Hey man think I’ve decided on the heimdallr think the quality and materials looks a lot better package. Also is the blue AR coating really blue in person or look more blue on camera?? Could always replace for another would that be expensive? Love the bracelet too so think the whole package is better!
Hey Richard! The Heimdallr is the better value overall imo, and if you have access to a modded or are able to replace the crystal with a clear one it would be absolutely worth it. The blue AR is very blue in person and on camera. I know most modders would probably charge $50-100 in labor so factor that along with the cost of the crystal.
Great comparison Dave. Sorry to hear about your Grandfather. I really like the Phylida nttd with the PT5000, but I'm considering the Matic Seamaster 300 homage in black (same company I think)
I ended up purchasing the Heimdallr and Phylida (Phylida's NTTD is updated with engraved specs on back and female end links), and I tell you, they both have their pluses. I was considering keeping what I thought was the best of the two but I really like both. Both movements (NH35A and PT5000) are within 1 second out of the box -- phenomenal! Lume is poor on both, but my Heimdallr is better than the Phylida. The Phylida's dial is most true to the original, even in a nice gray-brown colour, but the case and crystal appear more refined and like the original on the Heimdallr. The blue cast from the AR everyone is mentioning on the Heimdallr is really a non-issue. I get more blue hue from my Breitling and the minor hue on the Heimdallr adds some interest. The AR coating the the Phylida is truly clear. Heimdallr's mesh bracelet is incredible quality, whereas while the Phylida is a solid and nicely done bracelet, the locking mechanism is not very solid. Overall, the Heimdallr wears a little more like a dressy diver and the Phylida a more rugged toolish diver -- both are keepers, IMHO, especially at these prices.
Both of them are worth the price way more than the Omega is. Either of them is a more worth it option to get the NTTD look imo It's very disappointing to me that Omega pulled a Rolex and is charging 10k for a dive watch. There are many Seamaster versions that are way better and you can get for 3k and even 2k
Got the phylida with the PT 5000 ,had it a year now , snorkelled and swam with it , time keeping is superb and I bought a black silicone waffle strap for it which looks good , superb value, I enjoyed your comparison review thanks.
Hey Martin, glad to hear your experience with the Phylida and PT5K is holding up fine after all the water sports! Great watch and I appreciate you checking out my vid! 😎🙌
I ordered a Pagani 1667 for $139 from Amazon. It look the part, and if it sucks, return will be easy. Today is January 10, 2022, and I'm wearing a ProMaster Diver Eco-Drive in black. Sweet piece, and hassle free.
@@rolgolding I got the watch dives NTTD with the new logo on the NATO strap. Dead on homage, super light, titanium, and the bezel is that gorgeous chocolatey brown. Speaking of the bezel, it’s atrocious and barely works. Other than that, I love this thing.
You won’t find another video like this on TH-cam! Awesome video my friend! It’s always great to see “homage” watches compared to the real thing! Very helpful in decision making if you’re looking for a homage to this Omega. I’m amazed at what Heimdallr is putting out!
Aww thanks Josh! You're too kind but I appreciate the kudos! Yeah, I'm with you also on the Heimdallr watch, such a great deal for that watch! Hoping to do more of these in the future so we'll see! 😎🍻👍
Great comparison video bro. I’d go with the Heindallr. Seems to be a hell of a watch for the price. May be the first clomage in my collection. We’ll see.
Thanks bro! Yeah, it really is a ton of bang for buck...I mean titanium case and all the bells and whistles for under $250, it is crazy! Thanks for checking out the vid and I'd be happy to have played a role in you getting your first "clomage" haha, love that word btw! 😎🍻👍
Thank you for the great and in-depth comparison. I have the Heimdallr NTTD on that bracelet. It is for the money, an amazing bargain. I could never afford the Omega, as I could not spend that much on a car, let alone a watch. Thank you!!!
Thansk B! I am glad you enjoyed the video and yes, absolutely, the value of the Heimdallr is mind blowing! The Omega definitely gave me perspective and now I can appreciate watches of that caliber so much more, but I know its just not something a lot of us would be willing to drop the cash on so these homages allow us to get the look and feel without tying up such a large amount. Enjoy your Heimdallr my friend! 😎🍻👍
Thanks Beau! Its great to be back and to finally get this vid out there for y'all! I'm with you on the Heimdallr, a titanium case for that price is nuts! Sorry to hear about the one that was lackluster, I've had that happen with a few watches so I can understand the feelings there. Appreciate you checking out the vid man! 😎🍻👍
Great comparo! I love looks of the Heimdallr overall (titanium, bracelet clasp, hand design, aluminum bezel insert) but was having a hard time telling if the bezel insert was brown or black. You confirmed that it's brown and you're one of the few that did great close shots side-by-side with the legacy Omega. Helped me pick the Sea Ghost.
just got my Phylida. Overall I am satisfied. The band is excellent although the very tiny screws make adjustment a small pain (pun intended). The dial face has the wavy lines. The bezel is shiny. The name Phylida has been removed and only the word automatic is printed below the center. It came well packaged in a plain box. I am happy!
