    At 6:18, the damaged portion was most likely caused by applying a pair of vice-grips, instead of using a sensor socket. Trash that senser. There is a heater that runs through that portion. It is a rod that heats up to make the sensor operate correctly. The crimp has changed the heating opetating temperature of that sensor. Been there, done that.

    I add Archoil 6200 to my fuel - it contains PEA and seems to keep the inside of the engine very clean, so I would expect it to do the same from the o2 sensors! I recently put a bore-scope into my cylinders, and the piston heads were almost completely free of carbon deposits at 100 000 miles.

    Test with an Ohmmeter across the 2 black wires. Set it to 200 Ohms and look for a reading. If there is no reading the 02 sensor is bad. The Ohms should be around 2 to 2.5 on the 200 Ohm scale.

    • @erikcox1947

      For Toyotas you are kind of out of luck unless you want to spend big bucks. Chips don't work the way they want you to believe.
      Bully Dog makes programmers for gas and diesel engines for about $400. But the most beneficial would be a flash tune from OrangeVirus Tuning for economy or performance. They can even reprogram your transmission to be smoother or be more responsive for performance.

    My 2006 Toyota RAV4, 4cyl burns 1quart of oil every 2000miles. The check engine light and ABS come on at humid and warm weather conditions. Common problem with 2006 Rav4, some were recalled for burning even more oil. I suspected that this oil is no good for O2 sensor. I cleaned the upstream sensor by soaking it in Carb. cleaner and spraying inside. Vehicle works fine, no codes but waiting for that hot, humid day that caused the failure. Summer is 3 months away.

    Mine is $180 ,a ten dollar or less can of spray is definitely worth my time.You already have it out anyway and getting one loose is often the hardest part of the job. Another thing to think about is what if you have a problem that is ruining the oxygen sensor. So you just going to throw a new one in there and possibly destroy it also. Nope I'm going to take my time try to learn something hopefully I'll get lucky

    My experience with 02 sensors is that you do not touch them….make sure you don’t contaminate them when installing or after for example reinstalling heads/exhaust after engine repair. I’ve never been able to reuse an 02 sensor after MIL/CEL except in the case of a broken harness wire. Having said that I still try to clean em every time.

    nice video so educational remove clean with proper spray which is highly recommended by manufacturer clean the sensor beware not to pock the inside just use the spray to do the job after you clean it and check very carefully look beside where you seating you will find a very nice trash can then put the well cleaned sensor inside put it with care the by a new one for it is practical to use the new sensor.

Till now the car has run near about 80,000 kms.AC compressor is ok, all Spark plugs are changed and new spark plugs are fitted,all coils are ok, throttle body cleaning done. flow of petrol is ok. Air filters are also new. Please let me know why pick-up falls down when AC is switched on.

    • @Amer-yl4gb
      @Amer-yl4gb 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nelsoncanelas1978 gasoline should work too. The fumes are super dangerous so let it soak in a ventilated area..besides if an o2 sensor needs cleaning that means your engine is not running hot enough... too much fuel or not enough air in combustion... you should fix that first cause hot engine cleans o2 sensor. :)

  • @azarahwagner2749
    @azarahwagner2749 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Most O2 sensors only last 3-5 years or 30’000 to 50’000 miles . Cleaning it might help you pass an emissions test but.
    Also , it’s a good idea to invest in a heated air oil filter, catch cans do nothing
