I like the cover stitch that you did on the black and white polka a dot. The top/dress looks so good on you especially the yellow and black that you are wearing now. My measurements are similar to yours so I’m going to try it.😊❤😊
This is my first time meeting you. I’m a “more mature” person, and so please take my comment here as nothing but full compliments - I LOVE the top you have on in this episode and you look SMASHING in it. The length is perfect, the fit is amazing and I hope that I’ll be able to sew knits like you do to fit me some day soon.
I came over from the Facebook Group 'Sew Unique'. I love that you focus on plus-sized fashion. When I was in design school they instructed us to draft patterns for a B cup, which I believe most patterns still do. Showing how to make FBAs and grading between sizes is so crucial and knowing whether you need to do that or just use a particular size. Love this!
Hi ya! Thanks for stopping by. I'm so jealous you got to go to design school, I would love to learn pattern drafting professionally but I have all the books and this will be my goal for next year. Yeah most patterns do draft a B cup but more and more are doing multiple cup sizes (usually up to a D) which is a massive time saver. Thanks for your supportive comment! x
Hello I am so glad I found you am a size 26 av never made anything befor I have a sewing machine but cant sew stretchy fabrics like T -shirts av also never downloded a patten with your help I feel I can tray thank you so much A from south yorkshire A x
I watched your Laundry Day Tee sewalong and will watch it again soon when I make my first one. Thank you for doing that. Yes, I’d really be pleased if you did regular sew alongs. Seeing the LDT made up in all these different fabrics was also very interesting and instructive.
Thanks Diane so glad you liked the sewalong. They're hard work to put together but so rewarding when I see how much they help people. Glad you like the idea!
Great review, Claire! I really love the yellow one on you. Your hubby did a nice job! I have that pattern, I know I'll love it when I make it up. Love Notions Patterns are a favorite of mine.
Thanks so much Carla! Its very bold isnt it! Ooh I do hope you make it up soon, I'd love to see it. How are you doing? I havent seen videos lately? Are you still sewing? xx
I am with you in terms of loving this pattern. You inspired me to cut out a 3/4 sleeve length this afternoon. Thankfully I don't need to make any adjustments. Yours look lovely.
The only thing I’ve made with Scuba has been Cashmerette’s Turner Dress. I lined the bodice with a lighter weight jersey, but the structure of the scuba made for a nice pull-on dress.
Hi Claire! Thank you for the pattern review. I have the pattern and will be sure to use a medium to light weight knit. Your yellow and black floral dress is my favorite. Your husband picked out a beautiful, comfy fabric for you. So sweet!
I joined love notions and got the laundry day tee pattern. Have gone to staples and printed it. Hope to start on pattern assembly and alterations to make for my 2 daughters and myself. Yours look amazing. Thanks for sharing. Meg
Really a versatile pattern. Looks great on you. Thanks for the scuba warning. I have a few dress lengths and will note what worked for you and what didn't. I am headed over to watch the sew along!
The yellow top came out great! Thanks for the review of the pattern, I will plan to pick it up. Appreciate you sharing about the scuba. I have not yet encountered that fabric but nice to know it's not good for this pattern ... it's all a learning process! The cover stitch you did added a nice detail!
Love this pattern also. I have made a number of dresses....I mix up the sleeve length and my last one I used the cowl neckline...love! Thanks for your videos...
Great review and those are some pretty prints! I like how they are easy to throw on, always need something like that in the closet. LOVE the new camera Claire!
Thanks Nateida! Thats the thing I love the most about this pattern, easy to throw on and so comfy! Thanks re camera - I actually didnt get it looking as I wanted to in this video, and had to be really zoomed in so it didnt show the edges of the backdrop. So on a whim I started decorating (not finished yet) and I did some test filming this afternoon and I am so excited to film a new video now as I got it looking fabulous (blurry background yay). I know you'll understand when I say I could kiss my camera lol!!! x
Great review Claire! I have this pattern and made it up with an inappropriate fabric, never to be worn. I will try it again now after your review and sew along.
Your husband is pretty impressive that colour really suits you. I have this pattern but because I have never used a pdf before I have been putting it off. I think I will have a go,I fancy a Winter dress with a cowl neck.
Thanks! Tbh I think he randomly picked that fabric but it has worked so well. If you dont like a4 printouts it's worth trying a0. If you message me on instagram I can give you an email address of someone with good prices.
Thanks Claire I would consider making the top version now. Last winter I made lots of basically awesome tees by duck butt designs and found they fitted differently depending on my fabric content. I have never done a fba just picked a size and graded depending in my measurements so might look into this. Thank you for the vlog 💜
As you saw in my video I needed your information when I was first making long sleeved tees as I found the fabric made all the difference to the result! When you said to experiment I did feel better about my mixed results. Really love the Laundry Day Tee on you and will be looking out for Double Brushed Poly if it is available here (and called the same thing) in New Zealand. Will look forward to watching the coat sewalong - will it have a lining? I won't make a coat until maybe April next year, but it will be great to learn all about it before I start as coat fabric is expensive and I don't want to waste it. Thanks for the informative video.
I wish I had seen this before I took the salesperson's advice and bought scuba to make this pattern. It was my first time sewing a knit. But scuba--nope--not for this pattern. The black scuba dress is now adorning my dress form. LOL
Hi unfortunately I can’t. These videos are old I don’t have the T-shirts any more (I decluttered) plus I’m slimmer now. Check out my other videos though because there are lots showing the things I made back then.
Love the sweatshirt. I.wonder if you could unpick the.cuffs.at the wrist and add a.lonnger.band? It's a shame if that's all it needs. I love the fabric too.
Check out the sewalong here: th-cam.com/video/WPWA5JxpBHA/w-d-xo.html
I am going to get that pattern. All the variations are so nice to have. Good review. Your yellow one looks great on you.
Thanks Nana! It's such a great pattern and can be used as a knit block I think. Glad you liked it.