I have both. Phylida scratches my NTTD itch. It has a more attractive dial and hands. Heimdallr has a more attractive case, crystal & bracelet. But because of the blue AR, I got the blue version. The best homage would be Heimdallr case with Phylida module inside.
Nice! Yeah, I can see going with the blue version due to the AR coating. swapping bits from both would truly make the perfect version, I definitely agree! Thanks for giving your feedback as an owner of both! 😎🍻👍
Not an Omega fan, but if I was, I'd go for one of the others! I prefer the Heimdallr but wish it didn't have the blue AR coating. For those who want the Omega style without the Omega price, either would be great. Excellent review as always. BTW, after a 2 month wait my red dial Heimdallr Monster arrived! Very impressed, everything lining up, incredible +2 spd, very good bracelet though sizing it with those pins and collars was quite a job.
Thanks Brian! I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who feels that way about the blue AR coating on this particular model! Wow a 2 month wait must have been brutal but I’m glad your Heimdallr monster arrived and is spot on with its fitment and specs! Their watches are some of the best value out there imo, enjoy yours my friend! 😎🍻🙌
It looks like this video’s been out for 2 years now but I’m glad that I found it. I’m a huge fan of Bond watches and this Omega will be my second favorite after Connery’s Sub. I love the brown tones mixed with the red details and I would buy it if I could afford it. Great comparison video, super helpful, if I could, I would take a little bit of both homages and make the perfect one but I can’t so I would go for the Heimdallr because of the tones and the domed crystal. Thanks for this awesome video!
Thanks man! I owe you more than a shoutout haha, if you ever need a favor, I got you covered brother! Thanks again and I'm glad you enjoyed the comparison vid! 😎🍻👍
Thanks Ross! I am glad that you enjoyed it! Was a lot of fun to make and definitely goes to show how great the value can be with some homages out there! 😎🍻👍
Great review and comparison bro! No doubt the the omega is by far the better watch no questions asked lol. But cool to see some affordable homages. Of the two I think the heimdllr would get my vote. Awesome job bro! Glad to see you back 😊🙏
Thanks Omar! Yeah, that Omega is in the stratosphere when it comes to quality but I can see why these homage options are popular, especially for how inexpensive they are and for the materials you get! Appreciate you stopping by and showing some love bro! 😎🍻👍
Thanks for the shoutout David! Your always free to borrow my watches. I also have the Heimdallr NTTD but with white dial. I’m happy owning both. I think the Phylida is the best NTTD Homage, and the white or blue dial Heimdallr are unique on their own to warrant being in everyone’s collection. The AR Coating is definitely an issue on the Heimdallr but I think the crystal adds to its character. It could possibly the reason I found the Phylida a little dull after opening it after the Heimdallr. If the omega was priced around 5-6k I would jump on it. Fantastic watch!
No prob bro! Thanks to YOU for allowing this vid to happen! And likewise if you ever want to borrow a watch or more just say the word and I got you covered! I really do like the way Phylida stayed more true with the design of the homage where it really counted, the broad arrow on the dial, the crystal, and the hands, etc. I do wish they had done a no-date version but its all good. And yeah that blueish AR coating on the Heimdallr was just a bit too much for my liking, but still, both homages are amazing values! And yup, if that Omega was in that range I'd love to add one to the collection as well! Cheers my friend! 😎🍻👍
Fun vid, thanks! I think Heimdallr nailed the bezel and bracelet, but the Phylida has the better dial and handset (the parallel sides on the hour hand of the Heimdallr just looks off to me). All the best!
Hey Dave! Nice to see you back bud. I actually have the Phylida and paid less than $100 and I think it's great value for money. I do think the AR coating on the Heimdallr is too much. I have their bronze tuna homage and it's the same issue with it which is too bad because apart from that I love it. All the best bud. Thanks
Hey Seeker! Thanks, its great to be back putting out some new content for y'all! I can't believe you were able to get the Phylida for under $100, WOW!! Yes, maybe Heimdallr will see our comments and make some clear AR coating options, I would be all over that and it would be great to have an option in the matter! 😎🍻👍
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed the vid and excellent choice with the Heimdallr!! It’s such a great watch for the price, the specs are just unreal! Enjoy it my friend! 😎🍻👍
Hey Hunter! Thanks so much for checking out the comparison vid and yeah that Sharkey Orange Monster is a beast so I can't blame you for sticking with the Heimdallr as the favorite between these, haha! Enjoy it my friend! 😎🍻👍
I just can't get past the blue reflective coating on the Heimdallr, but it is titanium. I'm a little rough so I'm going to try the PHYLIDA. Thanks for the video.
No prob! I’m glad my comparison helped out, and yes, I too have a hard time getting over the bright blue reflections. If heimdallr had done clear AR it would have been perfect! You’ll love the Phylida for sure! 😎🍻👍
It's crazy to me that the Phylida actually looks better than the Omega it's based from. I think it's down to the bracelet. I've never been big on shark mesh and the original Seamaster bracelet fits this look incredibly well. It almost makes me wish the Goldeneye watch had this look to start Brosnan's tenure. It's almost flawless.
