    You gave an excellent presentation and tutorial. It spoke of sewing in such relevance. Not a lot of jibber jabber and I could obsorb the instructions. 👍👍⚘

    Great tip regarding basting the neckband on the sewing machine before serging, for a newbie to serging, like me.

    I am also adding to duffa65 comment. I learned 55 yrs ago to use Stay Tape or some kind of 1:1 ratio, be it 1/4 inch clear elastic, a not quite bias knit fusible piece on the shoulder seams and front neckline to keep the possibility of stretch out of the factor when sewing. At that time a sewing machine. I know they have since talked of the 'wobble stitch-slight zigzag and then the serger came along for us that could afford it or not. I know some designers still use the 'tape', some retail have this, and yet others do not bother. I do love the simplicity of this pattern but will err on caution and use the clear elastic even with my serger. Great presentation. Just my 2 cents worth.

    Your instructions are easy to follow. The only suggestion I would add is the importance of matching the stripes on the front, back and sleeve. Can’t wait to try it!

    I was doing great on my own until I hit the neckband. Thank you for spending so much time on that. The LDT is so incredibly comfortable. I went with 3/4 sleeves on the dress with a vneck and it's very flattering. I should be able to get 2 more done this weekend! Then I suppose I have to do the laundry, don't I?

    Fantastic tutorial.
    I've never downloaded or printed anything bigger than doll clothes patterns, so it was really good to watch you go thru the process of taping this pattern together, laying out the pattern on the fabric, and cutting with the rotary cutter.
    And your explanations of everything were very helpful.
    The tee looked great!
    Thank you so much!

    This is a wonderful tutorial! I am buying a serger and should have it on Monday. Is there any video that shows the serging process? I would love to see how the curves were done on a serger because that is one of my concerns. The patterns are awesome because they allow you to pick your own size rather than try to find your size on all those different lines like other pattern companies. Wonderfully done by Love Notions! ❤️

    Great pattern except each time I've made it I have peaks where the shoulder seams and sleeves come together. I notice you have them too especially visible on your right shoulder. What causes this and how can it be remedied? I love the pattern and really want it to turn out nicely.

    Love this, I think I might take the plunge today - I have the pattern, I am going into town so I'll look for good drape stretchy fabric, and sew one up for a planned dinner out tomorrow. Wish me luck! Question though, what is a lightening stitch? Is that like a shallow zigzag? Won't the seams be all wonky? I have just the basic sewing machine... used to have better, but when we moved internationally I had to leave it behind and now just have the barebones. I think I'm going to make the dress length with elbow length sleeves. I'll post a pic in the group tomorrow if it gets done (and I don't botch it!) Thanks for the amazing tutorial!

    • @LoveNotions
      @LoveNotions  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Thank you so much for your message - I hope you plunge in and have a ton of fun! Wishing you all the luck! A lightening stitch is very similar to a shallow zigzag. If you just glance at it it actually looks a lot like a straight stitch - but that slight bit of zig zag allows it to stretch. Can't wait to see your new makes!

      Hi Sabrina. That promotion is specifically ongoing for our Facebook Support Group. Love Notions uses free patterns to welcome new customers- as a small business we use this offer as a marketing strategy and we invite people into our private FB group to continue to serve and engage people and continue to offer new patterns. If we were to offer a free pattern with no other way to engage or support, it would not make sense for our business in the long term. I hope you understand. ~K

    Nice! What fabric is modal jersey?

    • @LoveNotions
      @LoveNotions  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Modal is a type of fabric made from beech trees - it is a synthetic fabric (like rayon) but it is much more durable and flexible. I love the weight of it. For wovens, there's the Allegro Pants. And we also have the Thomas Track pants (for guys but anyone can sew and wear em!) which isn't really a jogger but folks in our FB group have added elastic to the hem for joggers! ~J