I love your sewalong of the Laundry Day Tee. This review was also helpful. Thank you.

This fabric looks amazing on you! The color goes very well with your complexion and hair! Your Hubby made a great choice!
Thanks Donna, I was really surprised everyone loved it but this is why I love sharing my makes on here as I never know myself!
Love the yellow and black. Your husband has great taste.
Thank you Joanne. He clearly has great taste lol he says thank you!

Thats good to know as I have the Turner on my to do!

Thank you Alecia! Glad you liked the review. The yellow is possibly the cosiest fabric I've ever worn!
I joined love notions and got the laundry day tee pattern. Have gone to staples and printed it. Hope to start on pattern assembly and alterations to make for my 2 daughters and myself. Yours look amazing. Thanks for sharing. Meg
Hey Meg, thank you so much. Thats great to hear you are going to give it a go, do let me know how you get on! x
Yes, love your sew a longs, you are great at explaining what you are doing
Thank you Helen, it means a lot to hear that.
Very cute! I love the red it looks darling on you!! Excited to try it! Thank you so much for sharing❤!
Thank you so much Diana! I hope you love it as much as I do, thanks for watching! x
Really a versatile pattern. Looks great on you. Thanks for the scuba warning. I have a few dress lengths and will note what worked for you and what didn't. I am headed over to watch the sew along!
Thanks Teresa. Yeah the pattern does say the drapier the better and that is a good rule of thumb. Good luck with it, do let me know how you get on. x
Ok I’m convinced. Why I haven’t made it yet beats me 😁. I struggle with finding the right knit fabric so I’ll look harder.
Ha so cannot wait to see your interpretation of this pattern, it will be fabulous!
The yellow top came out great! Thanks for the review of the pattern, I will plan to pick it up. Appreciate you sharing about the scuba. I have not yet encountered that fabric but nice to know it's not good for this pattern ... it's all a learning process! The cover stitch you did added a nice detail!
Thank you, glad it was useful. I dont think I'd chose to work with scuba again if I could help it.
Love this pattern also. I have made a number of dresses....I mix up the sleeve length and my last one I used the cowl neckline...love! Thanks for your videos...
So glad you like, Lee. Swapping up the style lines along with different fabrics can make it look completely different!
I would love to follow along with your sew-a-long tutorial for the Lisette B6423 coat! I can’t wait!
It's on its way. I've just been reading the pattern to familiarise myself with it. Glad you like my content.
Great review and those are some pretty prints! I like how they are easy to throw on, always need something like that in the closet. LOVE the new camera Claire!