Nice! That PT5000 is the way to go on these imo, for sure! If you are okay with sharing, mind letting us know where you got the custom Milanese bracelet? Is it something anyone could pick up or not really? 😎🍻👍
@@DavidSchwartzjr Absolutely - I got it from UniqueSelling on Etsy. In the Shark Greek is really great quality, though I would advise anyone looking to try and find an adjustable version similar to the actual Omega Milanese.
Thanks bro! You can't go wrong with that Bond NTTD watch, if I ever get my collection rounded out with some luxury pieces, that would be one to set it apart from what everyone else is rocking on the wrist for sure! 😎🍻👍
YES! I completely agree, Harry! And if they did that, I'd snag one up in a heartbeat too lol. Let's cross our fingers and hope they do someday. Cheers man! 😎🍻👍
Glad to see another video from you my friend! For me there’s no comparison, Omega all day everyday ❤️. However the other 2 are great value props for anyone looking for the look. Keep up the amazing work Dave!
Thanks Miguel! Yes, I know, that Omega is simply perfect. Even still though, I gotta hand it to these homage watches, they put out some damn good value hehe. I appreciate you stopping by to show some love bro! 😎🍻👍
That was a great comparison David and I don't understand why it's only popped up in my feed now! As a diver I love them all, however if I was diver coming from another planet who knew nothing about brands I'd go for the Phylida because, Stainless Steel is a far better diving case, and the bracelet is more suitable. Milanese is not a dive watch bracelet, it's more casual style. As for the HEV, they could be functional on the cheaper watches, it's not exactly a high tech thing, and it's not really necessary at all, unless you're diving far beyond recreational depths.
Thanks Brian! I’m glad you got to check this one out recently! I can definitely see the appeal with the stainless steel case and bracelet. 😎👍 Yeah even 300M is overkill for my needs so try HEV is cool but would never be required for my watch needs haha. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Cheers my friend! 🙌
I have the original Omega NTTD, it’s great but I am thinking about buying the Heimdallr in white and blue too. I believe their V2 has addressed the screw down crown and bezel flaws.
Thanks watsonda! It's good to be back and I'm ready to start hammering out some new content for you guys, got a few surprises along the way as well! 😎🍻👍
Great job with the comparison, Dave! Very thorough and detailed. It will help the ones buying the Phylida and Heimdallr for sure. The Omega is miles better for sure, but the Heimdallr is very good in its level (except for the legibility thanks to the AR coating). I'd rather get the Heimdallr than the Phylida even at the higher price.
Thanks! Yes I really think if the Heimdallr had clear AR and a double or single dome crystal, maybe no date option, it would have been a home run. Still an amazing watch for the price imo! Thanks for sharing your thoughts Eve! And it’s good to be back, lots of work to get caught up on now 🤭
Everyone has a different opinion on homage watches. But from where I stand today, the quality of the Heimdallr makes it hard to justify the price of the Omega. Of course my opinion is subject to the potential for change.
Hey Ken, sorry I missed this comment last week! I agree, the Heimdallr is so much bang for buck, and while the finishing isn't the same as the Omega, it will definitely scratch that itch. The price difference is HUGE so I completely understand where you're coming from! I also think if I had the 9K to drop for a watch, I would probably get a few others before choosing this one, but that could change someday too haha. Cheers my friend! 😎🍻👍
Habe mir die Phylida NTTD vor ca. 1 1/2 Jahren gekauft. Nach ein paar Monaten ist die Krone heruntergegangen, seit ein paar Wochen funktioniert die Uhr gar nicht mehr.
I actually just ordered a Matic sea master Homage. Have not got it yet but it is basically the “high end” version of Phylida’s models (same company). From the sound this Philida has the same specs. I don’t have it yet because of Chinese New Year, but i suspect i will be getting the hiemdallr down the road and seeing if i can make a bit of a franken watch to get all of the best features. Will keep this updated with what i know
Hey sorry for the late reply, I'm gonna dig a bit on the Matic watches, had not heard of them before! I hope you are able to get it sooner than later, I have a few delays due to the Chinese New Year as well, but that is all good! Would love to hear any updates if you can! Cheers! 😎🍻👍
@@DavidSchwartzjr hey, just got my Matic Sea Master Homage, and dang, it’s nice, brushing might be a little off on the case sides, and the bracelet is good if a little rattly, clasp works really good. Dang the Dial, Bezel and hands are amazing, basically 0 play in the bezel and turns nicely, good sound. The dial is nice with the slight sunburst on the “wave pattern” makes it more subtle in effect than the images. Only odd duck in the finish is the Helium Release valve (which according to The “I Like Watches” channel these do preform the function, just not as elegantly as more expensive versions of the valve) has what looks like Blue… enamel? Half rubbed off, not sure if it didn’t get cleaned or if it was not applied properly and it is supposed to be blue on the end. Have pics if you want. Not sure on the Pt5000 yet as i just got it and have not hand a chance to see if it is calibrated well and or was oiled/ cleaned properly during assembly. The winding is a little gritty and can be heard. Honestly i can live with it. But i suspect the movement will improve with time and a service. Lume is excellent, bright when charged and evenly applied over the hands, dial and Bezel, the C3 lume seems to take my flashlight well as does the BGW9 seems to take the light just as well, as i said very even. Can’t think of anything else other than i really like the watch, I have ordered the Heimdallr Titanium and am thinking of doing a franken watch between the two. We shall see what happens!
