This is true. My father-in-law was only 16 yrs old when he fought with the allied forces to defend Korea in the Korean war. He was honored as a war veteran upon his death and was laid to rest in the "Libingan ng mga Bayani" (Heroes Cemetery) here in the Philippines. He has interesting stories of how they won that war. 🙂
@@mark72141 I learned through a veteran of WWII (through the help of Veterans' Affairs and the Philippine Military Academy) that he was 15 turning 16, undergoing his 1st year of training when the Japanese launched their attack. Their initial command was to evacuate since they were not obligated to join the force but their youth group ages 16-21 answered to the call of duty. So there were 16yos who went to battle. They had no ranks, but they followed the military rule to follow age. Their platoon commander was 21 y/o. This is purely from memory so there might be some inaccuracy, but I'm certain about their ages. (But this was WWII, not the Korean War.)
This was the time when Philippines was still one with the most powerful military in Asia next to Japan after WW2. Sadly we were left behind because of our unending battle against communists and insurgents. 😔 Thank you KORPHIL for appreciating the contributions of Filipinos in your country.

Name a scam: "Korean are very nice and friendly to filipino." Yet koreans discriminating filipinos today in our century. Only Sandara defended our country to Korea after the issue about discriminating filipinos via tv show.
Puerto Rican left their post and some American soldiers left, fighting filipinos even wished their death already. But survived from it, 1,300 but strong enough for 10thousand more.
not only puerto ricans, and turkish but when turkish left their post too so chinese soldiers have chance to push, but they didn't know that filipino soldiers have platoon in mountain so they didn't not do what they intended, filipino soldiers hold their post until noon, and that's the evidence that filipinos can give their lives just to help someone, and for you guys thank you for the appreciations i thought some koreans not interested for that story, mabuhayyyy!!
A battalion of the Puerto Ricans was forced to fall back, but the rest of the Puerto Ricans (the 65th Infantry Regiment) remained in the area along with the Philippine 10th BCT.
Yeah right so they can be atleast greatful to us rather than shaming us because of the color of our skin. And use "filipino" word as a criticism to someone who is dark skinned lol.

My great-grandfather is a veteran of WW2 and korean war. He lost his hearing with his left ear, a lifetime injury with left knee, and minor PTSD when he hears loud noises. In all the battles he encountered, the battle of yultong is the one he refuses to tell when he was still alive, because he lost both of his bestfriend and one of them supposedly getting married, but sadly he died in action. I think the battle of yultong is the most terrifying battle for my great lolo, he just mentioned that bullets are coming from any directions, and he was lucky to be survive that.
Am very. Happy with this video cozmy father fought in KIREA as PEFTOK ..soldier sent by the Philippines govt. In 1951.while my father was fighting there my mother delivered a boy back in the Philippines and was baptised named CORINO instead of KOREANO . This CORINO is me now doing a reaction ..Am a living testimony to my father's bravery as a Filipino soldier and luckily he was Bach home alive swing me after the Korean war.Glad that this video reminds me of my father's legacy to the pinoys and Koreans until the next generation to come. My father then was both a Korean U S. Veteran .He passed away 10 Years ago.
Some filipino soldier who fought there have secret weapon and that is our god, thats why they win the fight... Since i was a kid i already know it because my grandfather tell us that war story , he's one of the soldier who fought in that war and im so proud of him...
My late grandfather Col Alfredo L Cayton Sr was the supply officer of 10th Battalion Combat Team during the Battle of Yultong. He survived the war and passed away in 2008. Thank you to all Koreans for honoring Filipino soldiers then and until now. In 2008 I visited South Korea through your government’s revisit program for Korean war descendants. I am very grafeful for your respect and gratitude to us Filipinos. Now I am working part-time as English tutor to Koreans. Cheers to our friendship then, now, and until forever!
the situation goes like this: 40k chinese and nokor armies launched an attack... the turkish army on the right side retreated,.... then on the left side, being outnumbered, the puerto rican armies also retreated..... leaving the philippine army alone... the filipino soldiers refused to leave (although they could leave the position at that moment and nothing to shame for being the last men standing).... outnumbered but not out of resources (one of filipino traits being resourceful in a given situation/condition), all the filipinos even the cooks joined the battle (rather fight than die without fighting.. rather fight than retreat and surrendered the strategic position to the enemies).. on the next day, when the reincforcement arrive, an american official asked the exhausted filipino soldiers.... us official: "what are those piles of clothes?" filipino soldier: "they are dead Reds (communists), sir!!!! ahh.. heroics of filipinos to fight and die for another country and race that is not remembered and fully credited... the credit goes to the US being the "hero" that saved south korea's existence and the UN even the "united nation" soldiers left the filipinos in the battlefield... sad reality... 😔
U know whats sad is how u think ma brotha not trying to offend u. Theres a lot of reason why US takes most of the credit i can only give u the ones that are on top of head dow. 1st is that it was the US who went to war. They sent most of the troops(troop sent outnumbers combined UN force significantly). Theres quite a lot of battle that occured during the korean war. Winning one battle doesnt mean winning the war. I know we are one proud race but war is nothing to be proud of dow its motivating empowering how an outnumbered troop fend of thousands. Also people now adays are less interested in history. Theres a lot more i want to add to this but i got lazy mid paragraph
@@roadkill8098 read the context... i'm not saying US should not be credited.. but, i was also saying we must also be credited for our accomplishments... you know why only filipinos know that particular battle? needless to say, not all filipinos knew that happen... then ask yourself why...
Real Top We did get credit for participating. Thru UN cos phil troop fought under UN force. People dont see the korean war how the participants see it. To most people its between US and Soviet Union.
Thumb Tacks im fil btw. They werent forgotten. Korea actually built monuments as a remembrance / sign of appreciation. The reason why U.S didnt give financial support after the war is cos they were volunteers doe it wouldve been nice if they did. If youre talking about ww2 then, yes they may or may have not provided financial support for the participants and thats sad but they helped philippines many different ways(economically, politically, relief..etc)

