Wonderful video!!!. I am an old man and have been collecting economic watches since the 50´s and witnessed the birth of Omegas Speedmaster, Seamaster and Railmaster in 1957. It is impossible to an normal argentine to buy Omegas, even U$S 100 is the salary of a month but now I have hope before I die. I have collaborated with a local Omega store and saw many brands with watches costing dozens of times more with failures of quality controls that would amaze you. Omega and Rolex could lower its prices too. We are not all in the First World. Cheers from frozen Patagonia, Argentina.
I have this watch with the PT5000 movement and love it. The watch is on a NATO NTTD strap. I am just getting into watches as a new hobby. I bought a timegrapher and put my watch on it today, it was 12 sec fast with .1 beat error. I was able to get the beat error to zero with only +6 sec a day. This is my second favorite of my 7 watches I have have so far. I like my Orient Kamasu red dial the best of my divers but this one is really close and some days better depending on what I'm wearing :) I think the PT5000 in this watch may be better than the movement in the Orient though and has a way better crown than the Orient Kamasu.
Great review as always from your channel, gorgeous filming, and I was all but convinced to pull the trigger until your wristwatch check and that absolutely stunning Seiko Chronography Quartz. That one please.
Nice review. Looking forward to see the comparison with the Heimdallr... Something that disturb me with those NTTD homages is that they are really thick, here 14.5mm while using a pt5000, a pretty slim movement, I would have liked them to make those watches around 13mm. Would have been easier to wear.
I’m starting to think I lucked out with my Phylida. I’ve noticed on a lot of these reviews, version 1 and 2 of this watch, that the bezel numerals and dial indices have a yellow color to them. The one on mine, which is the miyota movement, has much closer to the real Omega with the brownish orange patina look to it. I’ve yet to see another one like it and I want to track down a PT5000 version of this watch. Great video all the same man!
I've had the pt5000 since it was introduced and it's performed as expected. I also changed the bezel to a glossy black with gold. I think black matte would work better with titanium. It is a very nice watch.
@@cirealreviews1776 I have a couple of alpinas with sw200s, a couple of Swiss with 2824, a couple of nh35, and now a couple of pt5000.. The only watch mvmt I've had had problems with was 7750 that's currently in for an expensive service. The pt5000 runs accurate and winds smooth.. No issues and I've had one for almost a year now.
Great review, i have the white one for some days now. It has the same quality but unfortunately no pt5000 option. The bracelet is amazing and the screw / pin system is easy to adjust. If you can live with the name and plain caseback and clasp it wil not disappoint. And strangely the white dial version has a lumed bezel.
Tbf, phylida make brilliant watches, this 1 included. Its such a shame they wont do something about the name. Awesome reveiw btw matey, thorough as usual👍
I have one and agree it's the best NTTD homage watch, even better than the Heimdallr version, which costs more, but that one is titanium. But had this watch 6 months and it is a dream, fantastic movement, it's my daily driver, although Matic from phylida has just taken its place. Regards
Far away the best review out there about this NTTD homage! I have the opportunity to buy the new Soprod P092 Newton movement, I hope that it fits on this watch
Another fantastic in depth review it also looked great on wrist really appreciate your videos although haven't seen any new videos from your other great channel I'm going to need serious help with my 50th anniversary mod aka Willard NKST wasn't quite enough for me to go for it especially with my vision problem any advice would be greatly appreciated mate
Hi I think the spinning rota is a fault, I have a pt5000 in a San Martin BB58 and it does not spin when wound. The rota should disengage in winding position . Look up ETA 2824 faults. I have never understood why companies want to clone 2824 when ETA 2892 is a much better movement I’d clone the ETA 2892 every time
not sure why Phylida don’t use the other lettering Ived seen on Aliexpress when you go to message seller. The Lettering is much cooler and also got a small Logo on top of the name like a crown.
I own the previous Phylida version (glossy bezel insert, etc.) and that was VERY yellow. I ended up painting the markings myself. This one certainly looks the same, but it could be the lighting.
I own the previous version, and I must say that the matte bezel insert on this one is a huge improvement. But I still feel that this is really an homage to the standard Seamaster 300 and not the specific NTTD version. The only thing differentiating it from a black SMP is the paint on the indices and bezel markings. Even though Heimdallr's offering uses the "rat's teeth" marking at the 12 o'clock position, I feel their titanium case, domed sapphire crystal, and milanese bracelet option put it at the top of the NTTD homages (shame that their bezel is such a royal pain, though.)
Hmm that is interesting that you prefer the hrimdallr version. I do like the crystal and dial set up on the heimdallr. Hang on for the comparison then!
Appreciate the detail and depth of your reviews lately on these, definitely a plus. I ended up getting one during the anniversary sale. Not planned, but in my browsing to browse, and throwing things into the cart to see what the discounts were, I was able to score the pt5000 version for $130us, and decided that was a sign....😇 Looking forward to my own, personal unboxing in a few weeks...It looks great on video, and I have decided the name is not as important to me as a great homage that is well built.
I like that it has a nice bracelet. I wanted a Heimdallr version, but they only have ugly, cheap looking straps. It might be the same as Omega or Bond movie, but I still don't like it and it was a dealbreaker.
A helium escape valve ? They're having a laugh 😂 When taking into account the fact that 90 per cent or more of dive/dive style watches never go anywhere near water other than washing up a few dishes, is a helium release valve really necessary ? I would do away with that feature and spend a little more on other aspects of the watch.
This is a nice watch your reviewing but what are you wearing on your wrist and why don’t you do a wrist check of what your wearing at the beginning of your video? Come on man LOL 😂
Phylida changed the coloring on this NTTD homage. This new version looks worse - the bezel color looks yellow. Not sure why they would do that, the earlier model looked most like the Omega it models.
What’s in a name?...well too much sometimes, the name sounds like an STD. It looks great though! I love the bracketed 4 minute sections between the indices. With ya on the seamaster, I don’t love the look. However the vintage looking seamaster 300 is fresh AF. I’m the biggest flip flopping flake in the world when it comes to homage/copy watches. I’m all about a homage almost always but there comes a point where there is nothing but a logo to differentiate. That’s where I flip flop...sometimes I’m totally cool with it and other times I snob out. I did a podcast yesterday and was talking about how originality on a planet of 9 billion humans is random at best. I was kinda dogging the fact that companies homage but also making the point that every single watch made after the first one was a homage. I know deep down I like them but I constantly play devils advocate and try different “opinion angles.” I’m a walking contradiction at times, I really should get into American politics..😉 Great review bro!...sorry about my sidetracked comment...got wrapped in thought thinking about the Heimdallr version.
The name does NOT sound like an STD. That is just stupid and ignorant.... it comes from Greek and means 'green leaves/foliage'. How on earth does Phylida sound like Chlamydia? Stupid.....😖

