes?
Last year I purchased an inexpensive integrated tube amp from China. It has seven tube preamplifier section and an AB power amp. I've been shocked by how transparent it sounds and the signal to noise ratio is the best I've ever experienced. I'm using it with a WiiM Pro Plus to stream TIDAL. I assume that its tubes are pretty cheap and I would love to start replacing them with better. Do any of the manufacturers offer improvements for lesser tubes? How do I know which tubes can be replaced with different model numbers? I'm trying to tube roll on a modest scale. Thanks.

So cool!!! Thanks for sharing that.
This is like I’m in school. Well done.
I have 2 pair from the 60ths. Ken give me the extra pair when my Shindo monoblocks come from Japan. ❤
Thanks for this informative video! I’d be curious to know how the Psvane Horizon 300 B tubes compare.
I love this channel. I use the JJ322 parallel 300B amp, with JJ 300bees
Whats your favourite characteristic of the sound it brings you?

Yes!!! I edited out a part where I thought the grid reminded of the nozzle or valve that controlled the flow. Thanks man!!
how do i know if my amp can use Western Electric 300b tubes replace TJ Vacuum Tube 300B/n (which is stock tube with auto bias ).Thanks in advance
I suggest, contact the manufacturer.
What speakers are you using with this amplifier?
Diy open baffles with liisong f15 in main baffles.
What about for stoner rock played at 95db??!!
Take another hit first…
So it's 600 bucks for a pair or single 300B cryotone?
$598 per tube
I think most people like hot tubs in the backyard Loic?!
Tubs, tubes… 🤪
Did I do something wrong that caused my comment to be deleted? Just curious?