Have any new homages for the 007 NTTD come out for 2022? If not I'll probably go with the Heimdallr over the other as the date wheel is at 6 instead of at 3 o'clock position.
The Heimdallr dial that actually works for me..... Is the white/cream dial version.... Because of the black around the indices..... It probably shouldn't have the helium escape valve..... That would give it a little more separation from feeling like an exact clone.....
Haha congrats my friend!! That is truly a blessing and when on the wrist it will be a constant reminder of jus that. Enjoy it in the best of health! 😎🍾🙌
not sure why Phylida don’t use the other lettering Ived seen on Aliexpress when you go to message seller. The Lettering is much cooler and also got a small Logo on top of the name like a crown.
Great video man. I love seeing and hearing about homage watches and what you can find something a lot more affordable of a high end watch that looks similar. I love having multiple watches and at affordable price points it allows me to do so. Quick question, have you seen the paulareis comparison watch at all? It has the mesh band and very similar face to the Omega. If so, is the Paulareis watch website safe to order from or a valid website to order paulareis watches from? Thanks for your help and you have gained a new fan and subscriber!
Hey, thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I have not seen the paulareis version of this one myself. I just looked it up and I would say you may be better off ordering it from AliExpress. Might take a bit longer to get here, but usually their customer service handling will be better versus going through the website (just my assumption). This was the seller I found on AliEx: bit.ly/310lhmi Thanks for the support and I hope you'll enjoy future vids! Cheers! 😎🍻👍
@@DavidSchwartzjr Awesome, thanks for the recommendation, I appreciate it. The Paulareis website just looks kind of sketchy and reminds me of a scammer watch website if that makes sense lol have you ever thought about doing to homage video for like a Rolex Daytona oysterflex band? I love the oysterflex bands and was trying to find something in comparison to that look. Keep up the great videos 👍🏼
@@Revell25 Haha, no worries I've seen plenty of sites like that! I could've sworn I had done one of the aftermarket rolex straps I own from Strapsco but couldnt find it when I just looked for it now. Their rubber straps do have the oysterflex venting as well as the clasp options. I'm not sure if its compatible with their "glidelock" style clasp but I'll put a link so you can check them out. I'll try to put out a short or a vid on it soon too! strapsco.com/product-category/bands-for-rolex/
@@DavidSchwartzjr Thats awesome, thanks man! I just love that watch so if I can find something similar to that is affordable to add to the collection would be great! I know I'm asking a lot of questions but how do you feel about Casio watches? Ive seen a couple watch guys that focus on higher end brands like them for affordable brands. Looking forward to some more videos!
Great comparison. I have the PT5000 Phylida sterile version and its been running +/- 1 second for the one month that I have it. Don't care much about straps because my watches are usually on leather or rubber. The only complain I have of the Phylida is in my opinion, the dial sits too low from the crystal surface . Hence the inside of the bezel is 1-2 mm thicker , which gives a less refine and more chunky look.
Fantastic review and comparison m8! Too bad The pagani version couldn’t make it for the comparison, but of the two homages here I Think the Heimdallr takes the win, overall, the date window on the Phylida is meh, the font and border on the Heim is def better.....bracelet is nice on the Heim as well and it definitely more true to the original. Awesome vid as usual my friend!
Thanks man! Yeah, I thought about trying to get the PD in the channel as well but I was limited on my time with the Omega so I had to work with what I could. Appreciate you checking it out and yea the Heimdallr was definitely closer to the real deal with its design and material I'd say! 😎🍻👍
@@DavidSchwartzjr no worries man no worries, would love your feedback, got a new logo and incorporating some new things....nothing overly exciting but they are getting better I think
Hey, sorry about the late reply! So the rotor sound is one of those things that can be hit or miss. In this particular one it wasn't obnoxiously loud, but from most of the cheaper Miyota movement's I've owned, they are loud enough to annoy me lol. For the cost savings, it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me, but if you know it will bother you, I would opt for the better movement if I'm being completely honest. Cheers! 😎🍻👍
Nomages for me, Omega all the way! Great video. Glad your back doing what you love. Still praying for you and family. Takes time brother but you'll get there. You one of the most genuine Content Creators out there! Keep up great content, much love!👊👊
Hehe I know you are not a fan Junior but at least the real deal Omega was in this one a bit to see again. Thanks for always checking out my vids even if they are not your fav! Also, Agelocer did a giveaway on their Instagram page last month and are doing another one this month in case you’re interested! 😎🍻👍
Thanks brother! Yes, that Omega really changed the way I look at watches, especially when I get on a macro level, everything is so different. I would love to own one someday, but maybe once the collection is a bit more well rounded out. Cheers man! 😎🍻👍
I'm enjoying the Heimdallr. I didn't like the milanese bracelet - either you fit the holes or you don't: I didn't. Why does nobody talk bout the hour indices NOT being circular?
