What to eat when you have diabetes? Can you only consume diabetes “special foods”? Are carbs totally off-limits when you’re diagnosed with diabetes?
When you have type 1 diabetes or type 2 diabetes, it’s super important to make healthy food choices. Some foods can contribute to blood sugar fluctuations, while others can optimize blood sugar control while promoting overall health. So if you’re looking for super hacks to make eating with diabetes easier, you came to the right place! Terah, together with Klinio team, shares essential yet simple information about diabetes management through a healthy diet and its dos and don’ts.
Diabetes is a condition when your blood glucose level, also known as blood sugar level, is too high. Blood glucose is your main source of energy and comes from the food you eat. Insulin, a hormone made by the pancreas, helps glucose from food get into your cells to be used for energy. When you have diabetes, your body doesn’t produce enough insulin or doesn’t use it effectively. Glucose then stays in your blood and doesn’t reach your cells. Over time, having too much glucose in your blood can cause health problems.
There are two main types of diabetes: type 1 and type 2. But what to do if you’re diagnosed? The diagnosis can be shocking and overwhelming, so the first thing you need to do is sit down and relax. You need to remember that both types of diabetes are very manageable with the right kind of treatment plan. If you have a good health care team, then there is very little reason why you can’t live a normal life.
Diabetes will require your attention every day. No matter which type you have, you have to follow these steps:
Step #1: Control your blood sugar levels. Your doctor will let you know what your target blood sugar range should be as well as how and when to check it. This way, you'll know how food, exercise, and medicine affect your glucose level.
Step #2: Maintain a healthy diet. You’ll need to keep a well-balanced, nutritious, and healthy diet. Especially if you’re overweight and have type 2 diabetes.
Step #3: Keep a regular exercise routine. Alongside a healthy diet, any good healthcare team is also going to suggest regular physical activity to manage diabetes.
Step #4: Take insulin or medications as prescribed by your doctor. Type 1 diabetes requires external insulin. You can take this in the form of injections at regular intervals or get an insulin pump attached to your body, which will release the insulin. For type 2 diabetes treatment, your doctor may prescribe one or more medications to get the sugar levels under control.

I am ‘learning’ about this condition & you are making me nuts! You tell me diabetes is caused by the foodI eat; doctors on here tell me it’s due to the pancreas being blocked? Huh? What’s the real story?

If I had continued following this kind of advice I could never have reversed type 2 diabetes. I began my very low carb journey back in 2017 after ten miserable years of trying to treat/manage diabetes with the very kind of advice you are talking about in this video and I continued to get worse with more and more terrible diabetic complications. Today I’m now 7 years into diabetic reversal and over 6 free of diabetic medications. In a nutshell, in order for me to reverse T2 Diabetes I had to stop listening to guidelines like you are talking about here. 3 meals a day and snacks in between, holy sweet lord there is no hope of putting diabetes into remission or reversal. I ditched the carbs, starches and sugars plus all vegetable and seed oils. I also completely stopped eating all processed pseudo/ fake junk food. And look what happened. No more diabetes and no more diabetic complications. Yes going low carb keto actually reversed those terrible complications as well as the diabetes. If anyone is interested in reversing this global killer disease I would highly recommend you check out Dr Ken Berry’s TH-cam channel where you’ll find common sense solutions for your type 2 diabetes and pre diabetes. By going low carb I long ago lost all desire to snack/graze. My tastebuds have been totally reset. I no longer crave carbs and sugars. I can live very happily on 1-2 meals a day without snacks in between. I very rarely feel hungry. Thankfully my days of treating/managing diabetes are now long behind me. I will finish off by letting people know that we do not need carbs in order to live happy and healthy lives. Carbs are NOT essential.

All bread is sugar so no bread, low carbs, no rice, no fruit, no pasta, no snacks. Eat more animal based food so you can eat less meals because it keeps you full. I eat two meals a day can’t sack because I’m always full. I have no more blood pressure medication and lost 16 kilo in 3,5 months.

My mother is a beast make the impossible to regulate her blood sugar she refuses anything healthy I'm dying trying to help her and why is there no decent meal delivery service that revolves around diabetes I can't imagine how difficult this can be for some people when they get diagnosed and all my mother wants to do is eat pasta add bacon sandwiches and she will want sweet drinks and tell me to order more drinks for her and deliver them to the house and so we argue Mom I'm not going to deliver another strawberry lemonade or egg cream soda and she's got confusion all the time when it comes to something she should be doing like taking her pills she somehow doesn't see the pill box the huge rainbow colored pill box on the counter in the kitchen which is pretty amazing since she's in the kitchen 100 times a day I am spending hours trying to figure out what to get her she doesn't eat cashews she doesn't eat cheese she doesn't eat yogurt she just wants ice cream and ice cream isn't so bad but if you're already over 350 I say no and she pitches a fit

Let her do as she pleases, but do it herself, for a couple of weeks. You are being a slave to her. She will not reform if you don't.

Don’t do it , y’all. Please research. Her advice will keep you diabetic and on track for dialysis, and amputation. The only fruit that I agree with from her list is blueberries.

You're correct she'll keep you sick. Maybe she's a pharmaceutical implant, her advice does nothing for Reversible Adaptations.
