Seems very cheap for a 300B and I recently watched a video about the differences between various 300B's which I found rather disconcerting given the sort of costs involved in tube-rolling given I'm not exactly well off. Been thinking about trying out a valve amplifier to see/hear if what's said about them has any basis in reality. Maybe I'll give the Reisong A50 a try if available in the UK. Interesting video, thanks.
Hi, I have Martin Logan Electrostatic speakers. You talk about this 300B being able to drive speakers above its specifications. Do you think this has a chance of driving these? I would love to find a tube amp, but I am afraid I need some kind of tube preamp in front of a class d and the preamps seem not to be totally tubular. Thank you very much.
Have one in my living room now, would not own one. The screws for the transformers fell out these huge nuts the hold the sockets for the cage fell off. The case is flimsy poor build quality if you have one open it up and put loctite on every screw and nut inside. After fixing those things I really would not trust it not to burn the house down.
Apparently, you've never ever heard of Skunkie Designs Electronics. She's a tube design expert. She reviewed this thing from top to bottom. And, she ripped this thing a new butt hole. She revealed how utterly ineptly designed and built this thing is. It may even be an electrical shock hazard. It's not made to conventional safety standards. Nor does it meet it's specs. It's a joke.
I have ProAc D100, that it is a big loudspeaker but has 92db at 4 ohms.. what you think about using them with this amplifier?

I had this amp with mods. I do not believe it would work well with electrostatics.

That is the least of the problems with that amplifier