Just depends, I personally would say the Heimdallr is the closer in terms of materials, but that blue AR was a deal breaker for me. I’m hoping they do a version with clear AR someday! You will be happy I think with either one tbh!
@@DavidSchwartzjr Just how "bad" is that blue hue in person? I find that the Heimdallr is a better "fit" for what I'm looking for, but I'm also thinking that the blue hue could be a "deal breaker" (other owners please feel free to chime in. I would like to own a lighter watch. The Phylida is bulkier than the one I wear and I would likely have to replace the bracelet. I prefer no date for this homage, but Heimdallr does a better job by putting it at six AND framing it. Why they failed to put the upwards arrow, IDK, but it's not a deal breaker. Why they DID choose their 12 o'clock marking, I don't know, but all of the other homages look better at 12 o'clock. Heimdallr got the colors on the watch perfectly correct. The Phylida looks too yellow, but still looks great. The Phylida did a better job at the shape of the hour markings though and is simply easier to read. Oh, did I just talk myself into the Phylida? Can anyone recommend a good bracelet for it? :-) That's another thing the Heimdallr did nicely. For the record, I'm not one who cares much about bezel action or lume. I'm the guy wearing an 85 dollar Invicta 8926OB that keeps excellent time and has yet to find another Sub copy near it in value or looks. The Omega NTTD in these colors really caught my eye, so I'm hoping all of these homages improve. If you mixed the best of the Heimdallr and Phylida, you'd be there.
@@michaeljohnrowley8384 did you get any watch in the end? Been researching for few days and think I’ve decided on the heimdallr! Can always change the dome for with clear AR coating if not happy shouldn’t cost much right? I don’t know?
@@richardlittle9975 I got the Phylida with the PT5000 movement. It hasn't lost a minute! Best time keeper I own and incredibly easy to read. I don't like what Heimdallr did with 12 o'clock position and I think Phylida has really nailed the homage better (I got a mesh bracelet for it). I like it so much, I'm going to get the Matic diver (same company, different branding) in blue next!
@@michaeljohnrowley8384 I’m 95% sure on the heimdallr. I have it in my basket now. Just deciding how I’m going to get it from China! So there’s 2 free shipping options to the UK but says could take upto 2 months! Then there’s a 3rd option for $30 says between 3 and 14 days hmm? 🤔 the more I look at the heim the more I like it ! The titanium casing and not too much of a direct copy but taking the cool aspects from the 007 watches and adding it’s own touches makes this the choice for me! What you think ?
Well now I've seen it, I still don't really get who this is for. I have one of those Heimdallr Milanese strap/bracelets, and the finish is much better. Sure it doesn't have the fancy signed "tip plate" but it's smooth. The edges are much closer to the Omega than the Heimdallr shown in the video. Obviously there's going to be more consistency in a 9 grand product than the Heimdallr, but I wonder if you're is an early example. It's extremely comfortable and I often sleep wearing it. The clasp mechanism on my Heimdallr has been excellent, set it on the appropriate whole and it stays there. I only open it up for cleaning. Don't have the NTTD homage cos I think it's ugly (why anyone would want to homage an overpriced Omega I'll never know) For anyone buying a modern Omega be aware of their fondness for adding unwarranted zeros to their prices (check their price for a replacement ETA 2824-2 rotor assembly which highlights my point exactly)
I love the NTTD Seamaster, but unless I win the lottery it’s not going to happen (which is why I guess I’m watching this. The Heimdallr is the clear winner for me, if it wasn’t for that crystal.
I bought the Heimdallr and I love it. I picked it over the Phylida due to the gorgeous crystal, the thinner profile, and most especially because it is so much lighter. I'd prefer clear AR but the blue is fine, and the strap is great and fits my 155mm (6.25") wrist surprisingly well-though if they ever make a full Ti mesh I'd upgrade. My only complaints are that the lume could be better (apparently the white-dial version has fantastic lume), the finishing is uncomfortably sharp in places (edges of the bezel and caseback in particular-you described the latter as rough but it's the opposite: so perfect a 90° angle you could use it as a scraper / spoke shave), and the part of the clasp that differs from the Omega digs into my wrist a little and could do with a little refinement. I suspect I will take the needle-nosed pliers and a fine file to it at some point. Overall I think it's an exceptional value for the £165 I paid (Ali Express March anniversary sale). Just be prepared to wait if you want this black dial version, as they obviously can't keep up with demand: it took about six weeks for them to dispatch it after I placed my order, plus another 10 days for shipping.