My favorite part is that matte black bezel. It cuts down on the glossy shine and gives the watch a specific grayish color.
Glad I held out for this version ..... I got mine on the strength of your unboxing vid .... Thanks
Hi! May I ask something? Is it true that the bezel has 120 clicks and no backplay? Thanks in advance!
Yes

Superb. Review to superb homage .. many thanks for the work put together.
Many thanks!
I'm waiting on the 2 tone edition and looking forward to it. Thanks for the review. Cheers
nice NTTD homage, can you do a ranking vid of all the Omega SM homages that you have from worst to best?
Cant wait for comparison vid. I went with the heimdallr for the titanium and the sweet mesh, but dont know about the long L2L.

It is a huge shame regarding the name i agree. The watch itself, is difficult to fault
Great watch but the name sounds like an unpleasant medical ailment!
Looks like Phylida have started making watches under the Matic brand. Would love to see your review of these!

Has anyone replaced the clasp to the Omega style ones that have the micro adjustment push button?
Which you think is a cooler looking watch this one the no-time-to-die or the black Bay 58 Saint Martin

These have come along so well since I first had one in. Brilliant the way its developed. Might even buy a new one haha.
They have mate, awesome quality
ordered mine, hope it looks so good.
Is this better than the Heimdallr?
Thanks for the great review. I'm wondering how it stands up against the Heimdallr titanium.
Yeh that comparison will be coming up
@@TheWatcherReviews I truly hope the Phylida is better, because the Heimdallr titanium with white dial on mesh strap is pretty amazing.
@@BCallum
The Heimdallr Titanium does have similar bezel problems to the Omega NTTD titanium.
Is it mine obscure knowledge or this movement has a bit loe amplitude? I saw some numbers saying 250 is still OK ?
You still digging the bond homage ? It looks great for the money !
Is it just me or do the numerals on the bezel look a bit yellow, rather than the beige colour of the original?
I own the previous Phylida version (glossy bezel insert, etc.) and that was VERY yellow. I ended up painting the markings myself. This one certainly looks the same, but it could be the lighting.
I think it is the lighting. The camera increase the colour temp on a lighter background.it isnt that yellow and closer to beige
Great review! Is the color yellow or more beige/brown? :)
A bit more yellow than beige

Unlike PD and SD, Phylida have a small product porfolio and it looks like this is the one that they really excel.

Vintage diver?
Would be nice to see a v2 with lumed bezel like the Omega it’s a homage to.
Hence why the limited edition Octopus NTTD Titanium homage is the best NTTD homage by far
Does this watch have any jewel??
great watch indeed

i used to go diving in my genuine seamaster - still never had to use the helium release valve lol
It's a NTTD homage. The original has an He valve. So does the homage...
Please change the name Phylida!!- it’s the only thing stopping me from buying this one! Good review thank you👍
NO! the best seamaster homage micro is now made by HEIMDALLR. check it out, they get everything right!!!
I have...i have a review on it...
how is it the best?
@@TheWatcherReviews which would you recommend between the two? I like that Phylida has PT Movement but Heimdallr has the name brand...
Philyda? Syphilys? Who invents the silly names? Great watch but the name is ruining it.