Thanks, great review. Love your channel
Thank you x
Good video love the yellow fabric
I love a sew along!
Great review Claire! I have this pattern and made it up with an inappropriate fabric, never to be worn. I will try it again now after your review and sew along.
Thanks Ann, I am so glad it was helpful. I fear my black dress will have the same fate! Glad to hear you'll try again!
Hi Claire I have that coat pattern so will definitely think of participating in your sew along x
HI ya, yay that would be fantastic if you did! x
QUESTION... What do you mean when you say find your "apex" on the pattern?
Your husband is pretty impressive that colour really suits you. I have this pattern but because I have never used a pdf before I have been putting it off. I think I will have a go,I fancy a Winter dress with a cowl neck.
Thanks! Tbh I think he randomly picked that fabric but it has worked so well. If you dont like a4 printouts it's worth trying a0. If you message me on instagram I can give you an email address of someone with good prices.
You look wonderful in your new yellow floral tee.
Thank you Gloria!
Clare can’t find your other channel. Pop in a link please huni. 🙂
Thanks Claire I would consider making the top version now. Last winter I made lots of basically awesome tees by duck butt designs and found they fitted differently depending on my fabric content. I have never done a fba just picked a size and graded depending in my measurements so might look into this. Thank you for the vlog 💜
Thanks Alison, I am glad you found the video helpful. Introducing FBAs into my sewing really upped my game and I am sure you'll find the same.
Hi Claire can’t wait for the coat sew along I’ve been looking at that coat pattern for a while 🤔😊 love B 🐝
Hey Bridget, should be up the beginning of November all being well. Its exciting!
Penguin and Pear Dressmaking 🥰
Would love the monthly sew along!

LDT is now in Size 5XL. It changed in January.
That's correct..
Yes please for coat sew along
It seems to be quite popular. It'll probably be up in the beginning of November.
I wish I had seen this before I took the salesperson's advice and bought scuba to make this pattern. It was my first time sewing a knit. But scuba--nope--not for this pattern. The black scuba dress is now adorning my dress form. LOL
Hi, I'm about your size and I love your channel. Can you do a trunk show of your T shirts so I can get ideas. Thank you.
Thank you. It would take a lot of work as it's all seen together with the serger. I'll wear under a cardi, it will be fine.
Beautiful Claire!🌺
Thank you Christina x
Thank you, very helpful review.
Glad you liked it Polly.
Your mustard one is brushed ITY I have the same fabric.
Thanks Julie, I really wasnt sure myself as I didnt buy it so didnt see the label. What will you make with yours?
I know what DBP is (double brushed polyester) What is ITY?
I think its interlock jersey
I’m watching videos at 1:30 am and just ordered the Breckinridge and Laundry day tee. Now how will I sleep? I’ll have to dream about fabric 🤣😳😴
Good strategy!
Thank you for letting us know about the no margins on the pattern. I do not like those at all. Pretty but I will skip it.
Thats a shame, I find thrm easier and quicker than patterns with margins.
🖤
The Laundry Day Tee is now up to 5X.
Yes! I shall be doing an update video soon x
I have just purchased the pattern at only 5 dollars bargain
Lovely you'll love it!