Wow, thanks for all the insight and updates with regard to your order experience and how the watch has been for you since arriving! Really appreciate that and I agree with you, for the price, the Heimdallr is a phenomenal pick! Sorry to hear about some of the finishing on yours being sharper in some spots than the one I had in for review. I definitely would hit it with a polishing cloth if it had been mine to keep. Appreciate your comment, Christopher! Cheers! 😎🍻👍
Great to see you back again. So just remind me which one is the original again? 🤣 Phylida is the name of a toilet cleaning product here in the UK I can't get past that! Haha have to say though that the Heimdallr for the money could scratch the seamaster itch seems fairly well done.
Thanks Adrian! That is too funny about the toilet product name! 😂 I’d imagine that’s quite strange to see on a watch dial. But yeah they are some great options if one doesn’t feel up for dropping 9K! Thanks for stopping by to check it out man! 😎🍻👍
Is it? I haven't seen a phylida cleaning product. I have a phylida planet Ocean homage, and a phylida auto speedy homage. The clasp is iffy on the latter, needs careful love to get it to engage. The movement is not a Chronograph. The main seconds hand is sweep seconds. The sub dials are sweep seconds (again!), 1 to 7 day of the week, and 1 to 31 day of the month. Both ok for what they cost.
I have both Phylida and Heimdallr from my perspective the Phylida is far superior in quality and is really nice. The Heimdallr I recived had a stuck bezel due to their lack of quality control and very sharp edges so stay away . I will give Phylida 4 out of 5 and the Heimdallr 1 out of 5.
I personally own the Phylida, and I have seen the Omega in real life. Honestly the Phylida is amazing and apart from the fact that it's not made of titanium, it's an amazing watch and very very close to the Omega. The Heimdallr is closer to the original due to its size and colors. But I personally think that the dial is more boring
Bought it - it cross threaded and is now useless after 1 month. I took extra care because I was aware of the problem… Also bezel insert is not lined up and edges are extremly sharp… it’s almost like a knife. It’s actually normally weighted and not super light. The lume is absolute garbage. The print on the dial is also quite dark. The bezel action looses up after some time and is actually quite nice. I was looking forward to the Milanese strap but it’s quite uncomfortable. In hindsight I would have preferred a matching oyster bracelet. It looks awesome but the quality is really shit.
Yeeeeah buddy! Hehe, I should have shown a stack of 92 $100 dollar bills by the omega and then just 2 or 3 single hundred dollar bills by the Phylida and Heimdallr. What a difference!
Thanks Norm! Yeah that bracelet was hands down the BEST that I've ever seen and felt on the wrist. Truly amazing quality in its design and finishing. 😎🍻👍

Sometimes i feel like the chinese could make a really perfect hommage but at the end they always mess up 1 or 2 things that makes you wanna not buy it. Like this blue ar coating.. cant tell me that looks good to anyone.
Unfortunately the bracelet on the Phyllida shares the Chinese trait of bracelets with screws that fight you to the death. I've stopped buying Chinese watches because this problem is so ubiquitous.
interesting to compare original luxury watch to their knock offs. Don't really trust chinese knock off products...sorry but there is no comparison at all.
Thanks, Keith, yeah the homage scene is probably the biggest it has ever been right now. I figured that so often, the videos of these watches are just of the watch itself, but never compared to the real deal so I saw the opportunity to do a heads up comparison. I think the argument a lot of time is the cost for value of most enthusiasts, which I can understand...however, after owning and wearing some of these higher end pieces I can tell you they are night and day both in finishing and specs/quality.
What do you guys think of these homage options? Also, drop anything I may have missed or gotten wrong down in the comments! 👇👇👇
Either of them is a more worth it option to get the NTTD look imo
It's very disappointing to me that Omega pulled a Rolex and is charging 10k for a dive watch.
I have the Phylida with Cal. 8215 and Hacking. It looks classy without blue AR and works perfectly.
I ordered a Pagani 1667 for $139 from Amazon. It look the part, and if it sucks, return will be easy. Today is January 10, 2022, and I'm wearing a ProMaster Diver Eco-Drive in black. Sweet piece, and hassle free.
This is the future calling: Watchdives has THE homage!
I have almost ordered it already. No date version. Is it any good?
@@rolgolding. It’s great- feels really good on wrist.
The bezel action however is insanely bad, but seems to improve with persistent use!😅
@@rolgolding I got the watch dives NTTD with the new logo on the NATO strap. Dead on homage, super light, titanium, and the bezel is that gorgeous chocolatey brown. Speaking of the bezel, it’s atrocious and barely works. Other than that, I love this thing.
@@hootonhoot yeah, if they could figure out the bezel on this thing,😅 I’d be over the moon about it. I still like it though.
Me too, I wait forthe heimdallr. Looking for a daily resilient work watch, and titanium. Incl tax less the 180 bucks now.
Great to have you back! I would say the Heimdallr because of the materials used, I’ve only had one lackluster one so far.
