      Thank you. I was not paying attention to how many videos I had released. Was a bit of a surprise

    Nice video. I absolutely love my Phylida GMT, i believe is one of the most underrated watches in the collectors community. The Dixmont Guangzhou 2813 movement is a tough workhorse that will last many many years and the bracelet melts into my wrist. All in all taking that refine and delicate differences you pointed out, Omega not worth that 50 times higher price tag IMHO.

      Thank you. It’s a great watch. I’m very impressed by it and definitely worth more than the cost to buy it.

    I have that exact Phylida GMT and I absolutely love it! I own watches that where almost 6 times the price and the fit, finish, bracelet, clasp and specs blows them out of the water. For the money it is superb!!

      I had the same experience with it. Truly amazing.

    Thanks for watching my comparison between the real Omega GMT with its much cheaper homage. The Phylida GMT.

    I just received my Phylida GMT. I love Omega, however there are aspects of the Phylida that for the astronomical price difference are significant. Firstly as my third Phylida watch the total package is faultless. I paid $115.00 USD. The hands are more distinctive than the Omega. The bezel is far nicer. The lume has been vastly improved with BGW9 and it really works well and consistently between the bezel and hands. The Seiko GMT movement is fantastic and appears to be extremely accurate. I am astonished a watch of this quality can be manufactured and sold at this price. Not sure if the helium valve is functional and as my diving days are over I just don't care. Gonna run me a bubble bath and enjoy this watch.

      One of the best I’ve experienced. Much much better than the price suggests and now with the Seiko movement. Wow. What a great watch.
      I sold mine to a good friend who wears it everyday. So I still get to see it regularly.
      I am super tempted to buy it again with the Seiko movement and gift it to my friend as a surprise.

    • @WATCHingJames
      @WATCHingJames  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It does. A friend of mine now owns it and it is running well.
      The new versions of this watch now come with the Seiko NH34 which is an even better movement

    The design of the Phylida doesn't do too bad actually. I much prefer the more modern bezel of the Phylida. The Omega movement is in a different world, but then so is the price. But the fake helium escape valve is really weird. I know it's a homage and they're trying to get it to look the same, but for me, that's a deal breaker. Anyway, great review!

      Thank you. Yes it is odd to have the valve. But overall it’s a great watch

    How is your Phylida SE-12 GMT holding up? The one I ordered from AliExpress just arrived today, and I immediately noticed two problems with the DG5833 movement when I pull the crown out to set the time:
    The SECOND hand, AFTER you press the crown back in:
    a) Sometimes jumps ahead by 3-4 seconds;
    b) other times, waits 2 seconds before restarting;
    c) and worse of all, sometimes does NOT RESTART AT ALL, until I shake the watch, and only then does the second hand starts moving
    The MINUTE hand:
    1) will sometimes move 2-3 minutes one way or another when you press the crown back in. I've only experienced this problem with ultra low-end watch movements.
    Do you experience the same thing with the DG5833 movement in your Phylida SE-12? I'm wondering if I got a watch with a bad movement, or if these problems are pretty typical for the DG5833 GMT movement?

      I sold mine to a good friend who now wears it every day.
      It is still running well.
      There movements are known to jump around a bit when resetting time.
      I think there is a trick to avoid this. I saw a great video on TH-cam about it.

    Give your brother back the Phylida it’s done so well he won’t even notice will he?!!! Haha
    I have a Phylida in my Ali cart to try out the brand that is a seamaster homage but not the gmt. Phylida looks well done for a homage watch, one thing I wish it did that the pagani did is get rid of the fake helium escape valve at the 10 o’clock but very nice homage watch for sure.
    Great video James!

      Hahaha. I did try but he noticed straight away 😄
      I agree about the valve. But I guess they are just trying to look like the original.

    Will admit Phylida has done a fairly solid job, especially given the price point. The only thing the phylida has against it is the name, not sure what they were thinking. The Omega is just awesome and a proper grail but, the chinese does have a solid value.

    • @WATCHingJames
      @WATCHingJames  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It is a bit of a strange name but it does not bother me too much.
      I’m still impressed how well it feels and looks compared to the Omega.

    I recently acquired the Phylida and overall, I'm pretty impressed. It's a very handsome watch, especially for the price.
    At the moment, it's my watch of choice, most days, from my small collection.
    Using the crown is a bit fiddly though, but you get used to it.
    And automatic watches are generally not as accurate as quartz; mine slows about 20 sec a day.
    Then again, one of my quartz watches currently only gets the time correct twice a day.
    Changing batteries is not a problem I expect with my Phylida.
    Great review as always ⏲

    Phylida have certainly made a good copy at a low price 👍 .What does your brother think about the homages of his watch? Has he had a chance to compare them? Good video 👍

    • @WATCHingJames
      @WATCHingJames  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thank you. He is impressed by it. He said that at a glance or quick look he could not tell the difference.
      Even in hand he was surprised at the quality of the Phylida at the price they ask for it.

    Awesome comparison James definitely both provided definitely in this hobby if you want the omega you'll get it but if want to know what it may feel like get a homage to see if you want the real thing

    Great comparo. The Phylida doesn't do too badly. Solid homage. The bracelet on the Omega... even just watching one can "feel" the quality. Must be superbly comfortable on wrist.

      The omega feels amazing on wrist. Definitely refined and better than the Phylida. But I’m still impressed how well the homage stacks up.
