I’ve had this watch now for 2 years with the PT5000 and on the NTTD Nato. Still one of my favourites, though I own 50 watches, including a Rolex, Omega, Longines etc.MISS YOUR REVIEWS!
I absolutely love the look of this watch. Just ordered mine with the PT5000 movement. I disagree about the bracelet. I love that it doesn't taper and can't stand that Rolex bracelets taper so thin at the clasp. This should have been the look of the Seamaster in Goldeneye. It looks as good if not better on a coffee brown leather strap. It's a winner through and through.
I've had this watch, with the PT5000 movement, since early January. I had a couple of QC issues, it had some dust under the crystal I had to clean out and the clasp was pretty messed up. Phylida was very quick to send me a new clasp. I do wish the lume was a little better. Now, out of my Seiko's, Orients, G-Shocks, and San Martin watches, I wear this Phylida way more.
I have to say that I have been really impressed with Phylida, if you group them with Pagani in terms of price etc, then from what I have seen so far, Phylida's finishing has been a notch better. My one of these is a great example.
Very nice looking watch and good review. Only major complaint I have, is the clasp. For most people a micro adjustment would be more useful than a divers extension.
Thanks for the feedback, yes I would agree that for the vast majority of people some level of on-the-fly micro adjust would be far more beneficial than a divers extension. For me personally, this would be a deal breaker as in hot weather I regularly have to adjust my bracelets,
This is a dove watch after all. Designed to be the most effective… If you are diving that is. If you are going for something more suitable for whatever it is you do get a Rolex date just homage or something.
I ordered one with the Nato strap and Im getting a mesh bracelet as those are more true to the homage. You can get the Omega with either mesh or Nato but not the traditional seamaster bracelet like the phylida one.
Odd question, but what colour are the indices and bezel markings in person? The macro shots make them look brown/beige - like the original Omega - but the more distant shots make them look almost yellow......
Just received this on the bracelet, along with Heimdallr Sea Ghost version, and I'm definitely gravitating towards this one -- except for the bracelet -- how the heck does one remove links to resize? The double screws come out, for the most part, but the links still stay together with no hint of a pin inside. Any ideas?
Love this watch - pity that I can't actually buy it from aliexpress ( This product can't be shipped to your address. Select another product or address). Guess I'll have to leave the UK to own one !!!
not sure why Phylida don’t use the other lettering Ived seen on Aliexpress when you go to message seller. The Lettering is much cooler and also got a small Logo on top of the name like a crown.
I was just checking out Aliexpress and you can get this watch with a PT500 instead of the Miyota. It will hack and hand wind but I don't think it's worth it for an extra $70
I would agree, for my experience, the PT5000 is ok, but you don’t really get anything over the Miyota movement that’s worth the extra. If it were an SW200 then I would say pay the extra.
I beg to differ, the accuracy on my PT5000 NTTD is absolutely phenomenal. During my last measurement it was +0s/day, previously -2s/day. I would however say that there is some water to flow under the bridge in terms of long term reliability. Mine is getting a lot of wrist time!
@@themechanicaltimepiece6288 You get 28,800 BPH instead of 21,600 BPH, which results in a smoother sweeping second hand. For many people that makes it worth it.

Hi, probably a trick of the light, they definitely have the brown / beige color to them.
When you realise the pt5000 movement is the same ETA used in some Tudor Black Bays you understand what a bargain it is.
Little correction needs to be made though: it's not the ETA in that watch. It's just a clone of that movement.
Great macro work.
excellent review
I have it and think it's great...put it in a mesh strap.

Sitting with the exact same issue man

As someone who has the PT5000, its easily better than any of my other miyotas.

Nice review
Interesting. Most other reviews of this watch I've seen, the color is more brown/beige while this looks more yellow 🤔
So many things would prevent me from buying the watch. Good review though
You’re calipers need recalibration .. it is indeed 41mm.
Miyota "Loud" movement will remind you every movement that you are wearing a cheap crap.