Thanks, Joshua! I'm glad that my vid helped you with making that decision, the sea ghost is a great pick! Enjoy the watch, my friend! 😎🍻👍
just got my Phylida.
Blue ar coating is a pass for me aswell
It looks like this video’s been out for 2 years now but I’m glad that I found it. I’m a huge fan of Bond watches and this Omega will be my second favorite after Connery’s Sub. I love the brown tones mixed with the red details and I would buy it if I could afford it. Great comparison video, super helpful, if I could, I would take a little bit of both homages and make the perfect one but I can’t so I would go for the Heimdallr because of the tones and the domed crystal. Thanks for this awesome video!
Great video bro. It is 🔥 Thanks for the shoutout my friend. Keep Rocking those Watches my friend 🤘🏻
My man Matt!!

Great comparison video, Dave. Thanks for sharing!
@@DavidSchwartzjr I agree, and anytime bro! That's what friends are for 😊👊
Thanks for the shoutout David!
Great video, very interesting ad informative, thanks for the considerable effort you put into making it.
Thanks so much, GP! I am glad that you enjoyed taking a look at these side by side, it was a lot of fun to make! 😎🍻👍
Great comparison. I’d go with the Heimdallr. You great a lot for the cost. I just bought a Heimdallr “Captain Willard”. I’m VERY impressed.
Fun vid, thanks! I think Heimdallr nailed the bezel and bracelet, but the Phylida has the better dial and handset (the parallel sides on the hour hand of the Heimdallr just looks off to me). All the best!
Great video as usual Dave 😃👌
Thanks Trip! You know I always appreciate you stopping by, this one was a lot of fun to make! 😎🍻👍
This may be my first Sea Ghost
Awesome! Great watch for the money! 😎👍🍻
phenomenal vid dave!! I own the heimdallr and absolutely love it!!
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed the vid and excellent choice with the Heimdallr!! It’s such a great watch for the price, the specs are just unreal! Enjoy it my friend! 😎🍻👍
Awesome comparison to the Bond NTTD titanium and my choice would be the Heimdallr cuz I'm biased with my Sharkey 🍊 Monster 😎🍻
I love these comparisons.
I have owned the Phylida sterile dial PT5000 on a custom Milanese bracelet for about 2-3 months now, and it has been 👌
Glad to see the notification for another video! I think the Omega would be my pick of the bunch 👌
Thanks bro! You can't go wrong with that Bond NTTD watch, if I ever get my collection rounded out with some luxury pieces, that would be one to set it apart from what everyone else is rocking on the wrist for sure! 😎🍻👍
Any thoughts on the watch dives version?
I haven’t had it in the metal yet but I would love to check it out someday soon!
Hiemdallar looks great ,it be great if they did a version 2 where they smooth out the imperfections and got rid of the date window

Thanks Miguel! Yes, I know, that Omega is simply perfect. Even still though, I gotta hand it to these homage watches, they put out some damn good value hehe. I appreciate you stopping by to show some love bro! 😎🍻👍
Fantastic and very well presented reviews, I’m most likely based on this review going to purchase the Heimdallr 👍🏻👍🏻
That is great to read! Glad my review and comparison was helpful! You are going to love the Heimdallr! Such a great watch for the $$$. 😎🍻👍
That blue AR coating is kicking like Bruce Li
My condolences to you. Love this channel
I need to get that Omega mesh! Great video comparison!
Thanks Imran! Yes that bracelet is butter on the wrist! 😍🍻👍
I have the original Omega NTTD, it’s great but I am thinking about buying the Heimdallr in white and blue too. I believe their V2 has addressed the screw down crown and bezel flaws.
Glad you are back in the saddle.
And it’s good to be back, lots of work to get caught up on now 🤭
Great video bro!
Glad you liked it, P! 😎🍻👍
insane watch
Habe mir die Phylida NTTD vor ca. 1 1/2 Jahren gekauft. Nach ein paar Monaten ist die Krone heruntergegangen, seit ein paar Wochen funktioniert die Uhr gar nicht mehr.
Good comparison, would you choose octopus kraken or heimdallr quality/price?
Does the strap taper on the Heimdallr or is it 20mm all over?
I don't have possession of the watch at this time, but if my memory serves me correctly it was 20mm straight from lugs to the clasp.
It seems like the dial on the Heimdallr is black, while those on the Phylida and OG are brown -- is that true?
Almost first! 😂 Good to see you back
Lol oh you’re first for sure! My comment doesn’t count haha! Thanks Eve! 😎🍻🙌
just think about it, the taxes on the omega would be way more then the heimdallr sea ghost and the phylida combine.
Has anyone replaced the clasp(on Phylida)to the Omega style ones that have the micro adjustment push button?
Thanks a lot man
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed the vid! 😎👍

This was the seller I found on AliEx: bit.ly/310lhmi

@@DavidSchwartzjr Awesome, thanks for the recommendation, I appreciate it. Looking forward to some more videos!