He became interested with the Korean Culture and he even studied the language. He then met this lovely lady (Su Yeon) a South Korean Teacher and Humanitarian Worker. They shared experiences about the struggles in their lives until they fell in love with each other. As the war continues, Sgt. Maximo was drafted to join the 10th Battalion as part of the UN reinforcements. They will be escort the Humanitarian Volunteers where Su Yeon is part of. The groups will head towards North, from Busan to Suwon, crossing the Han River, Seoul and Gyeonggi Do! By April 1951, Sgt Maximo will now join the troops stationed in Yultong (Yeoncheon County), departed from Su Yeon whose group were left in Seoul. Their Love will be separated by the War, but soon, will find themselves back in each others' arms as Sgt Maximo will survive the Battle of Yultong. By the end of the War, Sgt. Maximo will decide to declare himself as one of the MIAs (Missing in Action) to marry Su Yeon and live with her in Korea.

Name a scam:
"Korean are very nice and friendly to filipino."
Yet koreans discriminating filipinos today in our century. Only Sandara defended our country to Korea after the issue about discriminating filipinos via tv show.
Puerto Rican left their post and some American soldiers left, fighting filipinos even wished their death already. But survived from it, 1,300 but strong enough for 10thousand more.
Yes. But americans were more honored and Filipino soldiers sacrifice was not regarded relevant. Most koreans dont know the Philippines' contribution
not only puerto ricans, and turkish but when turkish left their post too so chinese soldiers have chance to push, but they didn't know that filipino soldiers have platoon in mountain so they didn't not do what they intended, filipino soldiers hold their post until noon, and that's the evidence that filipinos can give their lives just to help someone, and for you guys thank you for the appreciations i thought some koreans not interested for that story, mabuhayyyy!!
do you know the battle of eerie?
So inspiring filipino soldiers strong n brave salute all this hero soldiers..
A battalion of the Puerto Ricans was forced to fall back, but the rest of the Puerto Ricans (the 65th Infantry Regiment) remained in the area along with the Philippine 10th BCT.
Korean schools must learn about dis
Yeah right so they can be atleast greatful to us rather than shaming us because of the color of our skin. And use "filipino" word as a criticism to someone who is dark skinned lol.
Dont worry we learn these stuff in the military
Nemfa Quijano well if you say koreans, you guys also say “ching chong” whatsoever. So i think what matters here is not to ask for thanks/gratefulness for what you guys did since we already know that and we are always thankful for what you guys did. come here and see the monuments built for you guys in korea. do you guys thank the koreans when we help you do we even ask you guys to be thanked/and to be grateful ? Hm i wonder.

Veteran .He passed away 10 Years ago.
thank you for your Father braveness God bless.

Cheers to our friendship then, now, and until forever!
the situation goes like this:
40k chinese and nokor armies launched an attack... the turkish army on the right side retreated,....
then on the left side, being outnumbered, the puerto rican armies also retreated..... leaving the philippine army alone...
the filipino soldiers refused to leave (although they could leave the position at that moment and nothing to shame for being the last men standing)....
outnumbered but not out of resources (one of filipino traits being resourceful in a given situation/condition), all the filipinos even the cooks joined the battle (rather fight than die without fighting.. rather fight than retreat and surrendered the strategic position to the enemies)..
on the next day, when the reincforcement arrive, an american official asked the exhausted filipino soldiers....
us official:
"what are those piles of clothes?"
filipino soldier:
"they are dead Reds (communists), sir!!!!
ahh.. heroics of filipinos to fight and die for another country and race that is not remembered and fully credited... the credit goes to the US being the "hero" that saved south korea's existence and the UN even the "united nation" soldiers left the filipinos in the battlefield...
sad reality...
Real Top yeah you were right. Credit goes to US. Mostly Korean knew it was the US who Solely help them.
Thank you showing the history of your country and Philippines, proud to know Korean people have the courage at that time to stand up for freedom, And I’m proud of my country the Philippines who helped, I learned about we were involve in a foreign war , but never mentioned Korea I thank both of you.maybe someday I’ll visit this memorial place for the Filipino soldiers .