I regret that i bought my pagani design NTTD watch before you upload this video. If i watched your video, i might buy the heimdallr instead
Too bad
The pagani version couldn’t make it for the comparison, but of the two homages here I
Think the Heimdallr takes the win, overall, the date window on the Phylida is meh, the font and border on the Heim is def better.....bracelet is nice on the Heim as well and it definitely more true to the original.

How loud is the miyota movement? I hear a lot of complaints about it, but I want to spend less, haha.
Hey, sorry about the late reply! So the rotor sound is one of those things that can be hit or miss. In this particular one it wasn't obnoxiously loud, but from most of the cheaper Miyota movement's I've owned, they are loud enough to annoy me lol. Thank you again Steve! The #WatchFam is the best fam! You and all the others have been amazing! 😎🍻👍
You know I just notice something, the hour hand on the Heimdallr is skinnier than the omega and doesn’t taper whatsoever
I don't think much of these Homage options !

Awesome video bud. That Omega is amazing. If I was in that bracket of the market, I'd be an Omega guy, forever.
The Phylida is pretty great.
Thanks brother! Yes, that Omega really changed the way I look at watches, especially when I get on a macro level, everything is so different. I would love to own one someday, but maybe once the collection is a bit more well rounded out. Cheers man! 😎🍻👍
Oooooh Gimme the Phylida but after someone has fitted a quartz movement into it...
I'm enjoying the Heimdallr. I didn't like the milanese bracelet - either you fit the holes or you don't: I didn't. Why does nobody talk bout the hour indices NOT being circular?
So? Conclusion? what is the homage recommended??????????????
The Heimdallr looks great. But if you want to scratch the itch, just go for the regular Seamaster 300.
Mention price in bio
HEIMDALLR gets it right
They did an awesome job! Thanks for checking it out and for dropping the comment, Tommy!
Comparison without decision doesn't help.
It's the heimdall, right?!
Heimdollorr
Nice copies
Bought it - it cross threaded and is now useless after 1 month. I took extra care because I was aware of the problem…
Also bezel insert is not lined up and edges are extremly sharp… it’s almost like a knife.
Which one?
@@frankiko1685 the heimdallr
@@christophchristoph9909 Thanks, Sorry to hear. One month with the Phylida here, and very happy (PT5000)
PHYLIDA ALL DAY! FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT!
Yeeeeah buddy! Hehe, I should have shown a stack of 92 $100 dollar bills by the omega and then just 2 or 3 single hundred dollar bills by the Phylida and Heimdallr. What a difference!
I've got the rose gold Phylida its got a very nice vintage look.Terrific video Dave ,great flow of imformation, cheers
That blue ar coating just ruins the heimdallr 👎🏻
Great comparison! That Omega milanese! wow - I don't think I've ever really looked at a high end milanese. That is very impressive.
Thanks Norm! Yeah that bracelet was hands down the BEST that I've ever seen and felt on the wrist. Truly amazing quality in its design and finishing. 😎🍻👍
@@DavidSchwartzjr Thank you so much for sharing it with us! So crazy, even in video :)
I got permabanned in r/chinesewatches because mods think the omega in your vid is a fake one😂
Lol wait what?! I have so many questions…why did you get banned for a video that I made? And why would they think this Omega is fake? 😂🤷🏻♂️
@@DavidSchwartzjr I posted a screenshot of your video asking for opinion of heimdallr and phylida compare to the real one, The moderator of the group think its a fake omega and permaban me like wth😂
@@ΗΗΗΗΗΗ0000 sheeesh sounds like the mod is a fucking idiot lol. Well, sorry you got banned on account of my content, that want cool at all. Maybe it’s my face he doesn’t like…or my hands…or maybe I was with wife/gf in the past; there could be a number of triggers tbh lol 🤷🏻♂️
@@ΗΗΗΗΗΗ0000 oh and just to be thorough, that Omega is a real one. The owner still has it to this day, along with tons of higher end watches in his collection (AP, Hublot, Rolex, Ming, etc) but I know the mod wouldn’t care nor believe it lol. Cheers brother 😎🍻👍
@@DavidSchwartzjr Ikr typical reddit moderators, anyways great reviews!
I still cant decide which one to get haha and may I ask which one have closer brown dial to the omega?
Sometimes i feel like the chinese could make a really perfect hommage but at the end they always mess up 1 or 2 things that makes you wanna not buy it. Like this blue ar coating.. cant tell me that looks good to anyone.
Turns smoothly. Not turns smooth. OMG
Unfortunately the bracelet on the Phyllida shares the Chinese trait of bracelets with screws that fight you to the death. I've stopped buying Chinese watches because this problem is so ubiquitous.
Why buy a knockoff
Phylida is not a watch name I could cope with on my wrist the name sounds like some kind off sexual disease.✌️😵🇬🇧🇺🇦
Lol I can see that. “Hey be careful with Susie, I heard she has Phylida”…😅
interesting to compare original luxury watch to their knock offs.
It’s done perfectly. Not done perfect…….what ever happened to proper grammar
